im pretty sure terran fits you the best.
its a good race to learn to play passive, you dont need to be agressive at all in lower leagues (up to master, at a very high level you will often rely on agression - but even then you dont need to... look at goody.) zergs sounds good for u in the first place, but zerg has a lot of fast paced units that u should move around and do stuff with - that doesnt sound like sth u want to do. protoss, well, you will hate PvP - you can fast expo vs terran and zerg every game and turtle defensively obviously, but there is no reason to take toss over terran for your matter. |

These graphs are a little old but: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=309042
If the game is 20+ min, zergs tend to win. Terran needs to play aggressively during the early and mid game. Protoss need to turtle vs Terran and be aggressive against zerg
Personally, I think you should play the race you enjoy most Last edit: 2012-05-31 11:52:59 |

| Play protoss, theyre extremely comfortable in current metagame sitting on 3-4 bases until deathball and just rolling over whatever they come upon. However there will always be times when you'll have to all in or do something of the sort. FFE with protoss into a mass tech build |

| If you like picking a race based on the current metagame, would you change if the metagame shifted? And what will you do when HOTS comes out? |

| Protoss seems to be a good fit for you. They have a strong late game and now of days tosses have kind of realized that sitting and being defensive is an incredibly strong style. I would recommend protoss, but zerg can do that as well. |

| whatever you choose, do not choose terran ... that race is beyond terrible in the current metagame... just choose protoss, it's good for sitting back, and unlike terran it's good at playing the late game. like, if you like to sit back and get an advantage that way. the only matchup where you can do that as terran at the moment is tvt Last edit: 2012-05-31 12:06:19 |

Terran = early-mid game no late game , must always harass and push none stop lots of micro for all units
Zerg = marco based , must scout none stop and always adapt more then other races until late game and harass little
Protoss = a-click army , turtle up and send a death ball out , and play deffensive
Unlike the two before me who have said don't simplify the game like that... I have to say that this is more or less the overall stereotype that exists in SCII. And stereotypes are born from facts... So... |

Yes, but stereotypes are also laden with oversimplification and fallacies. The problem with these stereotypes is that they are just plain wrong; how can you say Protoss is suppose to turtle when warpgates and warp prisms are the very epitome of offensive play and pushes? Back to the point I made in page 1; it's more about how you play than what you play. So just fucking pick a random race and go--you can figure out how to make them work for your style along the way; don't make deciding your race overcomplicated, hell I picked Protoss in Brood War because I liked the Zealot and though the High Templar sounded cool (on another note, I miss his old voice; it was so badass). The most important thing for a new player is to just play, and explore the game; only then will they be able to find what is right for them. Last edit: 2012-05-31 14:10:54 |

there are tonnes of different style. You can have a super macro orientated terran that go non stop push after 3 bases (I think Bomber is the one who does this in TvZ) You can have more aggressive zerg like Life, July and leenock and put pressure back onto the opponent at times. You can have super funky style toss like Hero and kiwikaki |

ok thanks guys...
after a couple days of paying around i think im just going to stay with Terran as i can buld with my eye's closed.. i just know how to play them i tried protoss and zerg again and i just felt lost..
i guess i need to suck up lossing all the time and learn how to win with terran , and maybe learn some new style's playing as terran thanks for all the imputs .
i will just have to do some more early timing pushes with Terran to stop protoss or zerg from getting to far ahead of me
anyone want to teach me some Terran tips add me if you want .
