Music im listening to right now + Show Spoiler +
well ive just been really pissed off after reading this thread on reddit
http://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/vklf8/if_youre_not_angry_youre_not_paying_attention/
I know all of this shit that goes on, and I'm sure many of you do as well. There is so much that is fucked up in our world, and we need change.....
change. Funny word. Politicians have been using it for years to gain the hopes and minds of the voters, when all they do in office is, yes you guessed it, absolutely fucking nothing differently.
Change change change, we all need change. This generation will surely be the key to our struggles! We will prevail!
Basically, every generation says what I have written above, and we are still all fucking idiots. I hear about these issues so much. I see hope on the internet, everywhere I go. I think it is the most pure place on the planet. People are free to share their ideas. For example, the current republican election has Mitt Romney winning by a landslide, and has the people on land convinced. But us internet dwellers (haha this sounds funny) see the true light. Go on to any video on youtube regarding ron paul or mitt romney, and you will see a full bar of green or red respectively. We all know what is going on. This is because the people who use the internet are generally younger, educated and knowledgeable people.
The internet has changed our world. No generation before us could see the world at their fingertips. I am barely 18 and I have seen ever part of the world, every problem and success in history (broad generalisations here) without even leaving my bedroom. I see what is wrong. Millions of other do as well. Why are we so powerless? Why do we still get buttfucked by crazy old politicians who, the majority of which believe in a magical being in the sky (and if you're talking about Mitt Romney, he believes that jesus came to America....WTF WTF WTF)
Maybe this generation, with the power of knowledge, will change the world for the better. Maybe we will be the first step forward in, not having a perfect society, but a damn good one with a lot less flaws than today.
Or maybe, I will go through my life seeing everything go corrupt and fucked up, just like every generation before me........
Haha, i just wish the whole world would wake the fuck up, co operate with each other. Just look up for fucks sake. Look how big the stars are, our universe. Then realise how fucking pathetic it is that we all can't get along, due to holy scriptures written thousands of years ago and deluded politicians who run for their own resume, not the country

If you're talking about all the porn and trolling and general filth, you're missing the point of the internet and why a free one is so important. |

I think, sir, that the problem lies in this attitude:
I have seen ever part of the world, every problem and success in history (broad generalisations here) without even leaving my bedroom. I see what is wrong. Millions of other do as well. Why are we so powerless?
You are powerless because you're in your bedroom, and have no experience in the world. That is mostly true of the "Millions of other [sic]" that you refer to.
Read up on this guy, Gene Sharp. He thought about problems, and came up with a way to solve them non-violently. That's what you're looking for. The problem? Inaction rarely brings about change.
However, I wish you well in your search. After all, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." -- Margaret Mead |
