bittersweet highschool graduation

hey guys.
yesterday I graduated from high school.
it's been a long journey involving a span of depression, 3 different schools, a year off, and a lot of unforgettable experiences.

my graduating class had only 25 kids and graduation took place in a tiny ballroom in who knows where. doesn't sound all that glorious but the smallness among other things made the occasion a very intimate one.

I had to hold back tears when I got my diploma looking at my parents and my friends, no, brothers and sisters cheering for me at the top of their lungs. it's been a long journey and one i'll never forget.

its been 2 amazing years with these guys- both senior classmates and my Korean dorm kids.
I'll especially never forget the dorm. Staying up on a school night till 3AM 3 days in a row secretly eating ramen and talking all night then passing out as soon as we got home from school, sneaking out for a midnight swim, screaming our heads off at crazy dunks and plays while watching the NBA, our daily 5 on 5 basketball pick up games, BW/LoL/DOTA/winning eleven fests, making fun of each other then getting pissed then making up again then back to making fun of each other, watching movies on a laptop with 8 people packed on 2 couches put together, and just so many more memories that are still fresh on my mind.

imagine living with 15 of your best friends. yeah its awesome.
i'll also miss the girls upstairs... some i didn't get to know so well and some i can say are my best friends. korean girls are the cutest and that is fact and i will miss them all very much. T.T

i don't know what to write anymore and my grammar is progressively getting worse as this goes on as i'm just consumed by nostalgia already... the dorm kids are probably on the plane to korea right now. hope to see you all soon. can't wait for korea in 3 days!

haha well highschool always has drama and we had our fair bit of drama but nothing went out of hand. we all get over it at the end. pretty much the closest thing to family i've experienced outside of my own family. im still in denial that its over and haven't even started unpacking my stuff lol ;(

Did you go to a boarding school? It sounds like you had a lot more fun than I do at my high school... Then again there is only like one person that shares the same interest with me because there are basically no Asians

yep! its a small school with around 40 dorm students and 70 local students. 36/40 are korean students and the other 4 were chinese students.
i actually first hated my parents for sending me to boarding school but now i am the most thankful to my parents for it. funny how that works haha

So somebody has to be Asian to share common interests with you? As a white guy, I take that pretty offensively to be honest with you. I live in a city that's predominantely asian and I'm the minority, so I'm aware of what discrimination is like but still...bit offensive bro.

It makes sense, too. I go to a Catholic High School that puts a lot of emphasis on sports (I do none). Most Asians in my area are not Catholic, and there is an arguably academically better high school in my area where many of the Asian people that I know attend. I am stereotyping, but I really don't know anyone at my school that is interested in SC and competitive gaming, whereas of the two Asian people I have been friends with for a long time also happen to play SC.
