So how do you get by? 1000 hours a year is around 50% of standard work hours (40hrs/week, 52 weeks/year = 2080). Do you work a part time job outside of the volunteer stuff?

It must be nice to have the time to be able to invest on not making money! I'm working 10 hours a day just to slide by between supporting my family and making college loan payments, any volunteering on top of that would significantly impact my quality of life, but I guess I'm just selfish and want to play video games and hang out with my wife during the down time 
What's the rest of your life look like? How much time do you spend working and how much time do you take for yourself? |
