Earlier in the thread it was mentioned that matchmaking is almost done, but is not high on the implementation queue because of the fact that it is still closed beta and the population is too small to warrant it, if I recall correctly. uhg, I sure hope mm comes sooner rather than later, I personally am waiting for mm to play shield battery, I always feel like I cannot get a good match normally. I think that the major reasons why it is not worth implementing yet is the fact that everyone is default in the same channel so you can always ask for game there, you can host a game and someone can join, and there are no sound pings either way so I do think matchmaking is rather pointless at this stage. Not to mention that with such a small population, it is unlikely that there will be any realistic Elo rating and therefore pairing would likely be inaccurate anyway.

You'll get matched up with me anyways. We could have played 100 more games by now.

Not trying to suck up or anything but I keep seeing the same questions and I believe I understand where your design decisions thus far are coming from, whether you and your team have stated so explicitly or if it just makes sense logically. I'm trying to contribute by saving you time and responding to people who ask the same question that's been asked for a while now.
PS: Sound ping integration would be greatly appreciated ASAP though I may be an outlier but I use Chrome for very specific things that make it incompatible/uncomfortable to use SB, and run SB on Firefox, so the notification plug-in isn't of any use to me. No pressure though ;D

Sounds and notification support has some prerequisites that we need to land first, but they're high on the list.
Mostly, we need to make sure these things are 1) user-toggleable and 2) not notifying about erroneous things (If you use the site a fair bit currently, especially if you use it between multiple tabs, you'll notice that the unread indicator on channels/whispers/lobbies is often wrong or at least not helpful, and we definitely don't want to be notifying users in these cases). So we're trying to roll these things out without them being in a state that will actually drive users away due to being annoying. That plus all of us being extraordinarily busy for a while and some other more foundational work underway means you haven't seen much progress on this stuff lately, but it's coming.

if you get a Starcraft game popping up on your desktop after searching I'm pretty sure you would notice it. I wouldn't be able to play it anyway because I race pick TvZ, ZvP, ZvT on iccup.

Did smth chage in last 6 months? I mean smth real important not animations, any stats or ladder, anythin?

The replay feature is so sexy I want to register it as a sex offender. Also, people that are not very good: Use the service so you can get tons of matches without worrying about rank. Honestly i see no need for autoMM/rankings since it will generate lots of anxiety and people not playing each other. Also, theres not many people playing at one time so that will generate long queue times the way I see it. A win-loss ratio for myself and vs the opponent in an 1v1 lobby is more than enough. Big love to the devs <3

halomonian: Auto-MM doesn't need to be ranked. There should be a ranked and an unranked matchmaking. If it's unranked, you still play people around your skill level, but you can mess around or offrace if you want.
