So I did say in my other blog that I would update again. But then MLG and Euro cup so those plans went out the window. But those were really good totally worth it to not sleep at all watching the first Euro games. So this update will just be like a general life one and I will eventually do that jeju island sometime I promise, even if it is when I go back to Canada.
So I can't really remember much that happened in the past month, only really distinctly recall the past week and a bit so I will just talk about what I have done during this time.
So first I guess major thing I did was I saw my first Kpop live performance, by a really pretty group Lay.T, they aren't that famous but still, they're good. And I just happened upon them randomly while waiting for the movie time to start. So all in all a pretty good night. And here is a fancam from darksniper who I actually saw there, which is kind of cool I guess.
I am directly off to the right of the stage front row. At one point they were all waving to the crowd and I swear one of them noticed I was foreigner and waved directly at me, yay! A couple days after this the Filipino exchange who I went to see this with left back to the Philippines. He was pretty cool and a really, really good dancer.
School progressed as usual, me sleeping maybe 1 class(usually math) a day and pretty much the usual nothing to exciting. Weekend same as well go to PC bang with friends and just relax, hang out. But that Monday we had a holiday, so me and two girls from my class went to insadong which is like a foreigner attraction area. I guess it was kind of cool we went inside this really place that had all these old toys and it was nice then we went to some tea place and they bought me some tea as gift.

Once finished with stores there, we went to a kimbap house which is like a restaurant that servers really simple korean food. It was pretty good. But my friends kept saying that the people there were really rude but I couldn't see why. ^what we ate, was really good!
After that we kind of got bored with walking around Insadong, so then we just started wondering around the area for a while just talking. Eventually decided to walk to this stream, it is pretty famous but I can never remember name so here is pic.
Later we saw some famous comedian walking around myeongdong I cant remember his name, but my friends said he was ugly. There was a bunch of cameras following him and he even started interviewing this foreigner who was there. We eventually just shopped around for a bit and bought a few things before we went back cause we were all really tired. It had rained that day to make it worse.
Another interesting thing I did was I went to go see a wedding anniversary for my host parent's friend's parents. It was really cool to see this they had the traditional Korean drummers with the strings attached to their hats and they danced with them. One of the coolest things I have seen here. Then they had the ceremony which was a little long and mostly just involved a lot of bowing and kneeling but it was still nice to see. Then there was the food which was amazing. It was like a buffet and pretty much everything was delicious. My plate:
One of my friends really likes showing traditional Korean things. So we went to Hwaseung which is a walled city. I was really cool we walked around most of it and climbed to the top of the area and overlooked the entire walled in city. It was really nice. There we also saw this giant golden Buddha. And then he wanted to pray at it for a while so we did that. Mostly just walking around the place for a couple of hours. Pics from Hwaseung more pics in spoiler. + Show Spoiler +
After walking around for a while we went to see this display of traditional Korean weapons and fighting techniques. It was really cool and some of them were amazing with the bows or swords. They showed off many different types of weapons ranging from bows to like bamboo spears which were ridiculously long. The people I took pictures with were the ones who were amazing with their respective weapons. + Show Spoiler +
And Finally, today was my birthday! I turned 18 which is I guess kind of big deal but whatever. I was really suprised about how many people knew it was my birthday at school. A lot of people brought me snacks and presents and even a couple of cards which was really nice. And then my friends did what happens to boys on their birthdays, they beat you up. Pretty much the same as birthday beats except with the added that they surround you and kick you while chanting happy birthday. Was and experience. Anyway that is pretty much it.

Looks like youre enjoying yourself man! Immersing yourself in such a different culture has to be an experience you'll have for the rest of your life! hope that I can make such a cultural exchange in the future ~
