After the Sbenu Supermatch last thursday Terror spent a decent while promoting an illegal betting site while livestreaming on livestar(not afreeca). The VOD can be found here: http://blog.naver.com/cartoonpoet/220078155357
He promoted this new sponsor by asking his viewers to register on the webpage using his promotional code.
The Korean bw scene gets pissed off, Sonic gets pissed off and promptly bans him from all SOSPA events.
Conclusion: Terror is an idiot who will probably get a visit from the police sooner rather than later.

Damn Terror, he knows betting is illegal in Korea, it's been 4 years since the match fixing scandal but korean authorities are still on the ball when it comes to betting websites. How on earth did he think this wouldn't be noticed, even if it wasn't on afreeca ? I just hope this will be the last time it happens.
Hoy shit some of those videos are just like... I donno, worse than some guy who is permanently banned from teamliquid.net and should never be talked about on teamliquid.net.

what is the context of this?
Seeing we are talking about Terror, I assume there is none.

Betting is illegal in Korea?
Casinos with permits are okay, but mostly for foreigners only, So far, all online gambling is illegal in Korea.

Fulpot operates from outside Korea. The Korean government will go after illegal gambling sites based in Korea. But for online gambling sites that operate legally from their jurisdictions in other countries, on which Koreans go to gamble, the government doesn't really do anything about it.
Why do people find Terror funny? Like when he told that girl to drink a shit load of milk or something? Maybe I'm the only guy without a "sense of humor."
edit: maybe I was just thinking about the soy sauce incident, idk

same here
It's probably the same sort of people who enjoy some of the more gross stunts of Jackass.

Since he does the same shit, similar comments are highly likely imo. There should be a big "Shit Terror does" thread, news about his bans inserted there as posts.
Meanwhile on Afreeca everyone is just like "Good job Sonic." "Good choice, had to be done.". And it's unusually quiet, like 20 comments since it's been announced. Clearly they were mostly all aware of this beforehand and expected it.
Entire Sonic's statement reads: "Terror is hereby banned from all events indefinitely. Thank you."
So having a past as hazing middle school drop outs with buckets of soy sauce wasn't a ban-able offense? I'm surprised this hasn't happened already. Really surprised SK police or Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism hasn't done something about Terror. This type of crap only fuels anti-hallyu sentiment.
Whelp, guess that was a bit far. He's quite the scary guy at times lol.

I believe the story goes that the two kids came to his place and wanted to be BJs. He challenged them to a contest of eating some hot food on stream and the loser gets doued with soysauce. After that, he let them have a shower and drove them home. I guess he wanted to teach them a lesson in his 'own way' lol.
I think this is exactly what I needed to see to feel better about the state of SC2. Yes, we have weirdos, foul mouths, and balance whiners, but we don't have THAT guy.

Can anyone explain to me why are Koreans always so worried about "illegal gambling"? Even here people seem to be really hurt by the fact. Was that a website, where betting for starcraft games was allowed, or some random poker website?
Dude people are just hating on terror because he got caught in an illegal betting website shit, before that everyone loves him even with all the outlandish crazy stuff he does all the time, all of the same people here complaining about what terror has done and saying ' good riddance ' are the same people posting about how much they love him and how crazy / ridiculous he is in other threads....get real people.
TerrOr is a legend and a true gosu, who cares that he is a little nutty....thats what makes him who he is, I for one hope he never changes....
@GGzerG. Naw, I think you are wrong. You can go back to my old posts on Terror, I always found his streaming behaviour embarassing for post-Kespa BW, and saddening that he would live like that. Never thought he was a hero, just a train-wreck. There might be some that have flipped their opinion on him, but I don't think this was the deal breaker unless they didn't know anything about him prior.

I think that the things about illegal betting websites is bad for the scene obviously, but his antics and personality overall is a good thing, regardless of how crazy he is, because people love to see a little crazyness every now and then

Yea that or he is really good at cleaning and him ' being a horrible person due to damage he left behind for landlords ' is a little irellevant and just a little over the edge in terms of liking someone as a player and or for there streaming personality, why would people even get involved with something like thinking someone is a terrible person because of a mess they could have potentially left behind for a landlord? lol, that has literally nothing to do with you or i.

all his videos involve some form of soysauce pooring over someone. Or flooding the room with it, actually.

If you damage a rental it's you that pays, not the landlord, and the prices for repairs are higher than normal. I'm sure he still comes out ahead though with all the money he makes streaming this crazy stuff.

probably because of the pro gaming scandals associated with such sites? No idea about the website and it's not like all Koreans are worried about illegal gambling because God knows there is a lot of underground shit there when it comes to playing poker and the like. Just ask Rekrul.

Depends on rental laws. In Canada, jerks can walk away without paying rent or damages leaving the landlords to pick up the bill. My uncle and aunt are trying to recoop their losses on some nightmarish renters. If there's enough crap in the basement, flies will cover all the walls and lights in brown with their feet...

SC2 couldn't even handle the hype he generates anyway, so yeah, it's probably for the best that he plays BW.
I love it when other organizations try to strongarm people into acting the way they want them to by punishing them for things completely unrelated to their own events.
I'll back Terror on this, because unless it's violating something with Sonic, they have no excuse.
I still like Sonic burgers, though.

Meh, it's not about acting the way they want. Betting is illegal in South Korea, according to people in this thread.

And this has what exactly to do with Sonic, at all?

Illegal betting helped kill professional BW in the past (Savior + match fixing scandal) and Sonic had to fight it already some time ago in SSL and now one of his players is promoting an illegal betting site where god knows what ppl bet on but we can take a guess as to why it's an sc player promoting it or where else he can link you if you ask.
Sonic actually stood by Terror for a long time (even after Terror was caught stream cheating) since Terror was one of the players to start playing in sospa leagues and obviously a great asset in promoting them. But what does Sonic do now? Say yeah man, promote your shady sites, stream cheat and throw games in my leagues, idc cuz your sauce thing still works?

Completely agree. Sonic sinks a lot of cash into BW and his business is directly tied into that. If he doesn't want someone like terror associated with his brand, I can't really blame him.

I think if we should not be sorry for him is because he's a crazy psycho. On the other hand we may feel sorry cause there's high probability that he's mentally ill.
Terror is that odd rarity that I genuinely can't tell if he's a fantastic actor and playing a part, or if people are voyeurs watching a guy losing his shit.

My stance in cases like is that if you're just acting, you're still just as crazy for putting on the act in the first place. Maybe even more so...

People choose to like or not like people's activities or proclivities pretty randomly. Dy9 has extensive manga and stuffed animal collections at his age, and people think he's a great guy. Other guys that age who are just shut ins would be considered creepy and disturbed for havign that stuff, so yeah, people are fickle about their judgement, so I doubt you'd call Robbin Williams disturbed or crazy for acting the way he does when he's so successful, or Jim Carey, etc.
Wait a minute. So, I knew the crazy streamer guy, and I knew the progamer Terror who was on STX, and apparently they are the same person? Wow, what a way to fall down from a Kespa qualified professional.

I don't know, didn't Terror show some of his strangeness back on the progamer days also?

To be fair, the vast majority of Jaedong's ZvZ games were that one sided at the time. The standard of ZvZ skill didn't catch up to Jaedong for years, and Jaedong's best matchup was ZvZ for a long time. His rise to fame began as a ZvZ specialist.
