It will work online, offline, on any patch. It basically allows the user to run different AI's created, i.e. by running different cwads. This way it runs more independently from the patches or StaCraft critical files. This latest update is the fruits of the work of Bajadulce, one of our more passionate Brood War AI Project team member. It is very easy to install, one click, and ready for playing.
He claims to be a construction worker in southern California but we all are getting the nagging feeling his is Bob Fitch himself smurfing us fog of war worshipers. He plays StarCraft on a lap top hooked up to a cell phone to connect to the net making him a terrible ally during storms. He has been tweaking Racine's and M_K non$ (i.e. without the give money command) scripts and created an excellent script of his own.

Thanks for downloading and trying AI package! Some info that might help.
Problems w/ replays? Replays involving computers play out according to the AI that is "currently" running. If you record a replay w/ Racine 3.0 for instance and then watch in normal mode, you will be watching a normal replay not Racine's.
In short; make sure you watch the replay w/ the AI you recorded it with.
Still too easy? The computer doesn't "think" differently w/ this program. It's the SAME game only different build orders... that's it.
Will it take down Midas or Nada with eye popping play? Not even close. Will it catch you off guard in a 3v5 battle.net comp stomp? Maybe!
UMS? This version does not affect UMS play!
Blizzhard? Only non-rpg missions (i.e. ones w/ build orders) are affected. Some may be extremely tuff. Have not "tested" the story all the way through. Good luck. The StarCraft story is still probably the best campaign!
Battlenet? Play vs human opponents not affected. i.e. you can play w/friends with upgraded AI and also vs general Battle.net 1v1, 2v2 etc without exiting program.
Note: Raynor AI is meant to be played 1v2,3,4 etc. 1v1 for obvious reasons will not be much of a challenge. Terran prob strongest race here. This program was most designed for Battle.net 2v4, 3v5 etc type games.
The "no cd" question.
Yes, you can play this mod without a cd if you use a hacked storm.dll. For legal reasons, I have nothing to do with this or in directing you to a source, but they're out there. A no cd-launcher bypasses the cwads and hence won't work. Only a hacked storm.dll or starcraft.exe.
If you do use one, make sure you place your original storm.dll in a safe place. You will need to swap/reswap every time you log on to Battle.net. Battle.net won't recognize your hacked version... This is a GOOD thing!
Random (Entropy AI probabilities) 30/256 Zbath ...watch out! 60/256 mk ...could be tuff depending on map 90/256 rama ... not an easy foe! else racine ... now you're in trouble!
Thanks for the interest again. Hope to play/watch some good games!
Link fixed, thanks. Was playing the no$command script, its decent. Still easy to beat, but way better than original. Racine's old insane 3.0 script still catches me by surprise.. lol (particularly zvz.)
Works perfect with me (I own my own disc etc). Run it from the actual launcher i.e. don't start your SC, just start it from the launcher itself by just clicking on its BWAI3.1.exe (having sc closed).
Also once you click on it make sure you press "Install" - bottom left before u try any of the AI's.
After if you want to go back to your usual, just click "Uninstall" also bottom left (it will replace the install button.)
yeah ive tried with cd, without cd, with bwlauncher, without bwlauncher, old patches, not even running starcraft.exe, and all other possible configurations, so i think it might just be a registry error or something
Hmmm could it be that our entropy friend actually played a computer under the impression he played against the program? Plecebo plecebo!! j/k :p Looks cool I'll give it a go xD
# evanthebouncy~ Try temple Racine insane 3.0 you Terran and comp Toss..~ you will be pleasantly surprised. I can't beat two toss in temple with Terran. # Darknite721 ~ Make sure once you open the program you press "install" bottom left, otherwise you won't see any difference.
I just tested a little Random vs Terran . You can still break the Terran AI . When i arrived in his base , a SCV was building a supply . After i kill the SCV the AI died . Another thing. Computer's workers still chase your worker all over the map , if you attack a building with him. Please don't take this as a critic , but more like a "beta-tester observation" .

dude those things are almost impossible to fix. you would need a whole company of programmers to eliminate all those flaws. just try to think of a list of all the stuff that the computer has to do and you will see that there is no end. ok, the ai should replace building scvs (although i don't even know if you can use the death of your units as a trigger) but try to imagine how much work it would be just to make a script that pulls back workers, repairs them, defends against harassing workers (without falling for the trick you mentioned also) etc. etc.
as i said, you either need a whole company behind it or you need someone who has experience with neural networks. =)
Any ai that play "normal" zvz? What ai has the most "normal/standard" mu builds? The one i tried (2nd no money cheat) was nice and better than normal comp.. Atleast it felt like it was.
"After I kill the SCV the AI died." that can't be really be fixed through AI script and "computer's workers still chase your worker all over the map , if you attack a building with him" that can not be fixed with AI script only.(deathknight has tried it with triggers and managed to create this worker unit behaviour with ums/tirggers - it works almost decently like Asta mentions but it is takes a too tedious and even then still abusable)
In general all scripts work better if you don't rush or abuse this trick (the follow me comp worker). One day will manage to change the individual unit AI code.. and then.. all shit will break lose. comps will truly start owning. None of these codes or the original are real Artificial Intelligence. They are a set of specific commands and order tree - if you know this tree of orders you then know what the comp will do every time. Racine's AI tries to pick from a series of different trees so it takes a while to know them all and for a while the comp will appear to be changing strats. But none of the codes adapt to what you are doing much. In the future Racine promises they will.
"does the comp cheat?" ya it does, when you see insane the AI script uses a give money command, and the comps gets an injection of 2000 minerals several times in the game. It is the only way to compensate for its atrocious crapola micro and give it a chance versus real humans.
By the way for different players to play together v comps you all need to have the specific AI installed.
Can someone get me a screenshot of the initial screen where you get the choice "multiplayer single player"? (- my graphics screw it up always and I don't have any capture image program.)
Thnx for dowloading and trying Ai package! Some info that might help.

Played the computer. It seems descent but it doesn't respond to my BO. I did a 6 gate but the computer never made a pool. Instead it just went 12 hatch and 14 drones, an extractor, and made 2 creeps but never did it make a pool. Comp ai is alrite that it pulls the hurt drones away to a next mineral patch :p But yeah just don't abuse it and play normally it'll be alrite. O and computer still chases your tank all over the map trying to reach it, even if its on a cliff. Comp never know how to use shuttles neither, and it makes units very slowly, no continuous probe production and no macro what so ever. Cannon doesn't protect the worker line neither, wtf...
wow, this is fun and interesting! Once you guys can figure out how to control their micro, strats, adaptation, etc... i won't ever have to play humans again and be humiliated!
On November 13 2006 05:15 KrAzYfoOL wrote: yeah once i saw the workers chased my worker, i hit alt + f4.
Well maybe you could just not attack his buildings or units?! I'm quite annoyed by this mentality that just because the workers chase after yours when you intentially attack the computer's stuff, that you should have nothing to do with this AI program.
The old version still works for me fine, on the newest patch aswell. And with no-cd.
I still play the AI ocassionally. I find the improved ones are actually good practice. You really NEED perfect macro/micro for the first ten minutes to survive. Which, really did help my multi-tasking when i play people.
Only tried ZvP so far, and the insane one looks pretty much like the old one. The comp still either opens with 3 () gates zeals or semi-fast expo and then goes mass goons/templars/zeals with 3/3/3 upgrades and cheating macro (it would suck if it didn't cheat), which can be a decent challenge if you don't attempt to abuse him (and if it doesn't bug).
edit: k, tried to load an old insane ai rep with it and it ran well until the end, so I guess the it hasn't changed.
PvZ comp is very smart and I haven't beaten it yt! I tried a 6gate cheese rush then I found out he has pool half way finished already, hax! So immediately I used my probe to atk his pool then a huge horde of drone chased me, and I'm like okay I think i can win this. When my zlot arrived at his base he has 8 lings waiting for me! And when my 2nd wave of zlot came he had 20 lings and took both nat and min only already. WTF! T______T
You just have to exploit the total absence of micro.
very fast dl! cheesed it?
Nop, I tried to play pretty standard (except I didn't move out with my early zeals since I knew he would have a cheater amount of hydras/lings waiting for me -_-).
argh, that damned tvz is soo hard, tvp not so much but this is just . Do they build any faster,? coz i go fast exp and my cc is halfwaydone and i have 6 rhines, and the damn zerg has a spire up
It is very funny to play it. 2v2 is not bad. However is there any AI mod that uses only BO, not money cheat? I would like to play this (2v2) with my friend who is much worse than me. Standard AI is not much of a challenge.
After some test here's a quick summary: I find Racine 3.0 strongest [One on one we are 7-2 for me , and 1-2 I am yet to beat the mother fucker (4-0 for engine)]. Extremely fun to play and so far I saw different BO's. Again big thanks to all involved! Edit: on LT me T vs Z - quick Lurks (too quick and they kept coming from everywhere) - me GG.
Do they work if u play a 1v1 vs the comp on bnet? Of what I can see they should but I saw no major differances in it's play. Totally slaughtered the racine ai.
A friend of mine beat the Racine 3.0 with Scouts only in PvZ... but anyway the AI roxx in normal macro games although it suxx vs cheese even lategame cheese
i played a 2v2 (1 ally comp as terran) in estrella, cause i wanted to see em in islands
not bad (used the non-money ai).
There was a lot of fight. but the terran did everything lol. I was only able to air to air battles with my sairs. My reavers didn't do much.
Then I went 1protoss vs 3 zergs. It was beign quite well till i killed a comp and the other 2 just got mad crazy and soon i had mutalisks guardians and devourers ripping me apart
I tried PvP vs. Racine 3.0 @LT. Comp tried to 3gate zeal me. I just blocked ramp with zeals and went goon. The comps zeals did not attack after i got goons, so the comp lost like 10 of them for nada. Might have been close if they did attack though. Well anyway that was that after 9min.
If you go for a longer macro game you should essentially win after the first big battle, but it takes a while to mop up as comp gets extra mins and expos all over.
Well ever since this is the only topic about this mod compilation, i decided to install this mod, though whenever i want to start with either of them it says the exe has stopped working generic error. This also applies for each individual ai's exes, it amounts to the same sadly.
How can I solve this annoying problem and actually can play ?
Maybe the problem is that this Mod is nearly 9 years old? Did you know until 2010, Broodwar was regularly patched? This Mod probably doesnt work with BW version 1.16.1.
Sorry, but unless you downgrade your BW, I am sure you will not be able to use this Mod.
It works with 1.16.1 BrecMadak, try this starcraft http://files.theabyss.ru/sc/starcraft.zip Launch the reg file which is putted in bw folder, then play with BW AI Project gosu programm.
Wow toriak, never thought of that launcher could exist in order to play against various AI's ! Btw is it the latest version you linked the page to since one guy on there telling that was actually being an older version of it ? Thanks anyway !
Below is access to version 1.3 of the launcher. I created the Accel T terran script a long time ago now.
There use to be a number of us that would create scripts mostly to have them fight each other. (Their micro control is still the same as the Blizzard AI so other than being some what better at macro than the Blizzard AI they can still be exploited by a human player. If you don't use any exploits they can put up somewhat of a fight.)
The website/forum where these AIs and other mods for SC:BW use to be is defunct (http://www.broodwarai.com/).
I got even more surprised by the count of helpful folks sticking around here ! Thanks for the linkage Equalizer. This gotto be the best thing i can get regarding most recent AI for BW !
On September 08 2015 02:05 BrecMadak wrote: @toriak, actually haven't been aware of it, but wonder if any group still enhancing AI of BW for training purpose, or those were the days long gone ?
People are still trying to make AI's that beat human players but there's a whole lot of work to be done for that to happen.
Hey folks, I am a returning player. I couldn't recover my OG account, so I created this one instead. Anyway, I am looking for the most recent version of BWAI Launcher to practise against a better AI if it has received any updates since 1.3 There was a mention of BWAPI earlier, however, I couldn't figure out how to download it from https://bwapi.github.io/ so any help is appreciated.
