Hey all,
I have been searching unsuccessfully for the german bw sound-pack.
My search has brought up:
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=17195
...which is exactly what I am looking for, but from 2004 with dead links. Does anyone know anywhere where this might still be obtainable (or have the sounds themselves and would be willing to upload them somewhere)?
Vielen Dank.

I'm interested in this as well. I've searched a great deal trying to find the German audio, but all I get is a wall of dead links. The only one I can turn up is the Japanese one, actually.
If no one knows where to find this, there is another method:
For those of you with the German version of BW, you can run this
http://ftp.blizzard.com/pub/broodwar/SOUNDS/BWSoundUtility.zip
which will create a folder called "Sound" in your BW folder (in Program Files or whatever). This will not modify your game in any way. You can compress this Sound folder and upload it to a webhost or make a torrent or something.

There's a thread here somewhere that still has working links to all of the different soundpacks. I should know, I used it to download them all pretty recently. Let me see if I can dig it up.
edit: Have a look at this post. I play with the Japanese sounds most of the time these days (not that I speak a word of Japanese ^^), but I like keeping the German and French ones around for shits and giggles.

There's a link in the thread you posted to a thread with working links T.T

Why sticky? It comes up perfectly well using the search function.

Maybe some of the other links work, but the German link does not. It goes to a page with no working links to the file.

Just to be clear, neither the German or the French versions have working links (both at this massmirror site).

Oh, sorry. The massmirror ones were working when I downloaded the soundpacks quite recently. I do have the German, French, and Japanese soundpacks, so next time I have my laptop at school (upload speed at home is intolerable) I will try uploading them somewhere.
edit: you're not by chance in victoria are you? I know it's a long shot, but it'd be much easier to just hand off a usb stick to you :p

Don't use the english link. Following opening up the english rar i got a nastyy virus it took me an hour last night to clean. Granted: it might be unrelated but i'd be careful if i were you

Nope, in London ON. I appreciate your effort, but I really think that there are probably many TL users using the German version that might have an easier time uploading the files.

Why not get a german starcraft & bw iso and install that? Torrents available everywhere :p
Also, if you register your Starcraft at Battle.net and enter German as the language you can download german Isos.

[1] I generally shy away from that kind of thing, but I did look a little and didn't find the German version.
[2] This actually does not work for me. I have the Anthology edition registered on BNET (it's the only one I haven't lost) and it only allows me to download the en_US version. Good suggestion, though, I didn't think to try it before.

Hey, sorry, I forgot about this thread for a bit. Anyway, I uploaded the three sound packs I do have:

I don't know how long they'll be around for or how many times it'll let people download them, so if anyone has more permanent hosting somewhere that would be really cool.

this needs to be stuck on front page with KOREAN included. ;b
