Hello everyone!
For the few of ya'll that have seen my other entries, you'll know that I like taking pictures. I recently heard that IPL was hosting an event in LA, and when I heard that DRG was going to be there, well I didn't really hesitate to buy my ticket.
I got to the venue a bit late (Hero and Illusion had just finished up game 3) but when I did, it was quite a sight to behold. Rows and rows of cars, all tricked and decked out to the max. I finally did find the IPL booth and for the rest of the event went back and forth between SC2 and cars.
Although it was only a 4 man tournament, the venue actually went on longer than the import car show. In fact, around game 2 of the Hero-DRG finals, the lights actually all came on which made it impossibly hard to see the screen. It wasn't for another 5-7 minutes before they actually dimmed the stage area lights again for us. In the end, the wait was worth it for me, as I'll detail later after the pictures

So after the event ends... I decide to stick around a bit. I talked a little with Cats/Doa (who, even after casting for 6-7 hours straight, was still willing to help out the IPL crew break down the set and clean up).
Illusion by this time was long gone, so it was basically the 3 Koreans left along with their translator, Jessica. They were trying to figure out what to do with dinner and since I was also starving, I did what any sensible fan would do and offered to give them a ride to Koreatown for some late night dinner. And them being the sensible pros that they are, agreed! ^^
Now I know it's not the same as say having Kobe Bryant or Derek Jeter riding in your back seat, but it was definitely a little surreal haha. However, when you get to talking with them, you realize how chill and down to earth they are. And at the end of the day, all the Korean players are really buddy buddy with each other.
I unfortunately didn't bring my camera with me while we ate (Korean BBQ, of course haha) and there were no after party shenanigans (Hero and DRG had early flights out the next morning), but all in all, it was a good event, and an even better ending!
