Hosting has it's benefits after all, see no reason why you shouldn't choose between the two. hey cele I'm asking because you live in germany what do you think will happen if they region lock you? how many people in germany actually even play brood war? How will our individual regions be able to maintain a ladder to even play not even talking about maps yet.

lag will be an issue, maps will possibly be an issue and what's there to stop people from leaving before 2 mins if they ever hit a strong player? the last issue can be solved by removing the <2 minute "draw" option.. but then what are the players supposed to do if a game lags?

Out of curiosity, how does sc2 handle this?

I'm on the US East Coast and back when I played SC2 I did play on Korea. I think I had around 300 or so ping, but that was just me, the other guy I was playing would have low ping like 40 or something. The only way it would effect him is if I had really high lag or disconnected, then I would be dropped.

No one really knows what netcoding BW 1.18 uses tho, they're probably not using p2p anymore but who knows. I was referring primarily to the lag aspect. I'm assuming that can occur regardless of the netcoding used (maybe a bad assumption?).
