Hi everyone!
I'm Grumpy a 27-y/o psychologist from Frankfurt, Germany. After my final exams last year I was wondering, what I could do with 4 months spare time. When I asked everyone in a TL-Thread what they would do in my situation responses went from "learn an instrument", "go pro in SC2", "get stoned forever" or simply: "Travel!"
Due to pneumonia I wasn't able to do any of the above. And the rest of the time I acutally worked, which was a bad idea. And now, before I will start to work in Frankfurt in September, I will visit the 2 countries I wanted to see since I was 15: Korea and the United States.
The idea is to meet as many people and TLers as possible and have a great time. I will update this thread regularly and write about my experiences. The schedule and things I want to see is still subject to change.
If anyone wants to meet:
It would be great to meet some of you guys, especially in Seoul and hang out with you guys. Is there a foreigner-meeting scheduled for SC2-games or at Yaletown?
If anyone has a couch to offer or is member of AirBNB shoot me a message.
If anyone wants to meet, take a tour or simply have a good time talking to a german TLer, I'd be very happy to meet you :o)
Schedule
Seoul: June 2nd - June 15th
- Visit SC2-Games
- Meet foreigners and TLers!
- Visit DMZ
- Get lost in Seoul (badly. Many times I guess)
- Do couchsurfing or AirBNB
Recommendations for hostels/places to stay? I’m clean, friendly and can be quiet ;-).
Hawaii: June 15th - June 29th

USA: June 30th - August 21st
West to Eastcoast
San Francisco
- Find a nice place to watch eurocup final (July 1st; being a german I just have to watch it ;-)
- Spend Independence day (dunno what to so far tbh).
- Rent a Car for 3-4 weeks
Do Car Trip (3-4 weeks)
- From San Francisco to Los Angels (or San Diego)
- Flagstaff (visit friends)
- Grand Canyon
- Las Vegas
- Sequoia and/or Yosemite National park (any recommendations on these or other national parks?)
Rest of the trip by bus/plane/train (to be continued with further detail)
- Chicago
- Washington DC
- New York (at least 1 week)
- Departure to Frankfurt: August 21st from NY
