Thanks for reminding me about this.
I think we have to rework this one, considering recent events. I might have jumped the gun when the twitter came out, something seemed up back then. I think he is happy now anyway.
Maybe something like an encouragement now that things are going full steam on SC2. I don't know. The actual Jaedong fans can take over too. It was amazing to see a lot of volunteers for this project. Maybe we can have this organized in the future, hopefully on a more positive note.
Needless to say, spoilers for those who missed yesterday's results
But first, this project might take a month or so to complete. Jaedong needs our support now. Please tweet Jaedong your support and words of encouragement now:

maybe we can use #tl<3jaedong
Now with this project,

I am not the biggest Jaedong fan, in fact I am not a Jaedong fan at all, as fan goes. But I'm sure my feeling is similar to others when I read this tweet above. Jaedong is one of the hardest working and most skilled players of all time, and to see him plunged this low is devastating. I think we as a community could do much to help him pick up himself and to regain his form as the Tyrant once more, be it in BW or SC2.
Project summary: This would be like the A Zergling for Jaedong Project but the goal now is to encourage Jaedong, to remind him that he is one of the greatest, and give him the confidence to once again become:
THE PROJECT/MAGAZINE This are just how I imagine them, if there are any ideas/comments please feel free to chime in.
Project Summary The project will be a collection of our posts, words of encouragement, your pictures with "Go Jaedong" whatever, fan art, BR or Analysis of his epic games, etc. You may use your TL ID or real name, depending on you. We shall compile them into a magazine format, to be delivered to Jaedong himself.
Project Start: Immediately, 29 April 2012 Project End: (End of Submission) June 15, 2012 Schedule of delivery of Project: June/July 2012
Proposed Sections (not in order) 1. Introduction on the Project 2. Article on the Rise of the Tyrant (should be as dramatic and hype as possible) 3. Article on JvF (could be incorporated in the above) 4. Me, BW, and Jaedong (personal stories of how you appreciate Jaedong or Broodwar through Jaedong) 5. Fan arts 6. TL and Jaedong (Articles and stuff from TL about Jaedong, LR threads, drawings, etc.) 7. Message to Jaedong 8. Some Jaedong to SC2 stuff? I don't know... 9. Miscellaneous
Tasks that need Volunteers A. Art 1. cover Art 2. layout team 3. compiler of Jaedong pictures and fan art in TL (hwazeung house, banners, etc) 4. artists for comics/manga 5. general task artists
B. Articles/texts 1. About TL 2. Intro on the project 3. For those who want to volunteer, please post with the following format so we could identify you immediately:
example 1 VOLUNTEER: Art team(please refer to the Tasks that need Volunteers section above for choices) Specific contribution: Manga/general/layout/whatever Rest of message

example 3 VOLUNTEER: Compile all TL Jaedong related art Spicific Contribution: as stated Rest of message
For Everyone Else If you can't volunteer on any of the tasks listed above, you can still contribute greaty by posting in this thread your inspirational/encouragement posts, fan art (ms paint, photoshop, hand drawn, what have you), picture of you cheering for Jaedong (click here for awesome example), or any art/stuff you have pertinent to this project. If you can, please post with the following format:
Name/ID (Country) Message
example: Crypto (Germany) Jeadong you must never forget that your fans will allways support you, no matter what results you get and no matter what game you play. We KNOW that you can do it and we KNOW that you are still the greathest and whatever it may be that bothers your mind, let it go, just be yourself and play the game you love like you love it. Some people beleve in God, we beleve in the TYRANT!
Brave and Awesome Volunteers 1. supernovamaniac - bag man, give it to him, he will deliver it to Jaedong! 2. [V] - layout team 3. commiekaze - digital/print art/all-in-one art master! 4. Comput3r - writing, layout, art!
Other Concerns 1. Someone mentioned the need to have it in eMag/wordpress format, which is a good idea. I am not a techie person, so in case this is the direction we take, we need some volunteer(s)/project leaders capable of handling that 2. While I volunteer as the pro tempory initiator of this project, someone might be more capable and more enthusiastic to take over. Don't be shy, just raise your hand. 3. We might eventually need to discuss logistics, specifically getting finances to our ground person (supernovamaniac, et al), for printing/production and delivery fees. 4. You may also send materials such as DVD, sculpture, etc. to go with the magazine. We will discuss later how to do this (supernovamaniac, et al) 5. Someone also mentioned, and yes I overlooked this, but English to Korean translators. Do we need this or do we let Jaedong read it along with a friend of his who can translate it for him. The task for this would be gargantuan. 6. Don't hesistate to post your own suggestions or comments regarding this project.
I was so shocked when I saw him playing yesterday... I couldnt believe that was him playing, except maybe when he almost made a come back against Rush with the cute swarm play with ultras. He soooo wasnt playing by his standard that was frustrating. Rush played well for a b-teamer, but it wasnt something gosu either and that muta/scourge fight against hyvaa toward the end of the game was horrible and pretty much cost him the game. Im almost certain that this horrible play is caused by too much Sc2 practice though :\ (and by that im not bashing sc2, but you just can't be perfect at two quite different game at the same time
This seems like a nice gesture but to be honest it seems a bit much just because of a simple twitter post, especially since it doesn't even sound like he is depressed, what if he was just feeling contemplative like most people do at some point?

I doubt it's only for that reason, but also because he isnt playing by his standard these days and we, as fan and viewers, want to see the Tyrant back in form, be it BW or SC2 as the OP said.

That isn't what's going on here. It isn't "a bit much" for fans to send their support. Do you follow BW? Jaedong is slumping. Everyone on his team is slumping. I am not confident Sea will advance in his group tonight, because he hasn't been winning games.
Jaedong, I never played BW, but I have been depressed before. There is no reason to be sad, life has lots of ups and downs, it's important to have a goal and focus on it. What I said cannot be acquired easily, to be able to setup and focus a goal you have to pass through certain difficulties in life. After hardship comes joy, of that I am certain.
JAEDONG = ESPORTS for me, because I'll forever remember him with the Korean flag at WCG in front of a gigantic crowd cheering for him. Seeing a man serious, tired, focused, who must have worked his whole life to deserve this and proudly wave the flag of his country as a true world champion. That's when you realize this is a real sport and a real profession. That's what I like to show my friends when they ask about esports - Jaedong, because his presence instantly fills you with deep respect, even if you don't know what esports is. Lee Jae Dong fighting!
VOLUNTEER: Digital/Print Art Specific contribution: Whatever is assigned/needed (Layout or specifics)
I work (or use to work) in IT/Web/Graphics design and have a decent background in Illustrator. I have a much better grasp of Photoshop so I would prefer to do the art itself (typography, image editing, etc) rather than the actual mag layout that will I assume be gone in Quark or Illustrator but can contribute to any of that within reason.

One thing I did mention in the reddit post is that the scale may prove too big and may take too long as is the case with a lot of spontaneous community projects so I hope it works out well. Hate to see a great player down, even if I was never exposed to BW as much as most.
Maybe consider doing an eMag or micro-site/website as format is much easier (use wordpress or the like).
No matter what game I play, be it DOTA, BW or SC2, and even in real life I always ask myself "what would jaedong do?" in difficult situations. Why? Because he's JD dammit, the awesomest human being ever. I'm 100% certain that JD will get out this slump and dominate in whatever game he decides to play.
I'm not really even convinced JD is "slumping" that much. He did have an unfortunate couple of losses last night, but before that during PL he went 12-18. 66% is still pretty darn good, maybe not uber-dominating tyrant mode good...but that's a damn nice win ratio.
There were some games he looked a bit sloppy...but he was still winning the games, and to be honest his last few games in PL had looked particularly sharp: the godly ling against Modesty, a win over SK, and generally seemingly solid play.
Jaedong is my favorite player by far. He really shouldn't question his life choices when he has inspired so many people that love to watch him play. <3 Jaedong. You will rise again.
If you made the right choice or not, is something for you to decide. Just know that there are thousands of people that support you, as I'm sure that as far as bad decisions go, this one is pretty damn small. <3
Jaedong, you are so awesome! Just yesterday I was watching the VOD's of how he ROLLED flash in Averatec season 1. Sense his rise to power, I have always been a huge fan, and will continue to be one forever!!
This is awesome. I'd like this to be delivered in 2 weeks at most. Is it possible? Or is that not enough time? Anyway I am really looking forward to this. Gonna do something. Is it possible to make videos too and deliver it on a CD?

Well said. This seems pretty overboard for a somewhat vague tweet.

I dont think 2 weeks is enough. It depends on the contents we have and the volunteers, Im saying the earliest this can be finished is late May or early June.

either way, it's not like this is a horrible thing to do regardless.

The picture of you is a really good idea. It's nice to see people's faces, especially for something like this.
Hang in there Jaedong! It has been a rough year for you, for many bw players, everyone can see that. But we know you are the tyrant zerg, and your play continues to entertain many people. You are the best. You are a big part of why this game is important to so many of us at teamliquid.com. It will be a sad day for starcraft when you are no longer around.
But in the back of my mind i cant help but think this might be a good time for Jaedong, in fact many of our beloved progamers to look for something else to do. With the announced changes to PL i think a great deal of anxiety is understandable. It is indeed quite sad watching Jaedong this year. His usual focused expression looks noticeably frustrated to me. Perhaps would be happier doing something else.
Greetings from Texas, USA! Jaedong, you are the reason I started watching professional Broodwar back in 2008 and you have given me a wonderful and exciting experience being a fan of yours. You rightfully sit on the Zerg throne and everyone knows it! We can't wait for more amazing games in the future! Keep up the hard-work you are known for and stay healthy. Everyone has their fair share of successes and downfalls, but always remember many, many fans around the world will always cheer you on! Lee Jae Dong fighting!
Jaedong, you were the first progamer I really looked up to in awe, and still do. You are truly the most impressive person I have ever known, not just because of your amazing Zerg play, but because of how hard you work at the game.
I have loved Jaedong since Ever OSL 2007. I have seen every televised game he has played since that tournament - almost every one of them live at 5 o'clock in the morning. When I didn't have internet in my apartment, I went out - at 5 o'clock - to internet cafés.
I don't know why I love Jaedong so much. Maybe it is because Jaedong seems to be everything I am not. When I was younger I wanted to become a professional athlete. I couldn't because I wasn't gifted enough. Especially I had a problem with nerves. I was afraid of fighting and competing. I was playing to become the best - not for the love of the game, and I was always afraid of losing. Since then I have looked up to people who thrive under pressure. People who compete because they love it, because they love the fight. I didn't have that. Jaedong has that. His games are not about perfection. They are about fighting and flowing with the rhythm of the game. He is before everything else a competitor.
I think when you compare Jaedong and Flash (which you almost automatically do since they are like the Kasparov and Karpov of Starcraft) their two most typical attributes shows the differences between them as competitors. Flash's attribute would be the ruler. He is precise and meticulous. Everything must go as planned. In the right conditions he is the perfect player. When I think of him, I think about controlling the game. Building 100 turrets is like saying: "It doesn't matter what you do, I will do my thing perfectly and you won't be able to touch me." Jaedong's attribute is the "death stare". He wants to fight you and he wants the game to become crazy. Jaedong is known to take huge risks and make game changing decisions in a split second. If I had to choose a game that symbolizes Jaedong's play. I would take the game against Midas in PDPop MSL 2010 on Dante's peak where Jaedong drone rushed off a 12 hatchery. A lot of people said afterwards that the game wasn't "perfect", that Midas could have held the rush. But they don't take into account the competition. No one attacks like that. Jaedong's stare is like the stare of a predator who is waiting for the slightest twitch to jump on his pray. He is like Tal - possibly the best natural attacking chess player in history. Like with Jaedong, people who don't understand the nature of competition are going back to Tal's games to refute his aggressive sacrifices with a computer.
I think that it is the love of the struggle that makes Jaedong so mentally strong. After the power outage in the Nate MSL, Jaedong calmly waited for the judges decision. He would have been perfectly content with a re-game even after having outplayed Flash on a very difficult map for zerg. For me that is integrity. Not hiding behind excuses and daring to fight when it really matters.
"Because the game is his whole world, it reciprocates his love. His hands produce and position units that pour over into his opponent's defenses like a whirlwind. Slowly, his intense stare changes into an affectionate gaze as the game rewards him with a moment of meaning in a meaningless world." - Pubbanana
This quote about Yellow applies as well for Jaedong. The important thing is the love for the game.
This is my post from a year old thread, but I think it has its place here. I will try to find some one who can translate it into Korean for me.
Jaedong is the reason I play Zerg. I may play SC2 now, but I still watch his matches. I wish I had some artistic skills so I could actually make something for him. I guess I'll just have to play hard and become successful, show him that just being himself is a boost to everybody that ever wanted to be great.
Sorry for butting in... Posting in this forum is scary. I haven't followed BW for ages but i always watch matches with Jaedong, Flash, Bisu, Fantasy and the other greats. Seeing as he is feeling really down right now though, what can we do to show support in the short term? This project is great but it probably wont reach him for at least a month or two and maybe he needs the most encouragement right now.. twitter campaign or something? tweeting our vods or Jaedong moments at him and saying somethings about how inspiring he has been throughout the years? Im gonna get to working on something for this project as well but unfortunately i am a terrible, terrible artist.
Yes just twitter him! I'm sure he can understand some basic english. If he is feeling down now let's show support now and not only in 1-2 months when this project ships(I like the idea though) Could even twitter him this thread. I plan on contributing when I'm not sick anymore and I figure out something cool to write

Not a Jaedong fan But Definitely a supporter for e-sports. Hit me up for layout or writing (tbh, better at writing as I am a reporter) but if you're short staffed I can be on layout or arts.
I don't know if you still remember this game, but I do.
It's a game of you versus Lee Yeong Ho. But there is a message in it and that message is for you, not for me.
In this game, Lee Yeong Ho did one major mistake in the start of the game: He thought that he had a chance. Needless to say, his mistake got ruthlessly corrected by you.
And now, there are a lot of people who do the very same mistake: People think that they have a chance against you. Even worse, they think that they can beat you.
Are you going to give up now, or are you going to do the same thing you did to Lee Yeong Ho in that game. It's up to you. You can give up now, people will still remember you as a legend even if you do so. Or you can make people think otherwise, show them how wrong it is to think that they have a chance against you. I know you can do it, you know you can do it, why wouldn't you show that to the rest of the world?

But PL is going to have both (if the rumors are true). Then why should we cheer for JD in SC2 if BW will still be around? =_= It's not that I'm telling him not to, I'm just saying that "everybody" shouldn't make something like what he suggested. Anyways, off-topic. JAEDONG FIGHTING!
It's not about SC or BW it's about making JD feel better. I'm sure he wouldn't exactly feel better if we are like ''gogo sc2'', when he is maybe wondering about retiring

@topic It would be good if we can get cool stories like this postthis post and send to him. Seeing that there's people that have gotten inspiration to live in him will make him feel good.
Volunteer:Logistics Specific: Delivery? Whatever miscellaneous small tasks that might be needed at this end. (In Korea). I was thinking it might be nice to photo document the delivery.
Volunteer:texts Specific: I could help out with translating any specifics. I don't think everything needs to be translated since his English seems to be pretty good, plus leaving people's messages in their own words and what not. But if some key areas and texts need to be in Korean, I could help with the translating. I'm sure the layout/editorial/creatively-skilled can figure out what would be good in the regard..
If you don't enjoy SC2, please do not play SC2. We know that game is less than a shadow of BW, forcing yourself to play that lame horribly done sequel will make you depressed.
Enjoy your life the best you can, you've carried your teams on your shoulder, you were the banner everyone rallied to, you were one hero among mortals.
I will support you in whatever path you choose, but don't force yourself into something you do not like.
OP I have some suggestions. This could make the task easier and let us finish it faster.
1. Make it a (semi)official TL project, with permission from the mods of course, so we can title it TL <3 Jaedong as you propose. 2. Task distribution/management: - A. 3-5 main articles spread throughout the pages - B. spread the message all accross the magazine, highlighting a few significant ones. - C. distribute the task among layout artists on a per page basis, so its easier and faster to handle - D. Streamline sections -- a. 3-5 main articles -- b. TL and Jaedong ----- i. The wars of the Tyrant (BR/Analysis of epic games) ----- ii. Fan arts ----- iii. Me and Jaedong stories -- c. Misc, whatever this is - E. Related to D, you could actually decide on the actual paging already so it becomes more organized. We will have a more definite measure of the tasks and capabilities by page 6 or 7.
I really want to partificate fully, but I still got thesis to finish and odd jobs on the side. I can help with the layout though. By the way, where are the BW regulars. I'm surprised no one is showing up here. Elroi is the only "veteran" I've seen so far. There might be others because I don't know everyone also. Anyway, goodluck on this project.
You were one of the first people I started watching when I got into BW. You were the example of who I watched to learn when I switched to playing Zerg. I have stayed up far too late to watch you play, or immediately watched your VODs when I got home from work. Along with a few other people, I always wanted to you win when I caught a game, even if you were playing against my team!
The point is, you are a cornerstone of what makes BW so great. The shining example of why BW is the best RTS, the example of the progamer mentality, and the player I would hope everyone strives to be.
Don't get so down, because even if the games aren't going great, we all support you! You made a good choice, and you will always be a legend. There is no other Zerg player like you, and there never will be. Jaedong Fighting!

After buying Starcraft2, I stumbled upon the Broodwar Pro scene, and was amazed at the depth of this game. Some of the first games i watched were of you. I became so curious that i searched google/youtube to find First person views of you playing, and once i found it, my jaw dropped. It felt like viewing a genius at work, applying your thoughts with this marksman like precision. I just wanted to say that I respect you, and that dedication like yours can only bring success.
i wish i could meet jaedong. he really gives me that extra drive to make myself a better gamer.
id hate to see him give it up. i want to cheer him on as he competes in SC2 at the highest level. i want to see him raise the trophy as one of the greatest StarCraft players of all time
I started following the pro-SC2 scene before getting into the BW scene. Jaedong and Flash were the 2 guys that got me really interested in watching. I hope Jaedong keeps playing so I can keep cheering on the man who got me into the scene.

How are you not warned/temp banned for this? This post is to cheer up JD, not to bash sc2 vs bw.
Can I send audio files? I can speak Korean a bit but I can't type it. It'd be a lot easier than having to translate a wall of text. I have a lot to say.
I come from the SC2 community. As people start complaining how SC2 is for noobs, and BW is the real StarCraft game, I got interested. I searched and studied, and among all the games and players I watched, I related to you the most - the anger, the rage, the aggression, the raw power. I was terran then, but you opened my world. I saw what a beautiful game Broodwar indeed is. I feel bad for other players about to face you. They don't know what dominance, power, and manliness is. This is just a minibump on the road, before you hit full throttle to being the best progamer ever!
I've always wanted to do a BR for BaToO 2008, my favorite finals by far. Game 5 (JD blocking Fantasy's hopped vulture through Medusa's backdoor with a drone+2 lings) was when I became a secret Jaedong fan. Though I'm a die-hard FantasyBoy, JD's my #2 (after NaDa's Body <3)!
Your fans are here to help pick you up when you stumble. Lean on us Jaedong so that you may grow stronger from this loss. The future might seem uncertain right now but what you can count on are the people from all over the world, in and out of Korean to staunchly support you through these difficult times. I await your next games with great anticipation and will be rooting for you wearing my Hwaseung Oz uniform with the Oz calendar that bears your autograph at my side. You can do this Lee Jaedong!!! Much love from Canada.

How are you not warned/temp banned for this? This post is to cheer up JD, not to bash sc2 vs bw.

Jaedong is the most successful zerg in the history. and was awesome how he gave us hope to all the zergs, all the zergs were losing a lot to protoss and when he won against Stork in the OSL Finals, i couldn't believe it, when i saw that final, i knew that Jaedong would become the greatest zerg.
So don't give up Jaedong, you will rise again and beat everyone
Jaedong, never lose sight of who you are and what you have accomplished. Your career is a towering monolith on the timeline of e-sports; not just in S. Korea, but everywhere. Your inspired play has captivated many thousands of e-sports fans, and brought thousands more into the fold. The memories you have given your fans are priceless; we have been there with you through all the highs and lows, and shared in your joy and agony. Know that we will never forget the great games you have given us, and that your legacy as one of the greats is firmly cemented.
There are new challenges ahead; remember these things and approach them without fear.
Jaedong man... you brought me into the BW world with your muta micro, it hurts to see you like this after following the scene for 3 years . Please cheer up and dominate like you once did, I believe!
Manly Jaedong holding his OSL trophy as my contribution to this thread. Please include it in the project if it ever gets made. I'm a huge Jaedong fan so I was very sad to hear him being so depressed. I really hope we see more of him in the future even if it is only in SC2.

I have an idea for a 'tyranical' song. Working on it! (Hopefully it turns out well)
Edit : shit it's like a "tense moment" song - perfect to describe how we feel about him but it might be unsuitable for someone who is currently in a "tense moment" himself .....
though I have to say, ideas just streamed in while I had him in my mind.... I'll upload something in an hour or so.
There are many games, and by that I mean "many" games Jaedong played Zerg to its utmost possible potential in all aspects (macro & micro & multitasking).
Jaedong, you are the best player that I have ever seen!
Keep working on it! It gets muddy in the middle there, but I hear potential. I think a piano line over the top or another guitar part would work well with what you have so far.
I don't know a lot of people who wouldn't be happy to have a song written for them.
To be honest, i feel greatly for jaedong, but it would be wrong to not be honest with him. The fact is he is a zerg and like zergs before him, he will be hit hard by mechanics declining as he ages and he already has so, it is only realist he is dealing with these problems and changing career when he could have higher potential in other fields with his extreme perseverence, it is worth letting him have his introspection.
When I watch individual sports, I don't usually have favorite players. I don't even play Zerg, but when I go looking for a Starcraft game, I go looking for a Jaedong match. There's something special about watching you play. Thank you for that, and I'm glad you chose to be a progamer and bring us all so much joy.
How fast do you think Jaedong can type '@jd1231231'?
OP, this is such a wonderful idea. You made me write my first fan mail EVAR. To all you Scrooges who are saying it's all no big deal and we shouldn't bother - bah! More people in our lives should get these type of love letters. We should look for more reasons to send them, not more reasons to be selective.

Ya I agree with your suggestions, thanks.
It was my first time adding drums in a song. I was using a punching the guitar bridge for kick, hitting poster color boxes for snare/tom and a plastic bag with some metal hooks inside it with a paint brush for hi hat/ cymbals at the end haha. (and as you can hear the timing isn't perfect)
Got no money for a real drumkit. :D

Anyone can send me their comments by PM if they don't want it to be public (usually it means if you don't like it). I'm very open.
I just feel that I can express myself better this way.
Shinysleepy(Philippines) Jaedong, you have been the greatest player in the world. You are the reason Zerg is now my favorite race. You're still capable of the genius plays you did in the past, and I truly believe you are capable of achieving more. Don't give up. You're my Starcraft hero. If you give up, I don't know what I'd do. Have more faith in yourself, and you'll be back on top. I believe in you Jaedong.
Jaedong is so emotional. I'll never imagine Bisu or Flash doing this. Bisu has never advanced in the OSL yet we never hear from him, except his map whines and seige tank imba complaints!
Anyway, be strong Jaedong. You still have what it takes to win, BW or SC2.

Jaedong really changed that for me- his control, his ability to make the build he choose work for him instead of the other way around... skill and micro not just in the obvious but in the subtle touches; slight positionings, adjusted timings... his entire game has a FLOW to it, instead of just reactions and guesses that I tend to see from other Zergs.
Split (Switzerland) Hey Jaedong! Even though I come from SC2 and have no idea what's going on in BW games I still love to watch your games and wish you much success in the future! <3
My first real experience with Professional Starcraft was watching the 2009 OSL finals. I had just joined University and heard my friends talking about how the finals were tonight and this new guy Flash was amazing and maybe the best ever. I stayed up the whole night just to watch the finals, and even after the power outage when my friends went to bed(because it was 5am for us) I stayed up and watched. I was so excited to see you win. The games were amazing and even though I was late to the scene, it inspired me to start watching Starcraft. The next day I pulled up all the VODs I could find of you. Jaedong, you are an inspiration and a Champion. I hope you continue on and make even more great memories for me and others ^_^
Jaedong, I've never really watched a lot of Brood War (I was too young and oblivious :/ ), but recently I have been watching some of your games and I must say, you are a frickin baller. Really, just watching you play made me want to play BW (it was too hard though ). Just letting you know that the "newfags" of TL really enjoy your awesome play!
"Jaedong, you are one amazing player and person. Your devotion to Starcraft and Zerg is so wonderful to see, and every time you play I get goose bumps. Hope you will have good fortune wherever you decide to go, and whatever you decide to do /Sam - Sweden".
I'd like to join supernovamaniac on the ground team. In Korea for the foreseeable future and pretty much half of my entire TL posting history is Jaedong related.
Jaedong hwaiting!
Translated mine for the project Hope google does me proud >.<

I also like how he never really complains about balance of maps or anything. In the many, many interviews I have read (ones I remember were back when all the maps were terran favored tvz unless I am mistaken?). A question would come up always about "well how do you feel on these maps that favor terran so much?". His responses would always impress me "It doesn't matter the better player will win". He always says something to that effect and I can't recall ever reading an interview of his where he was like "well the maps are really good for xx or really bad for zerg so I don't think I will do very well".
Jaedong fighting! I am sad to see him lose in the OSL so early but he is jaedong I don't see him giving up yet! Jaedong for life and I can't wait to see him playing more as I miss watching his play so much T_T.
Edited project schedule in the OP. This might take longer than expected, but thanks for the support and posts guys. By the way, is there some real Jaedong fans here who'd like to take over as head of this project?
On April 30 2012 00:35 [V] wrote: OP I have some suggestions.
Right under all our noses. I knew something was up with all the Jaedong banners. Anyway, thanks for the suggestions, they will be considered.

Shows he's human.
It's not about being human or not. One thing is not advancing to OSL and other thing is being one of the greatest despite many things against you. I mean he lost his grandfather when he was in his prime, he nearly retired after being a FA, his coach left him and they were pretty close, his team disbands, no sponsors for the new team, and the story goes on. It just shows you how strong he actually is.
I just had a dream that some players got his wrist dislocated and couldn't play his game. So there was a wildcard tournament with the guys eliminated from Round of 32. Jaedong courageously powered through and got that spot. Flashfoward couple of weeks, Jaedong managed to take down Flash in the semi finals only to face Stork in the final round. Such a happy dream...until the inevitable happened and the mist of illusion have been lifted.
Since the start of my 14 year life in Canada after moving from Korea, I always had a vague understanding of this game, Starcraft. As I progressed through elementary, I caught momentary glimpses of Korean progamers, such as Boxer's SCV rush, etc, etc. I did not know who they were, nor that there were actual pro games. I was caught up in the story of Starcraft, on and off through elementary, and largely forgot about it afterwards.
2007. I don't remember how I got there, nor how I felt. All I knew was that I was watching this series between a Protoss and a Zerg. I remember seeing the Zerg lose the first game quite badly. I don't remember the rest except for one particular player finally emerging from his booth victorious with epic music playing. He hugged his mom, and I was enthralled. I later found out who this player was. Jaedong, in the 07 Ever OSL
2008, I was deep into Starcraft. My cousin, who had moved to Canada from Korea to study, was going on a trip back to Korea to meet with family and friends. I checked the dates for the tournament and sure enough, Arena MSL finals were on when he got there. I asked him to get an autograph from you. He asked me what he should do if you lost. I told him not to worry and that there was no way you would lose.
In the end, you lost, but you still signed an autograph for me. I still have that autograph within my collection of various precious items. I am so thankful for you signing the autograph even though you must have been feeling horrible right then and there. It made my year.
Throughout the next four years, Starcraft has been my life. Though Starcraft 2 may have taken over the West, you remain my all-time favourite player. I cheered loudly when you won championships. I hid in a corner and tried to forget when you lost. If it weren't for you and for Starcraft, I don't think I would have a reason to stay connected to my home country, Korea, other than for the World Cup every now and then.
Thank you Jaedong. I've collected as much Hwaseung Oz merchandise as it is possible in Canada. Which means the Jacket, pretty much. Even in team 8, I still support you. Your legendary work ethic has made you my role model I know you can do it! Lee Jae Dong Fighting!
P.S. That ball of fur is my dog, pepsi. Your number one dog fan.
Jaedong. You are, and will always be, the player who got me interested in proffessional starcraft gaming and the slayer of tyrants, emperors, dragons and gods. Without you esports would not hold the respect it does in the eyes of myself, my family, who all know who you are from my many stories, and my friends, aswell as the entire international starcraft community. We thank you for everything you have done for the game, the players and especially for us fans, who love your style. From your first games back in 2006, until today 6 years later, you have made a mark on the now so great esport, when most people assumed it was going to be something that would pass away, you helped proove that it is here to stay. Lee Jae Dong fighting! Always!
Jaedong, you were one of the first pro players I met in real life, during the WCG 08 TL party in Cologne. For most of us WGTour admin you appeared as a great and funny guy! Here is a picture of you and DKnight showing how awesome and friendly you were with us and another one in WCG LA with Flash and Kal.
Your games were also amazing to watch, and I was very happy to meet you again in WCG 2010 in LA! You are a legend throughout the community and I would really love to see you again in an event! I actually kept a poster of the TG intel classic finals of august 2008 and it is currently on a wall of my living room!

Maybe we can have this organized in the future, hopefully on a more positive note.

i wish i could give Jaedong a high five
My message if its not too late:
I hope you come to Sweden sometime, I watch all your matches and cheer for you. Best of luck in all your endeavors!
Jaedong is my favorite player, too. Always will be. Watching him play in late 2007 is what made me a fan of pro BW, sometimes a zerg player does something beautiful once in a while, but really, most of those beautiful zerg moments where the opponent plays the very best, mistake free, and still loses - those are Jaedong moments.
did anyone here see jaedongs games against SC in wcs, they were fucking amazing, i couldnt believe what i was watching, played like mma did a year ago, with constant multitasking and harass/agression, it was so sick i couldnt believe my eyes

You can watch them on gomtv.net but you need to buy an account. You can also watch them for free here: http://www.youtube.com/user/GOMTVNET/videos ...but they upload the VODs 1 week after the games have been played I think
