foreign IP will be visible on Fish website you will be in a pool
because most cheaters are use foreign IP addresses and do not speak korean
90 day ban will apply language offense. permanent ban with HWID and Windows key cheating or server abuse. both with account closure.
I respect that this might be the case, but please don't tar all non-korean players under the same brush based on a small minority who have gone on to Fish and cheated in the past. It makes no sense.

Honestly if that fish_radio account isn't trolling it makes me think a lot less of Fish and the people who run it.

blizzard will not control we are a korean-only server korean language only
- blizzard can close fish whenever they want, blizzard has full control over its license - false, there are a lot of foreigners - false, I use english never had any trouble
also nice middle ages mentality, as always.

and if he's a legit fish admin then someone should let him know what blizzard and the foreign scene did for koreans in sc2.

It kinda sucks that foreigners dont have an official gateway like koreans do tbh. Bnet servers aren't active enough to support newcomers, we're gonna be spread out on 3 different servers (eu/east/west).
ICCup is probably gonna die once 1.18 comes out which is unfortunate. It has a quality ladder system and player base, feels like it's going to waste. Ideally i would have liked it if the matchmaking system could be implemented on ICCup w/ the built in antihack and all..

Don't be a negative nancy. The original battle.net gateways fucking sucked and we had PGTour and WGTour because the Blizzard ladder was pretty shit from the beginning. This is a new start and there is no reason why they can't be good now. I mean, it is understandable that they will never be as active as Fish, but they could be as good as ICCup or even better.

Would be nice if TL maybe picked one server to play on (although back then didn't it end up just being US East anyway?), because having one active server is better than having everyone split up.
Shield Battery should still work too hopefully!

Can someone tell me the difference between Fish server and the official SC2 server? Will I able to find fair matches against other nubs or will I be endlessly stomped because the lack of matchmaking? I'm coming back to BW after more than a decade and I don't know how ladder, servers work. Thank you

True BW HD could end up being a blessing for SB. If ICCup dies i can see a large portion of the foreign player base moving to SB (aswell as playing on Fish). Personally i love SB so i'd love that, i'm still gonna stick around even when 1.18 comes out.

TT1, why do you expect no one to play on North American or European servers? SC:R should bring a lot of new players, and the servers will be updated with LAN lat and matchmaking. They aren't going to be playing on Fish.

The 'improved anti-hack' built-in means there's no more use for wLauncher too, right?

Dunno i just feel like those servers are gonna feel pretty isolated. People are gonna log into bnet (especially newer players) and they won't know where to go, they'll just play a few games whilst sitting by themselves in an empty chat channel.
In any case i don't think BW will have a high enough player base to support multi server gaming. I particularly don't foresee those servers having very high level games.
The good thing about servers like ICCup and Fish (and even SB) is that people can easily check all the chat channels, bnet doesn't have that type of feature.
More importantly, there's always gonna be UMS/team games on those servers as well as high level ladder/1v1 games. And of course people can hang around with alot of other players on chat channels and stuff (which creates a fun gaming atmosphere and builds a community).
Personally i'd rather if everyone played on the same server but i guess we'll just have to wait and see how things look first.

I'd imagine that Fish would still control account creation and the like? I wouldn't think it being an issue.

Hi this is kind of an emergency post, want to play on Fish server but, cant get past the "Welcome to Fish Server" screen? I download MCA launcher to my PC following instrcutions in this thread, Launch MCA Launcher under the Fish and Others section, and Brood War starts, get to the account log in screen, and see FIsh, and Fish backup options? After clicking Fish, the page loads, my screen says, additional software must be installed, batttle.net requires the newest software in order to run, a loading bar installs the software, and says, Your application will now restart. After all of this, i try logging back to Fish server again but cant get to the New Account or Login screen? Anyony know why is this or how to bypass in to Fish server using the MCA Launcher after seeing just the welcome screen in battle.net iron text graphic?

Record it and upload on yt or somewhere else. You can use AV tools from launcher, just check local recording and press Record button
