Even with sc2 at it's doorstep, last SPL was probably the best series I have seen in a long long time, and TBLS just got their storyline developed, then they just decide to drop this. Even if sc2 is as good of a game as bw, it'll take kespa ages to make sc2 into what bw is now, and by then, who knows what game will come along and knock sc2 to the ground. They threw away something that came as close to enduring the test of time as a game will likely ever achieve, for something newer and flashier and will be supplanted faster. The irony in this makes me sad. I believe when CS 1.6/BW era ends the tendency to stick to old games will be thouroughly grounded by developers. Sponsors dont like old games. Smaller box prices, no need for hardware its all bad when we consider west sponsoring is still centered around hardware manufacturers.

Yup, they already made it bush league and they're still trying to sell it as the same old OSL/PL when it's completely different. There is no continued legacy and that is why the competitive gaming will remain ever changing. Mark my words, no game will have the same longevity because the devs won't allow them to.

It won't be called Brood War, it'll be an original IP, but it'll happen. Someone's going to make it. Now that "e-sports" is a thing with money in it, all these developers are trying to be the next one (Valve, Riot, Blizzard. Even Halo 4 is apparently going to have "e-sports" features of some kind). I firmly believe it's only a matter a time until someone makes a worthy successor to BW, drawing from the most successful e-Sport game of all time. With Indy games and their retro graphics being more popular, and Kickstarter being around, it doesn't need to be a major studio, either. BW's gameplay -or an inspiration - on a game that's easy to set up and just play without disabling windows explorer and forwarding your ports...it's probably inevitable. BW may fall, but it's spirit will live on. Not in SC2 or LoL or DOTA, but in a game that maybe doesn't exist yet.

On translating, I was wondering if that was allowed, since it was OGN's property. But I guess if the Stargirl interview was subbed, it'd be okay too? :X

Especially appropriate to watch gorush one right after he played the legend showmatch before jangbi/mini.
