Particularly helpful if I think a player is going to be a dud for a specific match up. Actually, irrespective of that, there really isn't any reason to not take a player on 3 rounds since they end up cheaper. Am I missing something?

Am I missing something? ah sorry missed that. it would apply for first two rounds (quarter finals and semis) you can buy him again for the final round. the trade-off is: if somehow Flash plays bad...or even worse his team gets knocked out in 1st round. you're guaranteed no points from him in last rounds. so that's why cheaper to have in team for more rounds, it's riskier. (the system might be a bit too awkward, but I wanted to try it out and see what people thought of it)

* Your team can consist of up to 4 players per round * You are only allowed one player from each team per round So an eliminated player on my roster is just a dead slot I can't reinvest? Do the players get cheaper over the rounds? A sensible Flash bet would be all-in since you wouldn't be able to buy him again. Thanks for putting up with my questions.

(Well its not possible to add teams from other rounds, or more than 4 at all) On February 13 2017 10:35 LittLeLives wrote: So an eliminated player on my roster is just a dead slot I can't reinvest? Yes. That's why you might want to only select one round. (They will then leave your team after the quarter finals are over (2nd weekend). So you will then add new players, can be the same, for the semi-finals) On February 13 2017 10:35 LittLeLives wrote: Do the players get cheaper over the rounds? No they're not going to. core values will stay the same throughout the rounds On February 13 2017 10:35 LittLeLives wrote: Thanks for putting up with my questions. No problem. The questions are good. Because I thought of the system, it seems obvious to me, but really my descriptions were too ambiguous. I'll update them.

Microsoft Edge/Explorer seems to work but Chrome/Firefox doesn't. However, older versions of chrome/firefox work. Too lazy to try other browsers but I'm betting it will work there too.

this is a lesson....test everything, no matter how simple a change. simply removing google analytics as I don't have any reason to use it.....managed to break it. (I had some invalid html near end of file, which meant whatever was the last script tag would not get executed. removing GA made the trading js the last script tag)

Looks like Ro4 will be dual format and if TPD doesn't change anything, round 2 offers the most potential for points. Round 1 bets are even more of a risk now.

Then the real tournament starts which is now Double Elimination, that changes everything. If you want to accurately reflect the play that is going on, it should follow the winners and losers brackets. Or at the very least, from the start of the double elimination bracket stage, there should be 3 ADDITIONAL rounds. So it would be: Qualifier Round Round 1 would just be the initial battle, including the ones where 2 teams get knocked into the loser's bracket. Round 2 would be the semi-finals including winner's finals and loser's finals. Round 3 would be grand finals (winner of winner's bracket vs winner of loser's bracket) Also, in traditional grand finals of a double elimination tournament, the winner from the loser's bracket has to beat his opponent TWICE. Because the first win would knock his opponent into the loser's bracket, and then they play from there. I don't know if this will happen in this tournament or not.

edit: okay so it basically just adds another round to tournament. will update to 4 rounds total it doesn't invalidate anybodies teams, because if you had a player for 3 rounds....hell just leave after winners bracket/losers bracket finals. you can re-add him, or someone new, for the grand final (or if they see this before games tomorrow they can update their team to have them for 4 rounds)

I'm away this weekend so I might be a bit slow updating results/leaderboards (not enough games to be worth scraping the data) but they'll be updated by sunday evening latest. transfer window closes ~1 hour before games meant to start so round 1: all the quarter finals round 2: the first 2 semi-final matches round 3: the winners and losers semi-final matches round 4: 'deciders' match (aka loser bracket final) and grand final (this way each round has 2 games, except for quarter finals, but as that has double the teams of other rounds, it works out roughly balanced) I hope that's reasonable (sorry I didn't expect any format changes after announcement) edit: thanks everyone who did join and hope it is enjoyable (learnt so much web dev from this)

I guess the eliminated players should have the loan button nulled too.

Thanks for running this TPD. Best of luck with your next venture. Maybe TL will ask you to work on a native or integrated league next time.
