I saw the tweet of Waxangel and thought it's worth a thread here.
This is most likely the teamleague the afreeca ceo promised korean bw fans at the ASL finals. I don't speak any korean so i only have the information of the tweet atm.

If anyone wants to take a crack at translating, someone on Ygosu took a screenshot of the schedule & maps:
Feb 18 to Mar 12, single elimination format, 8 teams of 3 members each, I believe?
A : Flash, Last, By.Sun(Rain) B : Sea, Terror, Shuttle C : BeSt, Light, MIsO D : Bisu, sSak, Tyson E : hero, EffOrt, ZerO F : Guemchi(Iammang), Soulkey, PianO G : Stork, free , Larva H : Mind, Britney, Rush
Each leader = Ro8 JD = give up (because, wrist injury) → replace Mind
I'm glad Outsider is in the map pool, hopefully it's the original. Same can't be said about FS, it was a travesty that it replaced Destination as the most played map 6 years ago and it's a travesty now that Destination isn't back in tournament rotations.

wtf how did all the zergs get on 1 team
Team leaders get to chose the players afaik. Personally, I'm ok with it. These zergs are the best in the current scene. Maybe they can come up to some idea of how to deal with Flash and Last who are currently dominating hard.
Really quite disappointed that Jaedong has chosen to withdraw from the competition. However, I'm certain he knows what's best for him; hope he delivers in ASL3. Team JD v Team Flash would have garnered quite an audience, so the lack of this possibility is a slight drawback for the scene, but nevertheless - HYPED !
Ooohh looks good, can't wait for the ads! And of course it's sad to hear about another wrist injury, but I trust he can stay in shape for the next ASL.
ppffff, they should clearly just kick Rain, such a terrible record.
Interesting how they managed to create this league with only 3 players per team, I wonder how this will play out.
Hope they either run a 6 team league after ASL3, or maybe alternatively have 3 players + 1 rookie or maybe 6 teams with 4 players pros + 1 rookie. At that point you have something resembling proleague. Have 2-3 scheduled matches per month for each team, and there we go. Neo-Proleague. I'd draft rookies by making them compete in online tournaments, then have captains draft the best pickings
On the subject of the team. Rain needs to work on his PvZ a bit, other than that, all they need to do is make sure they don't play Rain vs a Zerg and they'll pretty much win everything.
I'm surprised they've actually gone ahead and announced this team tournament before seeing how the NeOx v Moo showmatch pans out on Saturday. I thought that was meant to be a publicity stunt to give Afreeca some insight into potential audience numbers / online viewership. The success of ASL is a clear sign of rekindled interest in Brood War, but players nowadays have better opportunities to promote themselves and develop their character via streams. Now imagine an influx of big sponsors for teams. I doubt players would be allowed to reveal any strategies developed under secrecy, let alone stream. Hopefully Afreeca err on the side of caution on this one.
Looks like nothing has been published on Afreeca yet, with regards to teams, maps, etc. Surprised they haven't publicized and marketed this at all, seeing how it starts in just over a week...

Yeah, but Fighting Spirit :$, I wish we just banned that map, I really didn't understand the hate a few years ago, but for the last 5-6 years, every tournament has had it or Circuit Breakers.
I wish I could outright ban Fighting Spirit, or erase it from existence.
Neat site. What's your stack? Looks like valuations came from amateur TLPD results and placings skewed for time? Rain appears disproportionately expensive otherwise. Zergs in general also seem punished a little too hard with EffOrt being the worst case (cheaper than free!). Would be cool if player names linked to their sospa TLPD.

thanks will see if I can adjust that. I'll open transfer window tomorrow night after taking ^ into account.
valuations just came from looking at most recent starleagues and my own personal bias into how good players are
its python(pyramid) server being forwarded through nginx on linux. mysql for database, frontend just some jquery stuff and materialize css
I'll be rooting for the Stork - free - Larva team, even though it seems weak compared to many others. I hope they can bring some good strats though and have a deep run. Gogogo team league!!!!
As someone who has never played 2v2, is it fair to say teams with no zerg will be at a big disadvantage? I understood that zerg was the best race in 2v2, to the point where double zerg teams were even banned when it was played in proleague.
If I choose to, for example, loan Flash for 2 rounds but he participates in all three and gets the most points in round 1 and round 3 will I only get the points for the first 2 rounds or will I get the highest allotment of points possible from two of the three rounds (round 1 and round 3 in this case)?
Hunters is good for this point in time. I think they should stick what's familiar first. After all, this is the first major offline teamleague in five years.
Wow at first I was down on Stork's picks but he might actually have the 3rd best team especially with no Jaedong. A and E seem the best by far. Especially if ZZ 2v2 teams are as imba as I've been led to believe.

As a BeSt fanboy I have to say I think his team may be stronger than Storks. Free sucks currently. And Larva is the ultimate choker. He either wins against someone like Flash or loses against someone like by.maru. BeSt on the other hand also has Light in his team. And MiSO meh.
Looks like Afreeca's added a page with graphics to promote this team battle. Largely confirms what we know with regards to teams and maps -- with one change in the Ro4 format, from single elimination to a dual tournament. Guessing they want to get 5 days of competition instead of just 2 (i.e. just two semifinals). Stretches out the schedule by another weekend or so.
That lineup for Team Flash vs Team herO is what I expected aside from Flash Z and Effort R (though it makes sense if you can't go ZZ). Shiit, I think I'm most hyped for the 2v2 of that series now. Why'd these teams have to meet so early though.
Is there a stipulation about who is eligible for the Ace match? Or can Flash go for a 1v1, the 2v2 and the Ace?

That's so cool! As a Star viewer myself, I envy him
Predictions Flash vs Effort on FS Rain vs Hero on BS Flash, Rain vs Effort, Zero on Hunters Last vs Zero on Outsider Flash vs Effort Best possible MU I can think of.
Last taking Flash's place in the 2v2 now. TvTs on Outsider should be fun if it gets there. Maybe MIsO will surprise everyone and take the ZvFlash on FS.

they switched map order. blue storm is the first map so flash vs miso is on blue storm... somehow... i think miso can actually pull some crazy cheese upset here...
Last weeks' games were AMAZING! It was so entertaining to watch Britney vs tyson, mind pulled an excellent game of bisu, the 2v2 was really cool with bisu showcasing his old 2v2 aptitude and that was a really fun tvt actually!
Oh, that's what I get for looking too quickly. You could've fooled me with those picks too. I like TvT and all, but if it's gotta be on FS I'd prefer 3-0 sweeps.
