Thanks alot ! Please help me guys ! its this one https://d8un0y0mnd29o.cloudfront.net/public/Starcraft 1.18 PTR 1202.zip Thank you sir ! Is there any assurance that this is not malware-riddled ? I mean it's hosted on a non-really-official-source, any insight regarding the safety of the binaries ? Since providing inbound and outbound network connectivity will be needed for the game I'd rather take some precautions Worse case I'll wait 1 or 2 days until Blizzard releases something public, but hell the wait is hard !
It's the link posted by a Blizzard Dev on the Battle.Net Forums and many people have downloaded it already and no one complained. You are fine to download it. I was afraid of the link too, but I trusted it since it was posted by a Blizzard Dev.

This is running like disaster on my pc. Background menu graphics are blurred, text is like slapped on screen, menu and lobby interface graphics are blocky and ugly. Everything runs super slow, ingame everything is pixelated and mouse lagging all the time.

haven't played, but from streams/screenshots b.net menu's/chat looks horrendous. it seems like i will keep my iccup installation for now.

Thanks! I feel like Win 7 64 bits is super common tho, that's weird that they didn't test it on it before the ptr launch.

So when is this thing going officially live, its already 30/3 in the US right?

How to make FullScreen not to stretch it to all my screen and keep it 4:3?

Turn off full screen windowed.
Mine is just on full screen and is in 4:3

I use Windows 7 64 bit, and I was able to load up and play the 1.18 beta with no issues at all. I guess I'm the rare case?

Edit: moved to another thread.

Is there any ladder yet ? I like iccup way of ranking-up, I feel it fits broodwar better than 4-5 ''pre-ladder game'' to get into a league.

Yep... get heaps of lag. I think it's the #L1 default setting. Hopefully they change it to #L2 so we can have bearable games.

When is 1.18 gonna be out ?

Same here from Brazil. Mostly really laggy games. I play normally on ICCup though.

my pc is overheating too when playing bw lol -_-

for pure nostalgic experience as well, I even busted out my old crm monitor to play this :D

ok so i played but the lag was HORRIBLEEEEEEE compared to fish. wtf. like worse than peruvian lag.
on the flip side, the game runs VERY well... like, it feels even smoother than 1.16.1! it feels notably better, and i don't say that lightly because i think blizz is a garbage dev and i don't trust them to not mess up. but for real, it runs really well!
the boxes around text in game is kinda annoying.. also, the fact that i can't block spectator chat while playing is annoying. also, why did they change the create game hotkey on battlenet??? seems like a random dumb change for no reason...
also, while i disagree with hotkeys being included, they need to update the list to something more like sc2 has so that it is way easier to navigate..
finally, aren't they making the game run at 1920x1080? i thought that they were expanding the field of view? or is that only in the HD version?
oh 1 more thing, they need to make the custom games list filterable by melee/1x1/top vs bottom/ums like it was in broodwar. also, option to not have spectator slots
that's my 2cents. overall, very positive though with regard to the game itself.
~edit ohhhhh both FULL CAMPAIGNS are in the download btw, so if you haven't played sc or bw's campaign recently and it's lagging you can go play those! not sure why they're included in the ptr download but okay lol

I did BW mission 1 in both the PTR and BW. The difference was night and day to me.

I get all sorts of errors when I try and load the starcraft.exe file, I'm on win 7 64 bit, I actually hope that's the reason because when googling these errors it seemed like I needed a GPU (my laptop just has the basic graphics shenanigans built into the CPU, it's never had an issue running bw before)
