Hello Teamliquidians!!
Dad (this is mostly just because Naz had asked a long time ago)
Where to begin with my Dad? I guess first off he is not my Dad... Funny he has the exact same name as me (Daniel.. yeah its not FuDD) but he met my mom well after my sister and I had entered this world.
He met my mom at a nude strip club. My mother the classy dancer, my soon to be dad the stoner cowboy all of 21 years old. Not sure what happened then I was 4 years old or so but it was lust at first sight or something. My mom and dad were married not even 9 months later.
I can not imagine taking on 2 small children 4 and 3 yrs old at 21 yrs old not even my kids to boot.
I think the lifestyle my mom lead really turned my dad from the cowboy lifestyle (riding bulls/broncos in HS etc) that and my uncle who is older than my dad buying a Harley. Despite the begging's my dad grew fascinated and threw us all into the biker lifestyle.
It was in elementary school sometime around 3rd grade maybe 2nd when we first moved to Yuma, Az. My dad had met some guys from a club there and I still am unsure of the details we suddenly were in Yuma. My dad prospecting for a club my mom still stripping, but I had a baby sister now.

Memories and me are few and far between not sure why but I dont remember much from certain times growing up it all meshes together being alone/caring for my siblings, parents gone or fighting, moving a few times a school year.
Something happened, Im not sure, but the guy sponsoring my dad in the club messed up bad, still have no clue what he did. And if he messed up then my dad messed up no matter what so we all had to leave Yuma.
Things got better then. Nintendo came out that year, we got one with robby the robot and the game gyro-mite. Mom was still stripping my dad had a steady mechanic job at a Texaco and tattooed out of the house, still rode his bike but they were clean other than smoking pot by my dad things were good I now also had a little brother. 2 boys 2 girls I am the oldest.
Nightlife was still a huge part of our family my mom having worked every nude and topless joint in town plus numerous tours up and down the coast doing different engagements at clubs etc. Somehow my dad re-connected with the old club. And just like that life was turned upside down.
Same club but this time My dad got his patch, full member status... Things were nuts for awhile, from 10 till about 14 or so my dad and the club produced, sold meth, dealt in most things you can attach to a biker club living on the border of Mexico being a support club for the Red and White.
My mom and dad were pretty into parting and meth, they fought allot.
I remember one time coming home from somewhere,( grocery store I dont know) I just sat in the car they were at each others throats, my mom whacking my dad with her purse, she runs in the house comes back out he gets out and suddenly she stabs him right between the eyes with a fork it stayed in there flopping around as he proceeded to drag her into the house all the time shouting at me "its ok we are just playing" My mom saying "call the cops" I had no clue what to do luckily for all of us the neighbors in the trailer court called the cops...
Needless to say things were not the best. My mom left my dad multiple times. Finally the last time was for good. My dad agreed to go, they were going to get clean and get things going right.
It was after school one day, i was at home sitting in the living room when 3 guys from my dads club come in with guns out. 2 of these guys had lived with us on and off over the years one had been like a best friend to me... funny thing is he still is OO they beat my dad senseless with gun butts and fist and boots and take him away.It would be close to 2 years before I got to see him again.My mom and us kids left a few days after that, back to Tucson, some other trailer court this time no dad.
My dad had to "work" off his debt to the club. He tattooed and mechanic-ed for them for a long while. Finally they let him go.With a warning never to come back.
Im in High School things are mellow but there is little money, 4 kids a single room trailer adn I live in a truck camper with a space heater in the "yard", But my dad and mom are clean (dad still pot head) and my mom stopped working the clubs. She had stopped dancing a few years and just did "house mother " things pretty much the girls manager. she made sure they had no powder hanging off their noses and were on stage when needed, costumes in order etc. Dad is back doing the mechanic thing making some bucks doing house tattooing.
I was turning 16 in a day or two and my sister was hit by a telephone poll, I was supposed to have been with her we both had friends that were supposed to be staying over. all four of us had goin to a party and turns out it was an acid party (lsd). At the time I had never done it and thought it was stupid my friend and I went off to do nerdy things like play M:TG (ohh yeah box of Beta boosters baby dont ask all my cards got stolen) I got home around 2 am with my buddy Brian got to my "room" to have my dad appear asking about "where is your sister" ummm shes still at the party I tell him having no clue where she is. " no she was in an accident your mom is at the ER with her now"
Apparently she and her friend had left the party and were walking done Grant rd when some drunk guy speeding. Hits a cab in the left lane over corrects and hits a telephone poll goes through it takes out a hydrant and then still manages to wrap the truck, tail touching hood around a jiffy lube sign, Missing my sister and her friend(on lsd mind you) only to have the telephone poll hit her in the head. Fracturing her skull,jaw, pelvis. I tell this to you because the person who first called it in was a full patch member for the Dirty Dozen motorcycle club (a few years later taken over by the HA) Psycho Mike who was on the roof of the DD clubhouse only a couple hundred yards from the scene of the accident.He had been watching for police apparently lol.
Mike and my Dad became friends and my dad was asked several times to join the DD or rather to prospect for them. My dad was a hangaround and stopped due to a combo of heavy handedness from the HA moving in and my Mom not wanting anything to do with club life.
Fast forward a bit as many know my dad is in a club again has been for the last 12-13 years or so. He is the VP he is a much mellower guy having some crazy days in the past I have a couple blogs about past stuff with him ill link here. He owns and operates a Tattoo shop, loves his grandkids,kids, Bikes,dog,wife, club.
We have been through hell and back as a family.... I love that man Just like he is my Own Father.He is my Father .

You have certainly led a more intense life as I had as a kid. I can't even imagine how I would have handled that.
I always need some time acclimatising to new surroundings like going to a new school or starting in a new job. Especially as a child it was difficult for me to adapt to a new class in school and having to find my way around all over again. How do you handle adjusting to a new class/surrounding a couple of times a year?
Also did you always new what your father was into and accept the risk of him being threatened by guys with guns?
For me personally the fact that my father would produce drugs wouldn't be a problem as I see (and saw as a kid) no problem with drugs in our society but the surrounding atmosphere would be harder to accept I think. Not sure how I would cope/handle that. Being the kid I was I would most likely try to take everything a piece at a time and go read a book in a corner.

While I was younger I had no Idea socially, and law wise that what was going on was necessarily bad. But I was raised to distrust the police etc. Take care of your own biz etc. I knew something but it was not till later in life you start connecting dots, and talking with my parents etc.
The hardest part was moving all the time usually just far enough to have to change schools. Once in awhile out of city etc. I played alot by myself, or with other bikers kids. etc. As I got older 6th grade etc I read all the time. Dragonlance books were my fav. I got in trouble many times in school for reading instead of classwork.... Of course reporting it to mom and dad was pointless they never enforced much of anything on my sister and I, my younger siblings had an easier road fortunately. |

| I'm amazed you manged to get out of all of that without turning to drugs and becoming like your parents. Also nice to see reality is not like in the movies where you'd get killed on the spot for wanting out! |

Reading this is incredibly interesting; I'm aware that people grow up in this kind of atmosphere but I've never heard a first hand account of it before.
Have you written/are you planning to write a blog about your current lifestyle, possibly comparing it to your years growing up? |

Short answer BW... but that's obvious. One of my roommates way back before kids etc. as a matter of Fact 1998, My roommate had a computer, and we used to play the shit out of Warcraft2, and Starcraft, when BW hit it was over. I honestly have no clue who it was that told me about the site.
At the time I was playing alot with Meta, Commander, Excal_z, Psylo. Option , Many of the gg-manner/cal peeps and channel wis (H_W still one of my fav teams)Someone from there I am sure told me about it. I was familiar with the first TL and when they started this version I finally made an account after a little bit. |
