Hey TL! It's me as always, giving some updates involving my music career. I just finished another large scale piece similar to Spire. This piece will be on an album with Spire and other pieces I am working on at the moment. All of these pieces are slightly similar, as I am seeking to blend classical form/harmony/counterpoint with contemporary sound design elements.
Here is Heartflux!
Also, by popular request I will break the piece down a bit for those who are interested in my music.
Heartflux is in a ternary form, if you aren't familiar with what ternary form is, it's just an ABA form. Where the B section strongly contrasts the A section, and is differentiated generally by key change and theme change.
Heartflux is in a macrolevel ternary form, with each A, B, and A section, split up into it's own ABA section. So if we diagram it, it looks like..

When you listen to the piece, it may enrich your experience knowing the form! The harmonic outline for this piece is fairly straight forward, I modulate to the minor subdominant at the B section and I also modulate between each small component of the form as well. The outline is;
a minor - A major - a minor - d minor - D major - d minor - a minor - A major - a minor.
However, during the section in D major, I found a very interesting and beautiful modulatory route that hinges between D major and it's relative minor, b minor. There is also a strongly pronounced neapolitan chord in that section.
Hope you all enjoy it. I have about 60 hours of working time in on this particular piece.

disclaimer: i'll be using synth for the modulated sound and melodic for the melodic bit, and not whichever other definitions anyone else might be familiar with.
Heartflux
3:17 to 3:49 is probably the lowest point of the track. 4:20 - 4:40 it's pretty good, but degenerates after that.
Rest is unremarkable, some sudden transitions and unpleasant bleed through have been noted though.
My assessment would be that you have a decent idea and a good grasp of the classic/melodic elements, but are not using the synth effects properly to support them. It feels like most of the time they are clashing more than increasing the overall experience. More practice will likely help there.
Overall it's not too bad, if this was a graded exercise I'd probably give it anywhere between 60-70%.
Spire
The beginning is pretty good, up until 1:05. Not quite sure about the section afterwards, there is some stuttering that sounds almost overdone at times, especially around 1:45-1:50.
2:05 - 2:30 the synth effect is droning out the melodic bit, that entire section feels disjointed and hardly pleasant.
3:10 to 3:50 the synth is going way overboard on the crazy while the melodic bit is playing normally. suggest toning it down.
4:10 - 4:40 is good, the section beginning afterwardsat 4:50 is an example of not too in-your-face synth interacting nicely with the melodic bit. Ends on a good note again.
It's good. Same flaw as Heartflux. You have a good grasp of what you want your track to be, but it's not quite there, mostly due to going way overboard on the synth in the main synth sections. Check loudness, intrusiveness, and interaction with the melodic bit. It's like both sides are off doing their own thing, which does not really fit the track as a whole.
This one is decidedly better all in all. I'd give it a 75-85% since most sections are done quite well.
