I remeber Kali, it was actually when I was introduced to BW. We had few PCs in LAN but we had no Internet there. I think we used Kali as a proxy because the game complained about just single license I only remember mass mutas from there and that one French girl was actually owning us. But that was many years ago before I started watching BW games on YT channels and discovered TL (lurking for more than 5 years here...) so I had no idea about the scene or if it was esport back then. So still most of the names doesn't ring a bell, I started watching the Korean VODs and didn't follow international scene until later.

Small correction: Kali simulated a IPX network over a TCP/IP network (Internet).
Playing meaningless games are a travesty to competition.

You forgot to include the WDT scam ran by smuft/elky. Probably the biggest bullshit to ever happen in the BW days aside from the Savior/koreans scandal.
Great post though btw, pG was the team i looked up to the most as well as TL. Back when i played protoss i looked up to team z7- which was pretty much all protoss users lol.
I then switched to terran after watching some of Gundam's replays. Vulture vs goon micro became an obsession. O how good it feels to surround a group of goons with mines and run away watching the blue goo splatter all over the battlefield.
