Or how bad can you be after quitting?

My last SC2 match was 4~ months ago. I was zerg masters back then.

Now I'm back to sc2. For some reason, my macro is as bad as a gold league player. Yes, I was masters and now I'm losing to gold players.

Every day you don't play, you lose touch. Players become better every day. It's no surprise that the masters of the past are the same skill level as those in gold league now.

That's... a bit of a stretch. I've been platinum since launch and I have NEVER been matched against anyone who has been in any league higher than diamond. Anybody who has reached master at any point in the history of SC2 will have enough skill to at least be in the diamond league. Unless they had some kind of traumatic brain injury, there is absolutely no way a master player's skills would deteriorate to the level of a platinum, much less a gold player, no matter how much time has elapsed since they stopped playing.

OP, unless you cheesed your way to master or something, I'm positive you will find your way back up. The ladder really hasn't changed that much in 4 months. Just play safe and standard, gold/plat level players are terrible.

True, I never lost to more than a league below me no matter how long the pause, or even if im wasted. Just give it few games to "remember" your mechanics and you're good.

Four months is a pretty long time. The standard builds for essentially all 3 races have changed, and the counters to what used to work in Masters have probably at this point trickled down even to gold league. Just give it some games to get your mechanics back to masters level, and you'll be fine.

Losing to gold players is a bit much... I stopped playing for 2 months and I was still able to roll over high diamonds when they played the old metagame. I mean it's no surprise to lose some games to lower levels players when u fall out of touch with the metagame nowadays but you should still be able to beat anyone a league below and be untouchable to those further below that.

My last SC2 match was about 4/5 months ago. Two days back I played some games again and when I played I was almost just as good as 4 months ago. My builds were only slightly unrefined and definitely outdated. Then I realized SC2 is something you just never lose, my fingers knew instinctively what to do.
