In the 순대 blurb you can maybe expand it into 순대국 because man I love that shit and I eat it at least like twice a month (and that's a lot for anything non-poultry that I eat). Speaking of chicken, 양념치킨 has to be somewhere because I don't think they dress the chicken the same way anywhere else in the world and that shit is sooo good I just had a some in the past weekend with some 단무 and man add some cold beer and it's heaven I tell you it's HEAVEN.
Also speaking of chicken I believe 불닭 and 파닭 deserve a mention. Both are quite distinctively "Korean" ways of enjoying chicken. It's good that you have at least 닭갈비 in your original post. Can you tell that I love chicken?
I love you more now because you love chicken.
You know, there's this fantastic chicken buffet in 이대, where they have all-you-can-eat, 8 types of chicken, including 양념치킨 and lots more, for only 6 bucks a person. If ever you and I happen to be in Korea at the same time, we must go! |

Some Korean food is good, but I gotta say, after having lived here a year and a half, I am sooooo sick of it. I'm grumpy as hell for half an hour every day at lunch while I contemplate eating more goddamn rice and kimchi. And the vegetables, ugh. Always either the spicy sauce or the sesame sauce. Fuck that shit. Anyways, sorry for this mini-rant, just got back from lunch so I'm in the aforementioned bad mood.
Actually your blog cheered me up a little, reminded me of all the Korean stuff that's actually good thanks mr. egg |

Well, to each his own I guess. For me, I can't stand most of it and I can't remember the last time I had Korean food outside of school, even with my girlfriend, who is Korean. I'm even sick of BBQ, which I used to love. Thankfully, there's some decent places to get foreign food around where I live. Going home for vacation in a month and a half, can't wait to have my mom's cooking!
It sucks actually, I love everything else about Korea, the people are great and my gf is the cutest little thing. BUT I can't see myself staying another year after this, mainly because of the food... |

| I've had 2 of the GM foods listed here, and I think that battered and fried eel spine bones washed down with eel bile in soju should be added to GM. Straight dog meat could probably be Master's. |

Nice blog! So comprehensive, I think I slot in around diamond league. I've had some of the Master's stuff but the cow blood, organ soup, live octopus and silk worms were far from enjoyable

| I don't know how these are rated, because some of these foods should be mixed around I feel. ^^ I've had Bosintang (The Dog soup). I don't think I can recommend it, because it is something nasty. The meat is all gross and chewy. I do want to try 말벌술 though. |

Cool blog!
As a twinkie Korean I'm only Masters and wow I never knew there was so much more shit to eat lol. But I really don't wanna get anything that smells really awful/off/not Korean-ish to my taste. |

| I love eating korean food :D there's a great BBQ place where I get my fix thats a 30min drive away, love putting bulgogi or pork or lamb chops in lettuce and a slice of garlic! Also my favourite korean dish is probably fish egg soup (al tang?) I can just eat that all day! Good post but if you have time, would you mind adding pics for every dish? Also isn't dumplings a Chinese dish? |

Fun blog but dog soup shouldn't be GM imo. They're still mammals. Also, most travellers to SEA have tried some type of insect too I think, but I suppose eating volumes of crickets is different to nibbling one or two.
If only there was a ladder. Then I can be GM for once lol.Last edit: 2012-05-30 17:06:11 |

I was born in Korea and raised in Los Angeles, so I ate most of the food on the list. My favorite Korean food of all is not on the list.

I love it because it mixes meat, veggies, seafood, and kimchi all in one bite. It's also perfect with soju.
Jonathan Gold, who won a Pulitzer for writing about food, made a comprehensive list of Korean food in Los Angeles worth checking out since it's so similar to this blog.

꼬리곰탕 is essentially the same as 설렁탕. I don't think it deserves a spot in masters.
I used to hate 곱창, but there are a few places (청담소 comes to mind).. where it is absolutely delicious. I always go there before a night of drinking. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to give it a try. Last edit: 2012-05-30 18:33:40 |

보쌈? 갈매기살? 갈비살~!
those are some meaty deliciousness that was not mentioned! My favorite is probably 갈매기살. \ (Pork skirt meat with a special type of marinade that varies from restaurant/location) |
