End of day feelings: Pretty Good
Things focused on: 50 SCVs at 10:00 and nailing down this build order
Completion of Focus: Not bad, worst game I had all night was oly 42 SCVs, and usually in the 45-48 region.
End of Day Placement: Bronze (Top 8!)
Well I was supposed to lay out my goals, and I did! So here they are:
Short(1 week):20 games
Medium(2 weeks): Consistent 3rd base (as in expansion, I'm married, so never get to 3rd base  )
Long(1 month): Promotion to Silver
They aren't that lofty of goals. 20 games should be really easy to pull off (I played 5 today) but if life happens then I can still have it be achievable. Putting up my 3rd CC has been an issue for me lately. I'm only just now starting to get a feel of where my 3rd base SHOULD be. But my SCVs are comin' along nicely so I can start to worry about other things a bit more.
As for the month goal of getting a promotion, I really don't know if that's realistic or not as I don't understand the promotion mechanic very well, from what I've read it looks like there is a hidden ELO style rating they call an MMR which they take the moving average of and compare it to some other hidden arbitrary levels and use that for promotions. So other then guessing by seeing how much you're favored against different level players your'e in the dark as to how close you are to promotion.
As far as actually playing goes I spent at least 2 hours today practicing my full build with the factory and the starport and then swapping the two to pick up the reactor for the starport and all of that. I am getting pretty good at building everything but am forgetting to check the factory and starport as much as I'm checking my CCs and Barracks. So that is going to be the first thing that I work on is my "tapping."
I played a game with another bronze player that I talk to quite a bit and then helped him for a bit to try and help him improve, which is always good because it helps to cement the facts in my head and hopefully helps him too.
Then I finally played on the ladder a bit... and my first game I played was against a platinum. My first game against a platinum and I have to say that in the first 10:00 I played better. My macro wasn't as crisp as I'd have liked but I still moved out with a bigger army and more SCVs than him. Unfortunately I moved out a little too late and he had a couple of tanks sieged up on high ground and I wasn't able to bust through, but when it was all over I was even with him so it didn't hurt too bad... then he proceeded to tear me apart because he was TONS better at the middle game then I am, and finally he attacked with battle cruisers and I lost. Oh well, the first 10:00 (the part I've been focusing on) was mine.
After that I played a few more games (my macro did get better and my last game was pretty smooth comparatively) and won the last 2 games I played. Ended up 2-3 on the night, not too bad. But it was definitely nice to have tanks and medivacs to play with again, especially tanks.
