Grrrr... has shown up on a new Korean talk show that I saw called 비정상회담 (Unusual Conference is kind of the direct translation, someone correct me on that).
The premise of the show is there are 12 foreigners that speak Korean that debate about topics.
In this first episode, Grrrr... is on the left side with a Canadian flag.
Oh snap, Sung Shi Kyung is on this show... In my opinion, the 4th best ballad singer in Korea, haha.
Weird how he manages to find himself in these shows, he also starred in another variety show called Village Island Teacher with Sam Ochiri too, and three other foreigners, including Sam Hammington.
It seems like the main topic of in the first couple YouTube videos in that playlist is just introducing the cast and talking about the lifestyle in Korea vs their native country.
Watching the little "trailer" in the first minute or two shows him talking (briefly, albeit) about his first debut as an analyst for eSports, how he's been a part of eSports from the beginning, his view on kids playing games online, and how society tend to misunderstand eSports. I might be a little off, but yeah, I think that's the general idea on what he talked about.
The quality of the video discourages me from watching anymore.
MC on the left is an entertainer called Jun Hyun Moo, MC in the middle is a musician (forgot name) in a group called UV, and the MC on the right is Sung Shi Kyung, a ballad singer turned entertainer.
Beginning of video starts off with the MC's asking who the most "sunbae" is, which is the oldest.
Grrr: That'd be me.
Others: Oh, Guillaume? [It's hard to say that name in Korean, so the way to pronounce it is "Ki-Yom"]
Sung: He sort of looks like... A politician.
Caption of Grrr says "The Profoundness of a 33 year-old". Next caption says "Looks like Russia's Putin's right hand man Sergey (?)"
Grrr: I hear that I look Russian a lot of times
0:24 Jun: The Starcraft... That game. We heard you were one of the best. [Caption pretty much says Grrr was one of his generation's best progamer and that he's from Canada]
Sung: His legendary victory over Lim Yo Hwan. [I dunno who Lim Yo Hwan is. /troll]
Jun: What kind of person was Hong Jin Ho like? [WHO?]
Grrr: Jin Ho was very weak to other foreigners. He lost almost all the time. I won most of the time.
Caption asks "Why was Hong Jin Ho so weak to foreigners?"
Grrr: I wonder why too, Jin Ho really liked to play around (partying, possibly with girls), his skill might have... Hahaha.
0:40 pans to a video of YellOw vs Grrr from March 30th, 2001 from an OSL. Caption pointing to Grrr says "Grrr's looks 13 years ago"
0:50 obviously shows Grrr beating YellOw. Caption on YellOw's speech bubble says "Oh, I lost T_T"
0:54 Caption says The legendary progamer who took over the scene, Grrr!
This show is really funny, and just made big waves in Korea with its pilot episode. It's just men from different countries discussing distinct things that make Korean culture different from their culture. For example they talked about how Korean men live with their parents until they get married and don't move out. Grrr is the most well known because he was a first generation pro gamer, but they're all quite funny and interesting..
