I think a literal majority of korean opponents I have disconnect when they lose, but I don't think it has happened even once with a nonkorean. At first I thought it was a funny throwback to 1999, like 'haha wow, that's been a while', but now it's like, wtf? I don't understand how that many people can be that immature. They pull the chord, obviously. Which is reffered to as "bm" in the post above.

My guess is that they think, the main reason they lost is the higher latency. Especially at the moment with tr12, when you initally have to change the latency to extra high. A lot of Koreans lose their shit at the beginning because of this.

I had it happen plenty before the most recent patch. It would happen on Fish sometimes if they knew you were a foreigner since they assumed you wouldn't be able to report them on the site, but with zero consequences in remastered it's way more widespread.

Well, a foreigner beat them. Big ego, thus they can't handle the loss imo.

i agree. i have not found bm to be a regional or cultural thing. it's part of the game that's why we have the enter key. in fastest map half the game is shit talking. and then after the game more shit talking. you can always mute the other person or thicken the skin

It gets old pretty damn fast. I am really close to just stop playing ladder since it feels like ~50% of the koreans at ~2200 mmr disc
+ Show Spoiler +ok, 50% is probably slightly exaggerated as I was frustrated when my opponents disced 3 games in a row, but still enough to lose motivation.
|
Anyone else wish you could select which matchup you want for matchmaking? Half the time I get a PvP, the other guy quits immediately, which fucks up my ladder points to be above my actual skill level.

This is just the first season. They havent even fixed the point system properly yet; im sure there will be punishments for discs or some kind of system to ban these people. If not...wow...blizzard has failed massively, but until then, just dont worry about ladder points. Nothings working well.

I think just count disc as a loss. If it happens once, it shouldnt bother you since its only one loss. But if its happening over and over again yeah it should really hurt your ladder points.

1.) I would like a patch that at the very least try and adress pvp and zvz somewhat. In pvp, the korean suggestion that shield batteries can spot stealth units iam all for. Makes it more safe to expand.
In zvz, what if scourges moves faster when nearby/close to biological air units? New opening composition would be zergling/scourge. Iam thinking something more needs to be done though in zvz, since mass mutas->scourge most likely. Deponding how fast scourge gets that is.
Goals: make those mus less volatile
Thoughts?
2.) Thoughts of making some u.i elements easier? Terran: Marine/medic in same group, able to use stimpack. Zerg: Able to control 16-24 zerglings in one group. Protoss: Cant think of anything.

Is there some issue where ctrl+click doesn't select all units of the same type? It's been really inconsistent for me, so I've just been drag selecting instead.

Changes are probably not happening, but even if they were, they should be as slight and as surgical as possible. Shield Battery detection is pretty good, it really only does work against Wraith/DT cheeses and I guess Lurkers but by and large targets DT harassment. With the scourge change do you mean when close to enemy bio air, ie. they "dash" into enemy mutas but behave as usual against T/P air?

Something like that ,yes Muta micro is another beautiful feature of bw and takes skill to pull off. No need to take that away. Besides, threre has been a nice zvz suggestion around for quite some time — give spores small aoe, so that muta packs take more damage from them. That, even if the game needs it, which is arguable!
