| I don't understand how putting any effort into this would do you any good considering it's only a very slight delay for any oncoming attack. And if anything, concentrating on actually spreading creep will help you out more than saving a grid of them in your base for this use. |

| Maybe someone in bronze would be thorwn off his game so much that he leaves. Other than that I totally agree with jacosajh! |

It'd probably only turn out to be useful for zergling runbys in very small chokes since everything else would straight-up kill the building tumors too quickly. In that case, one has to wonder why you'd leave a hole in the first place that you couldn't defend normally.
Though surrounding the baneling is pretty hilarious.
EDIT: Still, nice find, if only for personal amusement.Last edit: 2012-05-29 01:49:49 |

| ok guys, but when the metagame shifts, and all your hellions and lings are being stopped by the tumor walls, and all your ghosts and hts are being neutralized by the tumor prisons, don't come crying to me unless you want an "i told you so" to the face. Last edit: 2012-05-29 01:53:52 |

Nobody really has the APM to do this stuff, don't act like you just discovered some gamechanging thing. That said it's a nice find that might come in handy some day. |

| Very interesting to know, but for the most part utterly useless, don't try and work this into your game play what so ever, but still an interesting find. |

| The problem with trying to stop runbys with this is if they were a-moving, then your creep tumours could die pretty quickly. |

hts, infestors, banes all cannot break out without using energy and/or damaging themselves. In addition if you are quick enough you can cancel them just prior to completion and rewall immediately to effectively trap a ht/infestor/bane all game.
I take my hat of in honor of the OP. This is a discovery about as significant as the idea of a macro hatch, or maynarding workers. It should be spotlighted in the strategy section.
EDIT: BTW is it possible to wall-in hellions and cancel the tumors before the hellion fire animation, and then rewall them again? Sort of like with warp prism-immortal or medivac-tank micro vs slow shooting units like stalkers. If so that would be awesome.Last edit: 2012-05-29 16:07:03 |
