Keep any SC2 vs BW comments out of this thread. This is a thread about Brood War and Esports (Tekken Crash, Special Forces, etc) in general. If you discuss what this means for ESPORTS be sensitive about it.

Or just stop equating everything that's good or bad for SC2 as a grand indictment/celebration of every other professional game. Actually it's properly spelled ESPORTS.

I don't give a shit if this will boost SC2 popularity in any way, I just want both games and ESPORTS to prosper.

Yeah but the viewership wasn't high enough to continue it after 2006, which is why in 2007 it was on G4 and now they don't do it at all anymore. To be fair, it was highlight clips and a general overview of each tournament with a good production value and it wasn't anything close to live (The first episode aired like 8 months after the first event). Meaning as of right now, there isn't really a good market for it to be successfully put on television outside of Korea. StarCraft 2 was on USA in 2010.

Seems like only yesterday when we had all of this to look forward to in a single year: WCG Korea WCG GOM MSL OSL PL/WL I'm trying to be as optimistic as possible, but with the way the "Nothing has been decided yet" article was worded, along with the reported twitter comments by the commentators... I just don't know. BW fighting~

Then get them to broadcast SC2BW and eventually everyone will watch that. Screw SC2 I don't believe thats possible. I remember reading somewhere that a problem with recreating BW feel was due to the fact that in BW a unit can only move in 16 different directions whereas in SC2 its pretty much infinite. Theres not point if it looks like BW but doesn't feel like BW. It's possible that someone would figure it out, or that Blizzard could actually just make a setting for this in the editor. They constantly update the SC2 map/mod editor to have new features that are only useful in very limited circumstances. This could be one of those circumstances. What are the chance you think they will work on it? It's as good as asking them to patch Broodwar.
