Please don't build prejudice about Iccup-players in general after such petty experiences. Many people are nice and helpful. Others are cynic ***holes. 118 people is relatively low, even for Iccup standards. In the evenings on european timezones there should be 300-400 people, at least on the weekends. Just don't expect that there are too many people like you around who are more or less starting out. Most people work and have a routine to play a few games in the evening vs their skill lvl. You can find games on your level, but you cannot expect everyone to play vs D rank (especially at the end of the season). Either you host your own games, if you can, or you can go to the "Ladder D - C" channel and ask people directly by whispering them. Check out the other thread in this BW forum with the somewhat boasty title "The State of StarCraft Brood War", the guy there asked 5 questions that you might have, too.

Alternate route is if you have CD key you can hang out on Battle.net - the only alive server is Asia (others dead, hackers etc.) and it's noob friendly. GLHF!

Its light, simple, easy to install and play. Like Highgamer said, at the European evening time, there are a lot of rooms to play on Gameranger too. glhf

Ladder is not available if you don't have korean phone (new retard rules) and even if it was available I think for a newcomer like you korean ladder gonna be a big headache. Just keep joining games. I suggest playing some Hunters to get used into game. OP is from Australia, I don't think Fish is an option

Said gg and then i rejoined and he banned me, joined another persons lobby and he banned me too for no reason. Whats up with people? theres 118 ppl online and people just ban you for no reason. I cant speak for your personal experience but I find that many new players are seemingly unaware of which games they should join and what to expect, so here are some pointers: #1 have iccup antihack on. NO AH = autoban from literally every game, because without AH there is no lan latency either #2 read the game name. If it says C/B/A and you are D, you will be banned. If it says anything higher than D and you are D-, you will be banned. (often) Pretty simple, just respect what people have outlined as their conditions in hosting a game. If you do the above and still get banned, you may have some serious lag issues. GL
