For the past couple of days, nvidia has been giving me annoying prompts saying that my screen resolution could be better if I would just change it to 1280x800. The only problem is that it already is set at that resolution.

| My monitor has a "Resolution Optimization" button that fixes that, maybe you've got something similar? |

Wow how do you keep your desktop so clutter free cali!?
I assume you've already tried setting it to a lower resolution then back up to the max one? I also assume you've rebooted at least once? |

Yes to both your questions.
I hate having anything on my desktop. The only things I ever really have on it are recent downloads. I use the quick launch bar for programs I regularly use and the built-in search function in the vista start menu takes care of the rest. |

open up control panel, open up your graphics driver, click display settings, click on maintain aspect ratio.
if you have it off and you cloes SC or another full screen program that doesn't use the same res as your desktop the comp is probably staying at that resolution despite your res being set to full in your personalize menu. |

| I get that too. But IMO it's because you were playing starcraft, which is played at 640x480 resolution, and when you quit, it reverts back to 1280x800, but the message is meant to show when it changes to 640x480 but since it's a full screen game the message can't show, so Windows waits until it exits full screen mode in which it'll automatically revert back to 1280x800. |
