| Can't really say what kind of questions theyre gonna ask. They all vary by interview. Expect the unexpected. Some obvious questions would be like the ones you listed above. Interviews are all about first impressions. Look sharp, be clear, dont be fidgety, be confident, sincere, and just be yourself. |

prepare questions about the school ahead of time. you should have lots and lots.

Unless any of us have experience in selection processes for university, I honestly think any advice we have to offer will be very skewed by circumstance. There's no way to take your experience going to interviews and take the results and conclude what is a good interview from that, because you don't even know what they thought of your interview and your sample size is incredibly small. There's just no way to know what effect your interviews had or even how they went.
So I'm not going to pretend to know how to make your interview good. I would say, first of all, it depends on the school. One of the universities I went to was simply looking for a studious person who was smart and did well on their SAT, someone who they thought listened to their parents and showed up to class, did their homework, and would likely continue this at university, leading to success.
Another university I went to would take just about anyone; I don't even think they interview, and if they do, it's a sham because people expect to be interviewed. Anyone can get in. I know this because I see literally anyone as a freshman there.
So if you are a high school graduate you probably don't have the exposure to imagine various schools and how their desirable freshmen differ, let alone how the interviewers view it, but that kind of perspective would help.
You can put up this whole imagine of, you are reliable, dedicated, know what you want to do, etc. But it's disgusting if any incoming freshman truly is that. If you think the interviewer knows this, they will probably be checking for raw ability, potential, not just academically but to organize your life around your studies, and to show how seriously you think of university. These days just having thought things will probably put you over the top. Of course that's hard to do when you just want to please them so you can get in so you can please X or get job Y.
IDK. Why did you read this? |

One of my short essays is actually on StarCraft I guess I am decent at coming up with answers on the spot..unless she asks questions like what animal I would be.

| Be honest, genuine and don't just start talking to fill up time. It's ok if you pause to consider the question. |
| | There you have it. It didn't come from the government down. There was no dictum, no declaration, no censorship, to start with, no! Technology, mass exploitation, minority pressure, carried the trick. |

Is this for some kind of scholarship of some sort? If not then I'm not sure that this still applies. Most of my friends were interviewed by UC Berkeley for the Regent scholarships and were asked several "random" questions. These questions would usually not be related to things specifically about the school. Some of them were in fact hypothetical situations regarding the state of society and test how the student would react in certain situations. To sum it up: there really isn't anything you can do to "educate" yourself right before such an interview because these questions would show your knowledge of current events and well bs. |

| Yes honesty is the best way to go, do not write yourself a pre-made speech or prepare anything at all. Just think about all the poignant moments in your life and your goals for the future, sounds cheesy, I know, but you have to go in there with eye contact, and act like your natural self. Experienced interviewers will catch on if your restraining and hesitating. If you believe in your ideals, all that fear and nervousness will subside as time goes on and it gets deeper. Go get em'. |

ask lots of questions
ask lots and lots of questions
avoid stupid ones though like wheres the bathroom
also just be honest, sit up straight, speak clearly and calmly, and if you have any physical disabilities (like dyslexia or strabismus) then let them know before you begin.
Also strong handshake. |
