I've had my abyssus for upwards of 6 years, and it's been the best RTS mouse that I've ever had. Although I use 450 DPI w/ no mouse accel. Habits from playing FPS. It evens out by the resolution of broodwar being blown up and making the sens higher. When remastered comes out I'll have to figure out some sort of ratio with my native res and the res SCBW usually used.

Wow, this mouse actually looks Amazing. I would recommend the Razer Abyssus or any generic mouse with no special macro's.

Stay away from laser mice, they are inaccurate. New BW:R goes off your native resolution with mouse speed so 400 DPI seems a bit low now if your playing with 1920 X 1080 I've got 2 logitech mini opticals that I don't use anymore. There is a doc from a reddit thread about lightest gaming mice and the DPI's. https://www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/3jrsnn/lightest_possible_gaming_mouse_with_reasonable/ https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZzbKDmFOqsP_ut2RdctD01OEbZzbXol6HLwqVkSmZcg/edit#gid=0 Honestly I would just get what scan suggested though. Higher DPI version of the old mini optical basically. Commatech FKMini

At least the MX518/G400-series has a chord problem. almost 7 years with g400,not a single problem, the only one is that if he breaks idk what i gonna do with my life.i tried to prevent this by getting a razer abyssus this sh*t broke after 2 months.and tbh the worst mouse ever..

Think i replaced at least two MX518 and one G400 by now. It's not like it totally breaks down, but it starts to intermittently disconnect (you hear the windows connected-mouse-sound sound) and it tends to be during the most important moments. I mainly played QuakeWorld too, would imagine BW working the mouse even harder.

Best mouse ever I'm only on my second Abyssus now as well - so no idea what the complaint about it breaking quickly is about. this even includes a lot of travelling (I'm born in Germany, but live in the UK - with family and friends still living in Germany).

Ive used big and small mice and while I favor small mice, I loved most of the mice I used. Currently using a G203 from logitech and thinking of buying 10 of them to have spares. last time i felt this storng aobut a mice it was the G3, and I had 4 of them. They are all gone now.

The G403 is a pretty big ergo and it weighs 87.3g to the g203s 85, LOL. There's also just using a fast mousepad and custom mousefeet to reduce wrist strain when using the mouse. I might go back to a hard pad or at least a fast thinnish/firm cloth pad. Funnily, Logitech makes a really good 3mm pretty fast big cloth pad. WIth minor effort, you can get the G900/903 down to 92.6g simply by removing the battery. That's amusing to me because it's chock full of componentry and it has an amazing m1/m2 button system from a technical standpoint. With a little more effort, you can get it to like 90 I think - but then you just have a mouse that's inferior to the DM1 Pro S in every respect except for the buttons.
