Going into your modem's portal in the browser (Google this) and forwarding the 6112 port. Since Brood War is P2P and the server is (in a nutshell) nothing more than a place to upload your wins/losses, newer modems pretty much say "Oh shit, this port is being hacked, DENIED MOTHAFUCKA!" Ping usually has nothing to do with forwarding your ports unless your modem has some complex way of dealing with how you connect to bnet, but it causes lots of issues for lobbies. | ||
