Hey TL!

I have a quick summer recipe for you: balsamic roasted figs (or overseers hah)
Like always, these photos are direct from my blog. Any new recipes from my blog will always be cross posted to TL.

INGREDIENTS

salt
pepper
balsamic vinegar
1/3 cup feta
6 black mission figs (cut in half)
1/2 cup of arugula

PROCEDURE

Pre-heat your oven to 350°F (~176°C).
Cut your figs in half.
Place figs on a baking sheet (if you have parchment paper, place this on your baking sheet for easy clean up).
Salt and pepper your figs.
Drizzle balsamic vinegar over your figs. Make sure your figs are coated. You will want to have a little bit extra of balsamic vinegar to use for a salad dressing.
Roast in the oven for about 25-30 minutes. Figs will be golden and the balsamic vinegar will have been reduced.
Remove figs from oven and let cool for about 5 minutes.
Place arugula on a plate.
Spoon up any reduced balsamic vinegar from the baking dish and drizzle it over the arugula.
Place figs over the arugula.
Sprinkle feta cheese over the figs.
Crack pepper over the dish.

And you're done!

Last weekend, I attended my first ever SC2 event: IPL TAC3 in San Francisco. It was incredible! The games were awesome. :D The pros were awesome. The casters were awesome.

I made a cheerful! By the way, the bottom says "Probe Parade". Probe Parade is an inside joke with my old coworkers (who all watched starcraft and were pretty much the reason I started playing). I used to draw those 'probes' everywhere and hide them around the office.

I took pictures with a few of the pros who did humor me by making that stereotypical Asian peace sign gesture with me. Except Taeja .. He has his own style:

Taeja didnt choose the thug life. The thug life chose him. :0

I also had a chance to speak with DoA during one of the breaks. Awesome guy! Thanks for the highfive, DoA!

I had way too much fun at this event. I hope that there's another SC2 event in SF. <3 I really would love to go to the IPL5, but I'm planning on heading to Austin, Texas for the inaugural Grand Prix of the Americas F1 race.

For some reason, I kept reading "figs" as "pigs".

Damn, roasted pigs would have been more awesome. =)

Not a big fan of figs so I probably won't try this one. The pictures aren't that bad

and keep the healthy food choices coming!

I don't think my oven is big enough to roast an entire pig!

I may make a non-traditional kalua pig recipe for the blog.

I tried it out before and it was pretty good! Of course, baking in the oven is no way comparable to cooking it in a pit.

Well, you could always roast a suckling pig, it should fit in your oven!

I'm not an expert on cooking giant slabs of meat, but how different is cooking an entire animal compared to cooking a smaller slab of meat?

Just based on the sheer size, it will take much longer to cook an entire animal. Probably maybe 6hrs+ depending on the size of an animal.
You usually want to slow roast the animal as well. "Slow and Low" is kind of the approach you want to take (at least for bbq).

I have a picture with Hero where he just looks exhausted (this was prior to the second Bo9). Poor guy.

I've had people creep on my photos on other forums, so now if I post any picture containing myself, I try to blot it out. Really, this photo is more about Taeja and less about me.

I mean, if you try hard enough (or are creepy enough), I'm sure you can just find that image on my facebook. :\
