I participated in a discussion recently about how veteran TL posters look back on their first posts on the site, and realize how stupid they were back then. I thought it might be fun for this to be a thread where people share their first posts on TeamLiquid. Maybe provide some commentary as you look back. :D
Staff and prominent community members are strongly encouraged to share their first posts, so that we may laugh at them.

I'm not really sure how to search for my first post, since if you go into post history it's sorted by Last Message in the thread...
I think it was either this one: (in a thread about the mineral blocks in Medusa)
Actually I think the minerals are actually worth "0" there so you can keep on mining them when attempting to jump...
or this one: (about iCCup Goals)
I wanted to see what level I was - and that was basically through playing as many games as I could. So I succeeded in getting over my fear of playing unknown players over the internet, which was pretty cool since I don't have to play only with my less-skilled friends anymore.
Made C- on one account, though my actual level is probably D+ or something. Definitely looking forward to playing more now that the mental hurdle is gone.
Pretty cool to see (especially the iCCup one), since that was the beginning of my journey through playing competitive Brood War. Three years later, I made it to C, and blogged about it too! I can die satisfied now.Last edit: 2012-06-18 10:24:36 |

Oh yeah, here's how to find a complete overview of your posts, including of course your first one. Go to this link:

And then just change the number at the end of the URL to what page of your posting history you wanna go to. For example, my posting history is 81 pages long so if I wanted to find my first post I'd add 81 instead of 1 at the end of the URL. |

I feel like being physically fit helps all aspects of your life though. Exercise can increase the size of cerebral blood vessels, and people who regularly exercise have more efficient circulatory systems - resulting in additional glucose and oxygen to the brain. Maybe it wouldn't make a difference, but in an environment where fractions of a second can be the difference between a win and a loss, it's something to think about.
I think that adding an hour a day of solid exercise could actually be beneficial to a hardcore gaming training program :D |
