Long time, no see TL :D I'm pretty much settled back in the UK by now (got a job, covered my room in posters, nearly driven my Mum insane asking for cake tins.) The great thing about being back is that I can bake again. I've not had access to an oven for five years, so it's a slow process. Today I was in a baking mood, so (with limited access to new ingredients because I'm broke), I baked a couple of cakes.
Does anyone have any recommendations for good flavor combinations/recipes? I'm really enjoying baking for our household (and my friends.) Even if I can't eat too many slices due to my on-going diet. I'll add new cakes/projects as I make them.) I need to perfect my apple cake before Vek (long-time TL buddy) comes to visit, and Mum recently purchased a mini cupcake maker which needs testing.
the chocolate cake one looks yummy, but looks kinda small lol, for like one person u should bake moar for everyone on TL do u write down recipes or just make it up as u went along also add what they tasted like! =D
The day before christmas my true love gave to me: Teamliquid | [23:55] <Shock710> that was out of context -_-

I didn't add enough flour to that one (It's only for 3 people so it should be enough), but I think the quantities for the coconut sponge were just right for my size of baking tin :D I've just been doing the measurements by eyeballing it (we don't seem to have any scales at the moment.) I'll probably start following proper recipes if I cook anything more complicated than a sponge though :D I'll definitely add comments about the taste/texture etc.

I came into this thread thinking of "baking" otherwise...
The sponge cake looks sooo good, imo because of the beautiful crust you got going on there. I love sponge cakes for their crusts, more than the "interior" part, because the crust is always a zone of concentrated sweet goodness. And yours looks to die for.

5/5, both cakes look really delicious!

It's not going to be just peanut butter. So I guess it's a rating for the concept, the photos, and whatever cakes you do fancy once I add more in the future. Someone rated it 1, so I guess they hate cake lol.
