Does anyone know how to do the Tyler Durden hairstyle in the early parts of Fight Club (not the later parts when he has a buzz cut)? I've been looking all over the place to find how to do it (because it isn't just a sloppy spike or whatever, there's something different about it), and I can't find anything on how to do this, but I figure there must be something around the internets that would tell me, and I just suck at searching for things.
So, if anyone can help me out, please do!

I sometimes do that sort of messy, spiky hairstyle when my hair is short. Don't use too much gel, just rub it in your hair with 1 hand making it messy and standing up, while using the blow dryer on it with your other hand. The less perfect, the better, especially if you're trying to copy Tyler.
Although it's hard to see, I think this is the best picture of it. It looks as if there is no gel in it, which makes it look so much better.

It's a pretty dated hairstyle...if you try to pull it off now, you're gonna end up looking like a Backstreet Boys wannabe who never grew out of the '90s.
Unless you're dressing up as Tyler Durden or a Backstreet Boy for Halloween or something. |

there's stuff like pomade and other types that do that. a step up from gel. |
