It's the song used in the liquid rising trailer, and it sounds absolutely awesome! I know I'm going to regret posting songs later on because the youtube embed makes pages load extremely slow on my terribad clunker of a laptop, but I think the songs are worth sharing
Anyway, I'm leaving on a trip to China tomorrow morning, and will be gone for five weeks. You know what the awesome thing is, though? I registered late for the flight, and going there it's just economy class like a normal chobo.
But I used frequent flyer miles for the trip. And on the return flight there were pretty much no economy class seats available. Yes, you guessed it. Coming back, the first-class seats were cheaper with the point systems. YEAH BABY, LIKE A MUTHAFUDGING GOSU COMIN' BACK! Those seats are what, up to 10k each or something, so this is probably the only time in my life I get to ride first class hehe. But yeah, it will be awesome. I'll post some pics or something and have fun feeling like a high-roller lol. Who knows, maybe someone famous will be on my flight!
Here's another song:
:D
Also, the big question: TL is accessible in China, right (iirc it is)? My post rate will probably dip dramatically because the connection I'll be on will be terrible and my time zone will be way off of most of your guys', so I can't really carry on conversations with a lot of you ;;. Also, are there simple ways of getting around the great firewall, and what sites are blocked besides the obvious (e.g. youtube, facebook, twitter, google...any other big ones?)? I'm not that great with proxies/VPNs... It shouldn't interfere too much for the duration of the trip right? Mostly just social media/video sharing sites I guess?
And how does one deal with jetlag D: I've heard that it's one day per hour to get used to the time zone difference, but I don't want to wait 9 days to adapt; can it be sped up without what, a lightbox? I've heard of the fasting idea but I'm not exactly sure what it works out to... FWIW, I'm PST.
I'll be somewhat busy there, and probably won't be able to post on TL at all for the last two weeks or so of my stay unfortunately, but it'll be a fun trip. Beijing is approaching triple-digit temperatures in Fahrenheit or high 30s in Celsius, so it'll be ridiculously hot compared to California (though it's actually quite hot here at the moment). Also...the smog, boo. And the humidity.
All in all, just hoping for a great time! Last time visit to China was no less than 8 years ago, so it'll be interesting to see it again after so many years
And another!
Hm...what else? Oh right, gogo Roger for Halle and then WIMBY!! I really hope he can take Wimbledon and the Olympics. Two big events for sure, and winning both would almost certainly push him to No. 1 and get him that record for most weeks at No. 1 overall. This year is probably his best shot because of late run last year and his run at the beginning of this year. Plus he's getting older, and he probably won't be able to continue his attacking style with as much success as he gets older. You can already tell now--he's not nearly as fast as he used to be, nor as good of a closer, and not as clutch or dominant. He still has those moments of absolute brilliance but he can't sustain this level for long enough to win against Rafa/Djoko especially unfortunately. His anticipation is still phenomenal and he has a lot of experience by now, but he's already not in his prime, playing against players who are in their prime or near it. BUT he's still fantastic, and this year is probably the best shot he has at getting that world No. 1! Allez Federer~~!
And hoping for a Heat victory in the finals so LeBron can finally get a ring OKC is damn good but I think Miami is capable of winning this year :> so far it's been scary with the role players emerging at critical times but they probably won't be able to put up those points consistently so I hope Wade and Bosh especially can step it up and LBJ proves that he can be clutch.
Also SGS3!! Can't wait, already pre-ordered. It'll arrive before I get back to the states but I'm still excited. I have a grandfathered unlimited plan from Verizon so that's pretty cool. No doubt they'll have gotten rid of grandfathering by my next device, though. In line with electronics, I also got myself a pair of RE-262s, which are my first expensive/legitimate pair of headphones, as well as a FiiO E6 amp to go along with them. I'm no true audiophile by a long shot, but I figured since I listen to music so much each day, I might as well splurge and get some nice headphones.
Hm....and I think that wraps it up! Just my thoughts at the moment.
A final song, if by now you still aren't repelled by music taste ^^:
Unfortunately I'm not the most concise of writers/bloggers, something to work on in the future (as well as the sort of....overenthusiastic way I write at times). Sorry for the ridiculous length; as you can see, I am rather bored at the moment~

Ah I see, yeah I googled around and found a site that checks whether websites are blocked in China and realized TL isn't blocked fortunately. But yeah, anticipating the terribad speeds D':

Oh my God I like/am a fan of everything in your signature except for Stork because I never played BW.
On topic, the Great Firewall of China can be surmounted with a few... tricks.

Oh wait! I knew I missed something; ty for reminding me by mentioning my sig (awww yeah, glad you think the same; that's awesome ^____^b ): it's a shame that I won't be able to practice piano in China, as I haven't been able to practice much this year...I've been getting by on <1 hour of playing piano per week (oftentimes 0), and somehow didn't do too shabby (though obviously I'm playing extremely poorly compared to what how well I could be with practice).
I really want to spend some quality time at the piano. Oh well, major grinding time once I get home! Unfortunately it will have to wait until I get back to the US.

Technically the artist is also just a single producer I think, but yeah, close enough :D I noticed that too and thought it was just too fitting, not to mention it's just a fantastic song :3

After 6 months of living in China, TL was one of the few things that I used when I was online. I started off gaming, but ended up going out with the Chinese almost each day. The net can be retardedly slow, funny detail: sometimes faster with VPN than without due to shorter routes and no beijing redirection.

Yeah, I won't be able to game anyway because my laptop is too cruddy.
That sucks though T_T I'm spoiled by cable internet, so I'll definitely have to get used to the crappy speeds.
Yep, in China right now and TL works like a charm. Hotspot Shield also manages to work (surprisingly), so consider that if you want a free VPN software for bypassing the firewall.

for jetlag if you're arriving in the morning just do an all-nighter before the flight and just pass out on the plane. when you arrive you'll have enough sleep and can stay up to your normal sleeping time and sleep then. if you arrive at night get adequate sleep before getting on the plane and stay up watching movies or whatnot. when you get there you'll be tired from the trip and the lack of sleep and you should be fine.
i haven't had jetlag for the past 3 times i went to korea (14 hour flight) after i started doing this lol
Oh thanks so much for the advice, dropping dem pearls of wisdom :D
Sounds like a plan, I'll try to combine that with the "not eating for approx 16 hours before the time you want to wake up" and see where that takes me! I arrive in the early afternoon so I'll try not to sleep on the plane I guess.
But grr...on the return flight I get home in the morning, meaning I'd have to sleep through most of the return trip while I'm in the luxurious first-class area...I'll figure out what I want to do when the time comes then, maybe I'll just choose to suffer some jetlag and spend some time exploring whatever awesomeness first-class has to offer~

haha if its early afternoon it should be fine to pull an allnighter and sleep on the plane. unless you like dem movies haha i personally find the plane really boring so even if i arrive around up to 4PM i do an allnighter and sleep on the plane and crash at around 12-1am. you're going to be exhausted from the flight/moving around after arriving so sleep will come to you. you'll probably wake up early if you're like me because i can't sleep for long in an unfamiliar environment until i get used to it. not sleeping on a plane for 9 hours can be extremely difficult and boring only time i stayed up on such a long flight was when my 14hour flight arrived at 12AM
Hmmm.....yeah that makes sense. Okey dokey then, sounds good, I'll be traveling alone too so it's probably best just to sleep through the flight to China at least hehe. I probably won't be able to pull an all-nighter but I'll see what I can do and try to conk out on the flight. Thanks again for the info/advice ^^
