Bisu: "I will work hard so that I can grab the gold medal." "I think that Jaedong will reach the finals."
-This is the first time that you have qualified to be a national representative for Korea in the WCG. ▲The actual feelings from winning haven't hit me yet. I have failed to qualify to represent Korea in the WCG many times and I thought that I might be eliminated yet again. However, I was able to advanced like this because my luck was good today.
-You've frequently had bad results in the elimination matches. ▲Although my luck was good this round, I feel that my ability has increased as well since the last tournament. Although I've lost to terran players many times in the past, all my matchups have been strong lately, so I was confident this time. I wasn't stuck grabbing onto the coattails of others.
-In the first set against Luxury, you only had to defend his attacks to win. ▲As I was blocking his attacks, the thought that I might lose arose. But as I was defending, I suddenly felt that I was winning. When his overlord died in my main base, that's when I felt that I had definitely won.
-Who do you think will advance to the finals tomorrow? ▲I feel that no matter which player makes it to the finals, I will have a tough time. Rather than being about the prize, I think that the finals will be about respect. The important question is who becomes number 1. But I will definitely be number one, no matter who my opponent is.
-Nevertheless, who do you think will advance?* ▲I think that Jaedong sunsoo will advance. Stork hyung said that he's not confident in winning. Then again, you can't really tell with Stork hyung. He always talks like that (laughs).
-If you were to talk about your prospects for the gold medal. ▲If a Korean player goes out to play in the WCG, they almost always win the gold, so I think that it's definitely within my reach. Although the Korean representatives tend to face each other too early, if it doesn't happen to me, I'm pretty sure that I will win the tournament.
-It must have been difficult to practice since your teammates all went down to Chang-won for the STX Masters Cup. ▲Because we have trainees on our team, I wasn't worried about getting enough practice. Even today, I woke up at 12 o'clock (at noon and the games started at 3), ate some food, played one game, then came to play in the WCG. I think that I will go to sleep early today after practicing a little. There's no one in Seoul right now. I guess I'll just practice online.
-Do you have any last words that you want to share? ▲Our team is going out to the finals in the STX Masters Cup. Although it's a shame that I wasn't able to go out, I believe that my teammates will win it for me. I will try as hard for the gold medal as I did to become one of the Korean representatives for the WCG.

Stork: "I'm very proud that I was able to become the Korean representative for the WCG three times in a row." "I practiced until dawn"
-With today's win, you have advanced to become Korea's representative in the WCG three consecutive times. ▲Although I failed to reach the Hall of Fame, I'm very proud to be able to be Korea's representative three times in a row. I definitely wanted to be within the top 3, but fortunately, I was able to advance (over Jaedong).
-Although you won, weren't you pretty nervous that your opponent was a zerg? ▲When I talked with Bisu, he joked that playing zerg was cheating, but I really thought that I wouldn't be able to win today. Before my series, Luxury hyung lost (to Bisu) and I thought that I should just give up on this season's WCG (laughs). Although Bisu and I joked that playing zerg was cheating when we chatted, his performance was no laughing matter. Although I won today, I still think that playing against zerg is as hard as ever.
-Even so, it seems that your performance today was pretty good. ▲Rather than anything like that, I was just surprised that I wasn't eliminated. Lately, Jaedong's situation is pretty bad because of the FA situation.** I'm pretty sure that I won because his condition wasn't good today. Although Jaedong wasn't able to practice that much, he played well. Rather than being happy, I felt that I have to shore up my weaknesses.
-It seems that it will be enjoyable for you and Bisu to go to China today. ▲After WCG ended last year, we went to IEF together. When I became the national representative, there was a jynx. I went to all of the finals. However, the players that beat me all fell in the 8th round. If Bisu wants to do well in the WCG, he has to keep this jinx in mind (laughs).
-After tomorrow's series ends, your schedule will be pretty empty. ▲I have a request for my manager. Because of these games, I haven't been able to have a proper vacation. Since I'm busy next week, I won't be able to rest then either (laughs). It would be nice if I could get my own vacation (laughs).
-If you have any last words that you would like to share? ▲I was very surprised when the manager visited our living quarters. She was worried that I might have seen fantasy's winners interview. However, I don't think I saw it yet(laughs)***. I practiced until dawn today; I would like everyone to know that even if I'm not playing against zerg, I will still practice like it's the middle of the season.
**+ Show Spoiler + ***+ Show Spoiler +Referring to (T)Fantasy's interview after the round of 16 after he beat Kal. "- Your next opponent is (P)Stork. ▲ I practiced TvP a lot lately so I feel confident*. I will definitely get to the semifinals and have a rematch with (Z)Jaedong" -from this thread, translated by l10f . I read it as "I definitely want to reach the semifinals so that I can rematch Jaedong", but it still sounds a bit cocky and like Fantasy is just offhandedly dismissing Stork and just focusing on Jaedong. No one likes to be ignored, especially a player of Stork's caliber. Source: Stork's Original Interview on Fomos

Good to know Bisu/Stork got closer (chatting privately ^^). It's a great day of being a Taek-Bang fan. Come to China, Protoss boys. I will treat you the best hot pot in the world, haha....
One thing I don't really get, playing against zerg is cheating or cheap?

Awesome! Thanks for the translations...Stork gave a great interview.
I guess in his final answer Stork is joking that January showed up at the KHAN house assuming Stork had lost to Fantasy, and that he might have been hurt by reading Fantasy's interview...? Didn't quite follow that.
Edit: footnote makes it all clear!

Great, thx, but i didnt catch that jinx thing, can someone explain?

Lol, thanks for the translations. It seems that even Stork is making the same excuses us Jaedong fans are making in the thread. <3 Stork and Im glad he advanced. Now jaedong please beat Lux and well have one sick WCG lineup, stronger than last years ^__^.

Nice interwievs, thanks for the translation.
|
Thanks for the translations. And I love that they (Bisu/Stork) joke that Zerg is cheap/cheating.
|
Thanks for the translation. Looks like storky might have been given a hard time about his last interview

I used them as synonyms, but I changed them both to cheating for simplicity.

wow ghostwriter u have NO ICON O__O ur a ghost writer indeed.

I'm guessing the playing Zerg as cheating synonym, Bisu means to say that its so easy that its like cheating your way through the tournament?
|
Bisu - plays one game
Stork - practices till dawn...
|
Nice interviews. It's amazing how stork can be so non-chalant and yet still be so good.
|
Lol even Stork knows he shouldn't have won under normal circumstances
|
Bisu said: Stork hyung said that he's not confident in winning. Then again, you can't really tell with Stork hyung. He always talks like that (laughs).
So true...but, dang it if Stork isn't playing really well this tournament. Return of the Taek-Bang era, anyone?

Good 2000th post Taek-Bang rule again!

It's almost fall. I believe.

Stork actually practiced o_O
|
Bisu's been playing really well in WCG Korea, I hope he gets the gold here and in the world finals.
Lucky Chinese fans will probably get to watch a live Bisu vs JD!
|
It's funny to see how Stork almost had no fans on TL and a ton of antifans. Now he probably is one of the most liked progamers.
Imho he certainly deserves all the praise he gets. Really looks like a great guy and one of the more honest talkers of the scene.

Haha Stork asking for a vacation. :p I find that together with Bisu's 1 game practice to be hilarious, also fun to see they're pretty close. I'm far from a toss fan, but when those 2 are in shape they surely make the scene a lot more interesting.
|
Stork has always had fans. (this sounds wierd, not sure if it's correctly written)
|
Yes Bisu and Stork replays, just when I'm switching from T to P.
|
Wow ~ I'm shocked, and my liquidbet's screwed cus of this semifinal :C

Apart from minor slumps, Stork has consistently been one of the best players over the last two years, topped the Kespa ranking several times, won a ton of medals (mostly silver), and starred in a ton of epic games. He's always had fans, and deservedly. It's not like a round or two in a single tournament has changed or is going to change that.
|
Damn, Stork can always bring the heat when he wants to but he's unwilling to admit it for the most part. Very admirable of him. He can go back to watching anime now :D

Stork's PvZ has improved a lot since a couple years ago. Sure it's still his worst MU, but he's miles ahead of someone like Best or Backho --- he's actually got good PvZ overshadowed by his always-amazing PvT and PvP. He definitely shouldn't be written off against Jaedong, no matter the circumstances.
|
Man, Stork's the man of the day!
He just 2-0 the current OSL champion and while playing his worst MU. Too bad he's not consistent with these stunts.

Imho he certainly deserves all the praise he gets. Really looks like a great guy and one of the more honest talkers of the scene. What? Least fans I can see, but Stork doesn't have that many antifans. Stork has had plenty of times when he doesn't garner interest, but he rarely does something to garner hate. Most antifans is likely to be Bisu (for any number of reasons, including bringing down Savior, and his occasional arrogance).
|
That's why I love Bisu. Good luck agaisnt Stork. It will be an epic PvP!
|
Stork said he didn't make the hall of fame. What's the hall of fame? And which active players are in it?
|
I don't think Stork has had a 'ton of anti-fans' on TL, rather, one extremely vocal anti-fan who happened to write the Power Rank for a long time who may have influenced others.
I've loved Stork ever since I saw that picture of him in a dinosaur costume. I don't care what anyone says, it takes balls of steel to do that.
|
Not really. It's more accepted in Korea than it is in America. It's normally girls that do it but I've seen some dudes do something like that.
|
stork had a lot of anti-fans because he was the main rival of protoss golden boy bisu, and to a lesser extent savior. i think most people have come around on him though

Lol I clicked the calendary to see the time of the games tonight and I got spoiled (yeah my fault)... Thx for the interview, nice for Stork and Bisu... I just hope that Jaedong can win tonight (Yeah Bisu, Stork and Jaedong for WCG). Waiting for VODs T_T

So true.
That, and his silvers really turned a lot of fans(bandwagon types) away from him. But in a way, that made his Incruit OSL win that much sweeter.
Definitely nice to see Stork's playful side in the offseason. The guy has a nice self-deprecating humor. Sounds like a cool guy to hang out with.

Stork was always my favorite player, though his WOW-slump was irritating.
Taek-Bang-Dong era please.

But he actually meant:
I think I will finally get my third lvl 80 character this weekend!
