This is an anti-SC2 circlejerk so bad it takes away, at least for me, the excitement and fun that I had and still have from playing BW since 2000, when I was 4 years old. And please, keep commenting on how "inferior" SC2 is, even though, you know, there's still 2 more expansions coming out and lots of patches to be released. Replace SC2 with SC vanilla, then compare that to BW, and hopefully you'll see why I really hate the comparisons, at least in terms of gameplay, between the two. I haven't been this pissed in a while. Like, a fucking long time. Sometimes, I just wish the community wasn't so negative. I try to be positive, yet I find it extremely difficult to be when I see all the hate everywhere. Nobody is commenting on SC2. The only thing we did was told Moletrap to GTFO the BW section. If you want to watch SC2 go do it and I don't dislike SC2 I watch it occasionally, but my *opinion* is that BW is superior.
AND for Fs sake this is the BW section we can say what ever the F we want about SC2 here. The anti fans of BW who post in these threads and provoke people are the ones to blame.

That right!
Thus...

I really enjoyed this video, even though it brought a lot of emotions to me, BW is not coming to an end though, rather a rebirth. As someone asked before " What if HOTS sucks and everyone goes back to BW?"
Well...I have played the HOTS beta and in my opinion it was not the big SC1-> BW // WoL-> HOTS comparison that I was hoping for, I thought it was really underwhelming and I for one will most likely be playing only BW again as I expected. It just is not the same at all, you can't play HOTS or WoL and pretend you are playing BW, doesn't work.. I have tried.

Don't be sad, the money in my wallet aren't so bad.

+ Show Spoiler +Here's something I don't really get. A lot of SC2 fans seem so apologetic about their game. I mean seriously, if you like the game then why don't you defend it for what it is, instead of trying to convince us of it's potential, x number of years/patches/expansions down the line. It's like you actually think it sucks now, BUT HAVE FAITH BLIZZARD GONNA FIX THE GAME IT WILL BE SOOO GOOD!!!!
I'd actually prefer if SC2 fans instead told us why their game is good and exciting right now. WoL, HotS, whatever players you have at this moment. There used to be so many posts telling us how good it would be once FLASH and JAEDONG and BISU finally switched! Well, now they have. I've not been following them in SC2, but have they changed the game yet in a noticable way?
And trying to compare SC2 right now to SC1 pre BW doesn't really work IMO. There's nothing comparable about them. When SC1 was released the concept of eSports was very much in it's infancy, no one expected the game to be played professionally. It was a rather slow process which really only took off once the game got popular in Korea. When SC2 was released thousands of people (including blizzard) all over the world were hell-bent on making it a successful eSport and fully prepared to devote their lives to it, and big money tournaments were organized pretty much from day 1. I'm sure you'd agree those are very different situations for a game to evolve in.
But even if you still want to count years/patches/expansions/whatever it's not looking much better for SC2. The game "already" has a longer balance patch history than SC1/BW. And as far as time goes, bear in mind that the final balance patch for BW was released in april '01, three years after the release of vanilla SC1. Does that mean all the "give it time" arguments are invalid once 3 years have passed since SC2 release? I hope so, but I doubt we'll stop seeing them. I'm already beginning to notice a shift from "just wait for HotS" to "just wait for LotV". lol.
Edit: I enjoyed the video, nice work!

Amazing vid. I enjoyed it!

Jenia6109, big thanks for making this video! Very emotional and touching! Can you please upload it somewhere, I want it with the best possible resolution!

Can you please make a video of "Hi how are you Brood war?"

<3 BW. it will always have a special place in our hearts

I really think that the timing of this video is inappropriate, I mean, no one has been talking about the death of BW since OSL finals.

I don't see a word about SC2 before moletrap dropped his unfortunately phrased comment. I don't think the hate towards him is justified at all, it was just not appropriately timed.
Why we have to be so fucking negative? Our game just died in mainstream circles in S.Korea. Do you understand what that means for people? For the players? For the community leaders? For every bit of passion which you can see players and fans attach themselves to something you would fucking expect the same degree of emotional sadness and anguish if something as devastating as this happens. If every single SC2 league closed down, right now, and there was zero sign that the same level of sponsor interest or media coverage will ever be focused on it ever again, and that all the players that you've grown to know and love would either have to retire - which in many cases meaning losing everything that their entire adolescent life had been building towards forgoing secondary education or professional development - or change games, I bet you would be fucking negative too.
SC2 is the easiest target to blame in this case because there actually does exist a logical and factually correct linkage between SC2's raise and BW's fall: Blizzard's stance towards supporting the game, dropping one in favor of the other in publicity, in technical support, in financial support, and in legal disputes with Kespa. This has nothing to do with which game is good or bad.

I think the point was why there was a word about SC2 after moletrap's comment.
It's not like he mentioned SC2 in any way (there will be other games during and after SC2 actually...).

+ Show Spoiler +I, for one, do think, that the games are at least twice as amazing, the strategies and mechanics are vastly improved ever since KeSPA had to switch over. I'm enjoying both GSL and OSL a lot, after a grey half of a year. Blizzard is at a lot of fault though, and it's something sad we have to bear for the rest of our lives maybe, but every once in a while let's try to be look into the future with good manners. I hope both the biggest names who switched and the ones who went with Sonic are finding what they are looking for. Gogogo all the players who made into me who I am today.
