F: Have you ever even thought about the following: Let’s say on average Zerg trade six Zerglings for any kill and that a player makes on average 100 Zerglings per game. So once in every ten million games or so there is this one Freak Ling who is the lucky one, who survives the onslaught, but has a dozen kills on his account. You know the sad part of this story? Here is the true silent hero of Brood War, but not even an observer will probably ever care to click on that little Zergling and be a witness of its glory. That's soo sad.........

Superouman what up yo?!?! Great interview, it would be cool to see if Blizzard can make some changes to the map editor and minimap in SC:Remastered to allow for new map sizes (e.g. 80, 112, 144, 160). I'd really like to see 144x144 happen so I can finally make a bunch of 3v3/4v4 maps I've had in my mind for so long. Maybe I'll get back into map making again.

All the other ones can potentially get in the way of ground units or even building placement. It’s fun to place a bunch of kakaru’s or any other critter on a map close to where the player spawns, and then set them all to hallucinated status. They will all blow up at the same time all over the player’s field of view. Now this question gave me an idea of creating a map where you start with your main base full of critters… I admit I have not actually done this but when flying around with mutas (in ums or a game) i am always on the lookout to attack kakarus or poor neutral ground units when enemy (for example) marines are close enough to receive the damage from that second muta damage bounce. Now I wonder - if i attack a kakaru or a ground neutral unit or a ground neutral building and enemy marines are close enough, will they receive the damage from the second bounce? It is only logical to me that yes, the marines should receive that damage. Which brings me to the idea of using a whole lot of these guys in a map, or just about enough but with higher HP for example. Zerg will be able to micro around these guys and control certain map areas vs marine forces easier. I would be very interested in seeing a mutastack vs marine/medics battle in a cloud of kakarus. But I know by experience kakarus are minding their own business pretty well and can fly around the whole map frivolously so I am not sure that "a cloud of kakarus" is actually doable from a mapmaker point of view. Terran will be able to irradiate them and interrupt certain attacks or do an aggressive eraser with just one vessel in certain areas. Maybe it will be of use for Protoss if the neutral units were some units that could do damage or spells to mind control them as kakarus with high HP can be used only in some weird carrier strat where mced kakarus tank goliath damage or kakarus can tank turret damage for easier recalls lol. on a more general note - very nice read, thanks for the interviews to everyone involved

Not to say that "a cloud of Kakarus" will be misclick hazard par excellence...

Allowing new map sizes would fall into Blizzard's responsibility. SCMDraft already allows for any size you like, it's just that most of them crash the game. Only better minimap scaling (always stretching the maps to fill the full width or height with its longest dimension) would already be good, as that would make 192xX maps a whole lot more feasible to use. As for the Editor, it seems like they have deemed making an own one from scratch rather impractical and are opting for supporting SCMDraft as a quasi official editor. There are already some nice new features in the pipeline (like overlays for all terrain flags).

So I guess it's up to Blizzard to step up their critter game and introduce new and cooler critters or just allow the already existing ones to become stronger?
