Against the AI I played as all three races in order to test and practice what they have to offer. For terran i really enjoy the new factory units such as the battle hellion. For zerg my favorite new unit was the viper since it has the ability to grab tanks and collosi making hydras much more useful. And for protoss I enjoyed the tempest with the range upgrade; because who doesnt like a unit that can be completely outside a base and still attack everything, thats what I call a desirable unit. Not to mention protoss's oracle can block the entire mineral line and have vision for 2 minutes. While every race got some new things, they can all be countered with with some basic strategy from the other races which is what makes it a great game. Like Wings of Liberty, the game will take time to learn and some balance issues will be dealt with. Of course like always protoss is too strong, but blizzard works in such a great way that protoss will be getting some buffs. Hopefully terran will be a viable option in the future and the three races can live in mutal balance as they attempt to destroy each other.
I laughed. But really, I'm looking forward to HOTS. Wings of Liberty has gotten a bit stale for me and I'm hoping the new (actually interesting) units will help out with that. Balance issues are to be expected at release of course and we'll all have to get adjusted to that. With the disappointment in Diablo 3, HOTS is the next game I'm looking forward to playing. Nice that you got to play a few games of it. |
