Really sketchy on the details but it looks like it's the official name for the new Minor League? Except all teams bar Air Force ACE, and hite will be participating.
Looks like it will be every Monday and Thursday at 1pm KST, no idea if this will be broadcasted or not (cross your fingers). Divided into two rounds rather than five of the normal Proleague.
if idra doesnt get a decent amount of game time this minor league, then his team really has no faith in him, considering his improvement/how long hes been there, etc.

Yeah and it would also say that Idra is still not B-team material.
i am an idiot and i didnt see the other press releases so it will be on monday (3pm KST) AND thursday (1pm KST). and STX and hite have opted to pull out of this so it's only 9 teams.
It's encouraging to see the Minor League is becoming more of a staple, it's a good way for lesser players to showcase their talents in between Starleague qualifiers. Looks like IdrA will have one more thing to practice for in addition to TSL!
This shouldn't have any effect on Proleague. On Mondays PL already starts at 18:30 KST anyways, and there is no PL to be pushed back on Thursdays. Regardless, it's likely this won't be broadcast anyways so there is no reason for PL to be pushed back. The gaming channels have worked out which time slots are optimal for PL by now, and I'm positive they're not going to push PL out of those slots for what is basically a minor league.
Lots of players that already participated in proleague. What are the rules for that? Players that are in the roster for dream league can't play in proleague anymore this season from now on? Or are they allowed to play in both? If they couldn't play in proleague anymore that would leave some teams with very few options for a certain race. For example KT putting in Violet, Rage and Tempest only leaves them with Violet and one guy that never played anywhere so far. Of course Flash + Violet + Luxury + 1 more zerg is the best lineup for KT but i feel that it makes it easier for other teams to predict the lineup if the option of a second protoss is eliminated.
Would rather have a proper Gomtv S4, rather than this : /
oh well, guess we'll just have to make do with what we've got, anyone noticed how thezerg doesn't even get to play on b-teamers or main roster leagues?
Looking forward to games by Idra, is he set to play on any matches on that table thingy?

I don't get it. Just a month ago Killer was still in team A and even sent to 2 ace games. Now he's playing in minor league?? This is probably the right decision, but that even made the previous decision of sending him to aces seemed even more ridiculous. Hwaseung's coaching staff seemed to make really ridiculous calls that could not be explained by anything except retardness sometimes o_O

You don't think once Killer gets better he might take a better attitude toward ace matches than someone who'd never played in one?
Some players what doesn't kill them makes them stronger - maybe Oz's coach saw that Killer had the potential and is thinking long term?
There's all kinds of possibilities here - I'm inclined to believe in the coach who turned Hwaseung from a garbage team to a powerhouse and cultivated Jaedong to his full potential, over a bunch of guys who see ZERO of the practice games and know nothing about a player other than the few televised matches they've watched.
I love it when people on this forum talk out of their ass all day as if the coaches didn't think of the same things that it took them like 3 seconds to think of and post on TL.

If Oz coach thought Killer had the potential, then why demoted him INSTANTLY to Minor League just a few weeks after making him an ace over Jaedong?
I certainly agree with you that no one here is in a better position than the coaches but it doesn't mean that every decision they made are unquestionable. Sometimes they could still make terrible mistakes that even those "who see ZERO of the practice games and know nothing about a player other than the few televised matches they've watched" wouldn't make. It's the same like other sports really - don't tell me that you've never seen a retarded call from a coach in football etc. To me no matter how I look at it the Oz coaching staff failed hard in this Killer case.

I dont think they really made bad decisions. Oz is just giving the inexperience players get the experience and make them carry weight for the team. but i really think Oz coach is thinking really well trying to get a gold somewhere in the future
Re: Why are some modest A team players put on the B team rosters?
Think of B team players like farm teams in sports. Put some players you want to get more experience or need a confidence boost into the lower league instead of riding the bench in the top league. The AHL or Triple A baseball have a lot of players teams want to develop or keep exposed to quality play time.
Getting something like a 25-10 record in Dream league and 1-1 in Proleague is likely to do more for you than something like 1-2 in Pro league. I would be surprised if these were locked rosters that didn't have mobility between the leagues.
Out of curiosity, what would Greg/Idra be put as on a Korean schedule? Would they just use English so you would get "Greg Fields" in a wall of Korean names?
The only matchup that looks remotely interesting is Killer v.s. Mong. Mong showed some promise during the off season. Let's see how well he fares against Oz's 2nd Ace player who apparently just got demoted back to B-team.
If your team's 2nd best player is a B-teamer, be afraid, be very afraid.
Oh, and I LOL'ED at Chavi's record. He is the perfect 50% player.
At least we aren't seeing Midas show up on rosters. Even though WeMade isn't even playing. There's unusually more new blood than old blood, it seems to me.

Don't know if these were played today or yesterday, as normally these games are played on Thursday (Fomos only just released the results today), but here are the results for this week's games:
Fomos (or KeSPA) is getting lazy with the press releases for this ... they didn't publish anything this week's games until the day of - here are the results:
I swear, Coach Cho got some sort of 6th sense for finding talented players. Some of the biggest names in SC originated from his team. It's pity that CJ also has a history of losing talented players to richer teams...
I am very disappointed in TurN, he should be undefeated!
If Idra is going to play he probably knows already. I think someone said 'they' got lazy with the updates and just stopped making a news article for the upcoming matches. So when we get the results next week we know if he played.

idra should just ASK for a game, and say hes very confident. I mean, if hes not given one. Ya never know, confidence and assertiveness might be whats necessary. I remember reading a thing on leg explaining his retirement, and he said he was half assing everything and he thought the coach knew, since he never put him on the lineup. When he asked, Daniel said he would have played him if he asked, showing he had confidence in himself. IIRC.

SnOw has always been an amazing player, almost like the Boxer of protoss, always doing cute little things. It's nice to see him starting to break through.
I don't understand one thing. There are many players in each team training as hard as they can, helping the A-teamers prepare for proleague/starleague, telling them their strategies, hoping that one day they can make it to PL lineup. Why can't coaches reward them at least with this and let them play minor league? Why do they send out players who normally play in proleague?

Flying and Action are doing better then SangHo and hyvaa , and Killer is like tied with Hiya as the second best player in OZ right now .... It's mind blowing at what rate CJ's young players developed Effort is a top 4 zerg in progaming with amazing winrate percentage , Movie is in the OSL finals and Skyhigh although not doing as well he was a clutch player in PL playoffs .
Sadly, it makes sense for ACE not to participate. Or at least I could understand their reasoning on why they're not. According to TLPD, they only have 10 players, most of whom are rotated through their A league lineup. Even if they would probably be on the B team with any other team, they don't really have a B team of their own. I don't know the rules for Dream league, but I'm assuming they could choose to participate had they wanted to, but it may have been a bit embarrassing.
And they are the military team, so I'm sure they have busy schedules with training and all. Probably would have been too much of a burden to participate in another league.
No idea why Hite chose not to participate, though.

Yeah, to clarify, Artosis explained a week or two ago in his Weekly News update thing that IdrA came in at 2nd in the last B-Team in-house ranking tournament. Hamil is a player who appeared on CJ's "official" roster (as provided by KeSPA's website) for the first time this week. I'm not sure if Hamil is even a full pro yet since he wasn't able to play in the prelims last week or anything.
That's why it's a bit worrying, but considering other obligations IdrA has, it would make sense if the coaches want him to focus all his attention on the TSL.

I myself like this choice from the coaching staff: Snow is still weak to pressure, and WL can be very pressuring with the whole all-kill momentums that generate during games. KDL is an easy way to keep have him grind experience vs other teams.

I'm glad to see that CJ's recognizing his potential and playing him. If it wasn't for the fact that Woonjin already has many good zergs (ZerO, Kwanro, Crazy-Hydra SoulKey) I'm sure NSK would get a lot more airtime. His play, even in his losses, are very very solid.

Almost every team is within 2 rankings off itself in both leagues, except for: CJ is in 8th place in Proleague, First in Dream League. STX is 2nd in Proleague, LAST in Dream League

Of all the players that transferred between teams, only a few have made a real difference on their new teams - Midas, and Bisu. (NaDa too, if you count his transfer from ages ago.) All the others have fizzled quickly or made a difference for a short while THEN fizzled, like Lux and July.

if youre losing even in the training matches/tourneys then you just suck and should come back, BUT IF NOT WTF MAN? DONT BE A PUSSIE.
Idra is full time sc2 player. From a few pages back
note: I'm not sure if it was Saint or RevivaL who played. They both have the same name and now that Saint has been demoted to the b-team it gets pretty confusing.

Of course it is, but without him Stars would have lost the last 5-6(?) games. And I doubt the Stars team want that.
yeah but he's still a progamer and it would be awesome for some foreigner to play BW i read the OP. i know he is a "full-time SC2 player" i'm just saying he should -_-
Snow, BByong, and Hydra are the next generation after Movie, sKyHigh, and EffOrt. Just like the latter trio propelled the team deep into the playoffs last season, the former trio will do so this year.

I wonder if Soulkey is going to play in the playoffs. Would be kinda unfair imo...

He was removed from the Proleague roster, not the Dream League roster.
Are there pro gamers who aren't on the Dream League roster or are all B-teamers automatically eligible to play? I assume the latter but thought I'd ask
They did release Dream League rosters a while back at the start of the season but they sort of stopped coming out on Fomos. I suppose it's possible for players that are on the B-team to not be on the Dream League roster but it probably doesn't happen much.

Funny how we had a "fail" generation with Orion, nbs, and Memory. Always have to love every CJ player though <3
CJ's future sure looks bright despite the Savior bullshit.

i not really a hite fan, but you really gotta feel and pull for these guys after getting hit w/ the scandal. They're doing the best they can and can use all the good news they can get.
This is really good for the players to actually get some play time. It probably sucks to be no more than a practice partner with no playtime except in offline prelims where you lose horribly.

do you even watch starcraft
Neo.G_Soulkey plays (and is good), Crazy-Hydra plays, SaiR has played in the past, as has DaezanG more recently. So he's right. Don't know what you're suggesting here.

SK is decent, rest is crap think thats his suggestion
SoulKey is the only one that is PL-viable in that lineup. Crazy-Hydra, SaiR, and DaezanG may get noticed on what little name value they have left but their play is pretty much Dream League caliber regardless.
SaiR did even play in Proleague, despite past experience (mostly failures) - he and the guys above, spare SoulKey are all washed up or simply B-Teamers at the moment. I was under the impression that once a player had reached a certain # of PL appearances (surely 20 should be too many, especially with that record) that he was ineligible for Dream League play, but I guess not.

Well I think I even saw Midas or someone as experienced playing Dreamleague earlier. Or was it even called Minor League at that time.

Yeah thanks, I got the drift of what he was saying. Obviously I agree with Plexa, who, it should be noted said "could possibly.... pass" not "omg this is a PL lineup!"
That takes into account the map statistics as well, by the way. In each matchup the map gives a statistical edge to the player who already had a statistical edge (except Fortress, but it's only 3-4).

Please, I hope you will predict more stuff like this! :D
Just cause Snow is bad in PvZ official matches doesnt mean hes bad in offline ones.
It's funny because right after I posted that I realized it was a total kneejerk reaction to Soulkey v Snow and that I really had no idea how anyone else would play. Iawl. I wanted to edit the post but I was hoping it would turn out to be right so I could play it off.

Most of those guys have been active in Dream League for longer than they've been relevant in Proleague. I imagine that they won't be seen in Dream League next season.
Woooooh go CJ! Sort of feel bad for Orion and nbs. They along with Memory are the race trio everyone has seem to forgotten because of how poorly they performed TT
Uh what are the restrictions of this "Dream League"? What stops, say, Wemade from using their whole A team in this "Dream League" when Snow, a guy who can at the very least make it into individual leagues unlike 80% of all A teamers and has taken Movie's protoss position on the A team, is allowed to bash scrubs into the ground in this B team league?
Same thing goes for Soulkey. A great idea and not surprising CJ won but seems really poorly handled (Kespa not running things well, who would have thought?).

Dream league started last December, a time when snow was still developing and NOT an A-team caliber player. It just so happened that he got pretty good pretty fast, and continued to play in DL to finish off the season, he won't be back next season.

Dream league is for B-teamers. Obviously full time A-teamers can't play in it but some B-teamers who perform well in DL can be promoted to A-team. Right now Snow and Soulkey are kind of in both teams. What do you mean by kespa not running things well? It's not like Snow or Soulkey were this good when DL began.

Just another response to give some more perspective. When this season of Dream League started, BaBy was playing in it.
