OP specifically asked for old games people wanted to see casted and mca is the only one to name a match. + Show Spoiler +I was trying to push back against the "please cast my foreigner event" requests in my post.

This depends on how the caster wants to frame themselves and who they are targeting. Five minutes is probably stretching it, yeah, but even complete noobs are, y'know, capable of basic pattern recognition[1]. Even on-topic discussion can be mind-numbing dead air. How tedster chooses to make it worthwhile is the exercise.

A lot of games by Fantasy are great because there is a lot of action the series against Flash comes to mind (semifinal, 2012 TVing OSL) also the final of the 2011 Jin Air OSL Jangbi vs Fantasy

Other than that, personally, I would avoid to re-cast "old Korean" events, because a) they were casted before, potentially by "better" (subject to opinion) casters before or b) they were not casted, because nobody thought they were good. Back then. Imagine how that would be now with higher standards of play. If you cast today's Afreeca scene, you might have to live with odd time zones and/or other casters already doing that. However, you might get co-casters or co-cast yourself. So that'd be an idea. Not my personal favourite though. Same thing nearly every day and there's already tons of good content. So, last option possible would be to focus on foreigners. There's still room - either to review ICCup tournaments, or go help out with other events (see Koget). Then there'd be defiler.ru's tournament platform for replays, or bwreplays.com. Pick something. edit: reps.ru released some "pimpest plays" from post-2010. Those would be good choice as well - cringe worthy games, as well as really great ones. What would be very, very cool, but also very, very time intensive, would be to set up a new BW install with old executables and cover foreign shit that has not been covered before. In the foreign world, we lacked the equipment, not the games. Things that come to mind would be stuff like Sandlot. I can imagine to even add your casts to those articles. Just a few ideas, what you do is up to you. Anyway, good luck and most importantly: have fun. Good to see people try. You just made me go back through some of the sandlot news. Man, those were good times.
I remember Raven being on my ass for selecting Pomi for the finals over him. We lost the finals, yet Pomi was one of the folks who won =)

And yes, incorrect pronunciation is incorrect pronunciation, no matter how you slice it.

But there are so many different BOs and variations that if they're not, then I wouldn't believe for a sec that absolutely everyone watching knows exactly what's going down.

That's what I do :D Yeah this is actually really important, it sets the tone for the rest of the match and how the midgame strategies work.

Whew, about a billion responses compared to the two or three I expected. I'll go ahead and answer some of the general things people said rather than focus too much on specifics yet, but I'll get there. I'm reading everything and really happy for the blast of feedback without having even posted anything yet.
1.) Don't compare to other games/use crappy catchphrases/constantly use "non-bw terminology"/etc. Guys I'm not even typing out Starcraft or Brood War, give me at least a little credit for knowing my terminology I post exclusively in the BW forums and I've been coming here since about '04. I get why Artosis constantly compares things to SC2 - part of his job is easing cross-traffic from his SC2 viewership into spectating a new (old) game - but that's definitely not what I'm setting out to do. Plus I don't actually know SC2 very well, it was never my thing.
2.) Let's get some examples of your commentary up in here That's my goal in the OP of this thread - I wanted to see if there was any old stuff that people would like me to record some samples, so I could kill two birds with one stone but also hopefully provide some sample content that people would actually want to see. My knowledge base of the Korean pro scene (players, teams, career arcs, etc) is probably one of my bigger strengths so I'm going to start with some older content just to get the words flowing.
3.) Do your research Absolutely. One of the big reasons I want to start commentating is that in the last 4+ years post-kespa I've lost a lot of my build-order knowledge and ability to quickly spot unusual openers. I've been brushing up in this area and trying to identify all the areas where the metagame has shifted in the meantime, which is really what led me down this path.
4.) Learn to say words right I'm a professional writer but I can't promise that in the heat of the moment I won't butcher EXTREMELY common words, like "burrow" and "the".
5.) Lots of advice about areas where other casts leave you wanting All this stuff is great! I'm actually less afraid of the opening ~5 minutes of "dead" time (at least with Korean players, where I should have things to say about players/rivalries and such) compared to the lategame when lots is happening and I have to keep up a constant narrative.
Anyway, I especially appreciate the people that recommended specific games or events, even if it's for foreigner tournaments. While those are going to be a lot harder for me to produce some sample recordings for people to pick apart, I think it's a good indication where demand lies at the moment. I've got a client project to finish this weekend, but will get started on some recordings early next week so I can hopefully put to rest some of the cries of "SHOW US YOUR STUFF".
Thanks again guys!

How about a stream link? You should connect it to your account so when your casts go live, you can post in here and people can tune in, and see you on the sidebar

the point of this is to make sure we know who you are. right now we dont know how you cast and your weaknesses. that's the point of examples. once you have one we can actually tell you where to correct yourself.

I would suggest playing and learning the game as best you can. I don't know your rank but not many people are going to be interested in listening to someone who has never really played the game. This is just my opinion of course.

If I were you I would not get into very old games, where you can only find 144-240p quality, these are pain to watch :/ I would pick more recent ones

KCM legends matches doesn't have english casting yet, live casting would be cool. As someone already said, there are some foreign tournaments as well without english cast (casted in russian). I can't speak for the rest, but I rarely look any old games anymore.

Thanks for your valuable input, Piste. You just made me re-read the OP twice. You should do it as well. + Show Spoiler +-He was asking if there's demand for english commentaries and for which tournaments -He appreciates feedback (not quite same thing than advice given in advance) ps. I can sense hint of irony in your post
