Hellooo.....

How are you all doing? Hope your all having a great summer learning and living. Been pretty busy myself the last few weeks. The monsoon season has hit and things have cooled off a bit, but brought a humid, mugginess not too common here any other time of the year. Mosquitoes harass us as the cicadas whine so loud in the multi-colored sunset ducking the flying Palo Verde beetles.

The family and I made the 8 hour or so drive to Orange County and Disney Land. I have way to much fun there for sure. This year was my sons first time going, my daughters 3rd time going, the last time 7 years ago. We brought along one of my daughters friends from school to help keep her company.

The differences between my 2 children shocked both my wife and myself. My daughter, at the same age as my son, was a daring ride rider and had no interest in any of the characters. Where my son loved the slow and predictable rides only and loved meeting any and all characters. His favorite ride when asked was the island in the center of the River of America, when asked which part of the trip he liked best he replied the beach.... T_T he is no son of mine ... hahah

I made balloon hats for myself my daughter and my daughters friend each day we were at Disney Land. We got tons of comments and mad props for the balloon creations. Almost everyone who asked did not believe I had made them, up until I gave them one of my biz cards. I even got to meet Larry Dotson who was a fan of my work ....I am such a fan of his work!! www.larrydotson.com I handed so many Biz cards out there even giving some to some people who live in my town!!

I happened to see a couple wearing gaming gear and not just any and EG shirt and a Blizzard shirt.Happened to yell a quick EG at them which they took for GG and yelled GG back!! Then I happened by them a 2nd time where they complemented me on my TL shirt ( I wore one everyday there)

Started back at the photo job this week its nice to get out and take pictures again, the fall season is so much better than the spring IMO.

In other news I wanted to say a huge thanks to Probe1 who feeling like he owed me for something bought and sent me a TL sweatshirt!!! <3 he needed not do so but I am so excited for it.I have yet to take it out of the package I want to save it till it gets cold here T_T so long away here in the desert. But Thank you thank you thank you sir Probe!

The caricature I got from a young guy named David who works on the peir in California Adventures and in New Orleans in Disney Land. He had a zombie drawing up and so I asked him to zombify me with a balloon hat on that was what he made <3

And of course, I always rock TL shirts !!!

OMG WINNIE POOH!!!

I still feel sorry for them whenever I see pics of those guys. When I was like 4 years old I asked my grandma if there were real people in those outfits and how come that if they're real people it's not too hot for them. Not believing her when she told me that they indeed WERE real I kicked Winnie Pooh in the balls to confirm authenticity. ._.

I think I never saw someone ask that question in one of your blogs, so I'll go ahead and do it: How did you learn this stuff? Great thread as usual. =)

How I learned....

Well the beginning would be being challenged to blow one of the balloons up in the first place. I was unable to do so. I bought a bag that day and over the course of a few months I learned how to blow them up. That was shortly before the 2007 WCG world finals, where I bought a bag or two of balloons and tried making things in the hotel room with D4D and others. I was not impressed with the balloons then, so I dropped them. in 2009 May I watched a documentary on Netflix called Twisted: a Balloonamentary witch impressed me with the ART that could be done with balloons. I found some local balloon people that held a weekly gathering and started attending, feel in love with the art form, found out I had a knack for it and started winning some awards and really perusing the art. And here we are!!
