with superview i've found that if you do the math with any replay you get it to about 23.81 intervals / sec but the majority of replays i've looked at (probably 9/10) do not have a time interval that's not multiple of 5.
the only one i've seen where there were time intervals not a multiple of 5 was some boxer v yellow game. i checked to see if it was something that had to do with pre-1.10 replays vs. 1.10 replays, and it's somewhat true.
1.08 replays (not sure about 1.08b or whatever) have all sorts of time intervals (not just multiples of 5) where as 1.09 replays and on are only multiples of 5.
the only thing i can think of to rationalize this is that blizzard turned down the intervals at which players actions are recorded to slim down the file size of replays. seems kinda pointless and far fetched since replays were never really 'big' to begin with, but that's all i can think of.
so i guess the bottom line is that if you're going to compare replays with superview make sure that at any time you're only comparing 1.08 replays or post-1.08 replays.

Holy shit. This piece of art can fake check any replay ever existed. Even gives you the game name... if only it somehow could be implemented into the game itself.... whoever made this is trully a genious, not for whats he's done but for what it can do.
well since the program can open up scx, mpq and replay files they might all use the same encryption. mpq extractors have been around forever so if that's all that replays use then something like this should have been out long ago.
however if they don't use the same encryption then yeah he's a genius. =)

oh he's a genius either way. ^_^
It's not encryption, it's a zip like packaging.
Maybe it has to due with network conditions...?
Anybody knows how to get in touch with the guy who wrote that program? I'd like to add some graphical user interface on the replay events, a bit like what you see in AOM, with curves for each player resources (minerals, units, etc). Might be interesting to analyse games.
Where can i find this program ?
i have no idea what u said but good job man i dont know what i would have done if i didnt know replays the intervals of replays in 1.8 and 1.10 was different! OMG MAN UR A LIFE SAVER
i dont know what to do with de program :/ i'm retard, help me plz
It shows you the time intervals that each click was recorded at, which player clicked, and what kind of click it was. It also shows you all the information about the replay, the map played on in the rep, etc. Someone here was intially looking at the info with the program to analyze Dudey's reps from WDT.

its a quite old program made by an old battlereporter on battlereports.com . im not sure if he wants you guys to message him and stuff (especially considering the program is just a beta and it was to my knowledge never finished), so im not going to reveal his identity. that was also the reason why I hesitated with linking it in the first place.
Drone, is there a way we can talk in private, on some IM or Bnet? I'd really like to continue what you friend started. I don't care so much about his identity, just his source code :-)
Hey drone 50 sec =1000 doesnt work. i checked few reaps and tryed to calculate its last point to and was about 8000 off... And does the speed of game reflect the intervals?
A more precise ratio would be 1 sec = 23.77
ok nm im ignorrant and dont read the above.
ok theres another thing. When a player builds something, it gives the precise building placement in same units as map measurements. But when moving units its location is given by other measurements... any way to convert? also all the units/buildings are assigned number, do they depend on unit position/type or anything?
warcraft3 has some kind of decoder implemented in cuz you can see what player selects (units/buildings) i think itll be cool to have same in BW.

If only we can get to understand everything then we could see the rep without being inside of the game, just by looking at the "code".
Matrix anyone?
matrix? its a computer game afterall.

Omg, this program is AWESOME! You can do all sorts of fun little things when viewing the replay data, like look and see how and at what speeds different people spread their workers, or see what someone does after the other guy leaves, etc. ^_^ Not to mention how many useful applications it has.
This means that if Blizzard wanted to, they could let you see what at least one of the players is doing throughout the rep.
Where was this program originally posted, btw?

can someone tell me how to calculate hte speed?

When you guys are "calculating" it, do you guys count all the clicks up to a certain point or punch in 0-000500 in some area that I have yet to find.....
yeah, I'm with "the guy" above me
click on the name field to sort by name then count up until a specific time interval, in this case 500.
or you can do it this way: (still not advanced enough due to lack of help from the app itself) use ur sroll wheel to compare player's activity. In my case i set the wheel to scroll 1 screen at a time and can calculate the ration preety easily. So far the player who has the greater ration is always the winner. Like Justin said you need to list actions by players first which takes some time.

...ilnp having 120 is nothing special. I have a decently fast mouse, and I did ~105 in 1 random rep I screened.
What are you saying exactly by "having 120"? I might have missed something, but I don't understand.
explain?
if anyone would care to help, how do you calculate how fast your mouse speed is?
I click to warm up, so if you dont, that would explain the discrepency ^_^.

The user interface is pretty lacking. Great proggie thou. If only I had the source i can extend it. Ive got a ton of exp with windows interface but dont have the time to get the rep file structure broke down on my own. And dont have much experience with that stuff anyway so i may never get it done if i had the time.
But adding stuff like a click count in a specific time period would be no problem at all.
Theres some other minor things wrong with it too. Like if you train a vulture, the program will tell you, you made a gollie. Thats all i've notice.
My click count is about 60-70ish right now. I need to learn how to use hotkeys more :0
How do you check clicks per minute? The only way I see, is sort actions by players, then see how many actoions fit on one screen, then scroll down by clicking on empty space beneath the scroller to see how many screens there are. Finally divide the amount you get by the time the game took, in minutes. However, I'm pretty sure that's not the way, because that's gruelling and many people give their "click speed".
So what's the process?
Its a cool tool. But really, i dont think it has too much to with real mouse speed. I have about 70 actions until 500, but i think only about a third of these clicks are useful ones. For example: everytime i send a probe to work i reset my nexus' rally point and such useless shit, everytime i give move command i click 3 times or more. It just proves you are clicking fast, but doesnt mean that you play well. But if you have a look at a nada replay: here the difference is that he's able to do a lot of DIFFERENT commands in a really short time.
Or have a look at Nal_ra 1st person Vods. He's pretty slow (for a pro gamer). But every click he does is useful.
Especially in the first minutes of the game when there's (from 0 - 500) nothing useful to do. You click pretty much everything.
To Naz: I just "analysed" your game vs Elky on Bifrost. research dragoon range was made more than 10 times. What does that mean ? Do you hit "s" that often or what ?
yes that means he hit "s" 10 times but got enough money on last 1.
are you supposed to be able to open replays with superview?
yes esko, and you get a handfull of information out of it.
So how do you actually see the ratio?
just a play of numbers and brain cells.
whats meant by "special move" ?
when i try to do it, the program crashes and it says i only can open .mpq, .scm and .scx
esk0:
1st: launch the Superview 2nd: Go to file>open 3rd: In the new window and in "File of type" chose .rep 4rth: browse the rep/load it/ open bwchart and load the rep.
thx. where can i see click/min etc ?
Does speed win games or does all around smart play?
somebody wanna help me out here. i have a total of 3391 commands issued and the last command was issued on 000022345. somebody do the math? cause i cant figure out where roman got these numbers from.
i'm honk, how can i see click/min.

Usually its descibed behind. It's something like rally points, attack move and patrol.
You guys can even watch the simpsons for crying out loud
why all the excitement about superview all of a sudden? i was under impression it was the original "replay viewer" prog that later got taken as a basis and developed into bwchart. am i wrong?

you're not wrong. this actually is the thread that made jca start bwchart. its just this retard that bumped the thread because he thinks everyone here is a loser
hes pissed because he got banned from a community of 'losers'
thats pure irony

still, Im glad I was able to see the history of bwchart...
