I always found that Silver league is a lot better than everybody thinks in the upper leagues (I'm Gold right now).
There are players that are not that bad until the first timing and only in standard games. |

As Kusto said, a lot of players in lower-leagues aren't that bad until they get to a point where build orders are no longer useful. For this reason, you should probably find a solid 2base timing-attack for each match-up and work on hitting that timing really accurately. If you can do that then you'll improve you 2base mechanics and your micro really quickly, allowing you to move into 3base games once you feel more comfortable with your unit control, infrastructure management and worker production  Last edit: 2012-06-01 18:04:10 |

| I try and keep my macro good throughout the whole match. The only problem is that when I'm getting close to late game I forget to macro and my money skyrockets. |

| Also I can't get what a timing-attack is. I know you're supposed to hit when upgrades finish or your part or before upgrades finish for your opponent. |

Timing-attacks are usually timed to occur when something that will give you a large advantage over your opponent finishes. Examples include a "critical" number of a powerful unit being finished, an upgrade finishing, or (in the case of Protoss) a bunch of Warpgates finishing so that a large number of units can be produced right on the opponent's door-step. They can also be timed to occur when you know that your opponent's build is going to be weak, an example being the Terran 2rax opening that hits just before Warpgates are finished (which is when an early-game Protoss is weak).
In your case, it's probably best for you to work on 2base all-ins. Why? Because with an all-in know exactly what time you're supposed to be attacking at and exactly how many units/workers you should have at that time; having such rigidly defined benchmarks that you can measure yourself against makes it very easy for you to analyse your mistakes.
Personally, I like Immortal timing-attacks, so I would go for these openings:

PvP is a bit weird. To be honest, I'd just 4gate in PvP until you get higher in the league system because PvP relies heavily on reading your opponent and you can't really do that in Silver. Damn I like that Immortal timing in PvZ. Will try it out. My PvP is starting to get better. It was my worst match-up but I think I can handle it. I think I have a pretty solid mid-game and late-game. The problem is that I can't hold off cheeses or something funky like a mass Voidray stuff...

i play some games for fun.im gold league. and i have many problems on zvp with air units T_T. and not matter how many expos i got . if toss got 3 expos and wait for imba mix 200 pob. not way i cant stop that  .in bw if u have more expos than toss is almost gg .

Tech to broodlords and with the recent queen buff air shouldn't be that much of a problem. I stopped using air for Zerg a while ago, can't even micro air units that well too.
About that promotion, you should be getting promoted if your points are high enough.

is strange cuz im playing vs platinum people and win.but still in gold im like 760 points

The hard counter to Voidrays are Corruptors I guess. If you go Corruptors and clear the Void rays then I guess you'll have a straight tech path to Broodlords. The thing is that then the Protoss can throw down a Fleet Beacon and go for a Mommaship, but that moves slow. Just make sure you split your Broodlords so you can avoid the infamous "Archon toilet".
As for countering what your opponent does hmm... Infestor Broodlord with lings are a great combo late game. Use fungal on his army to make stand still and the huge DPS of Broodlords should kill his army. Also chaining those fungals is a good idea.
I'm giving you advice from what I've seen top Zerg players do against my favorite Protoss players. I have no idea if this is helpful or not. Do a little research. There's tons of articles here. You just need to find the right ones. Cheers!Last edit: 2012-06-01 20:25:57 |
