In 20 minutes, Reach is going to attempt to pass his ODT group and bring glory and prestige to a so far snivilling, whining, and insignificant OSL.
Pray with me brothers, for the moment is nigh...
The Protoss Prayer...
Let me tell you a story about the protoss user.
the protoss user is cerebral. the protoss has no easy matchups. the protoss user walks a lonely road, the only one that he has ever known. the protoss user turns his face into the wind and walks with purpose. the protoss user is a snail, crawling, slithering, along the edge of a straight razor to victory, and surviving.
he does not try to bend the imbalanced ZvP matchup. that's impossible. instead, the protoss user must realize the truth: that there is no matchup. it is not the matchup that is imbalanced, only himself.
the protoss user must learn to bury the unfairness with anger. the protoss user must confront it and face the truth. the protoss user knows how to fight with 12 units, he must learn how to engage twelve hundred. the protoss user knows how to disappear, he must learn how to become truly invisible. the protoss user understands that invisibility is a matter of patience, and creativity. the protoss user always minds his surroundings.
the ordinary progamer is just a man, lost in the scramble for his own gratification. he can be defeated, destroyed. to win, the protoss user must become more than just a man. if he can convince himself of the truth--then he can become something else entirely: a legend.

We must rejoice in this moment, as it has been a long time coming. May glory in battle be won, and the blood in our veins pump fire.

Game 3: Reach (p) 59-48 vs SaferZerg (z) 16-11 on Neo Guillotine
I have heard rumblings about my reporting being somewhat biased towards Reach, and that I should try to be more impartial. I apologize for this, and will try to curb my enthusiasm for him from now on.
The greatest StarCraft player on the earth today (23-28 vs Z) warped in at five, while SaferZerg (4-3 vs P) spawned across the map at eleven. Safer went for a safe twelve pool build while scouting the map, while Odin himself used his brilliant intellect and cunning to start with a forge-first build which quickly led to a fast nexus. It looked as if the game would boil down to a race between Reach’s sairs and Safer’s mutalisks, but in reality there was no competition. Saferzerg was forced to switch to lurkers while the Gifted One’s air power dominated the skies.
While Safer looked to contain with his new lurkers, Reach simply shrugged off his opponents mild attempts at resistance as his dt artfully ninja sliced the drones at Safer’s expansion. Bordering on contempt for this pathetic display of zerg offense, Reach broke out of his main with a zeal/goon/temp army, decimating his opponent’s lurkers and expanding two more times. With only one expansion, Safer was unable to keep up with the protoss macro game, and with every breath Reach gave life to new legions of armies willing to do his bidding. As Safer huddled in the corner of the map, mounting no offense and trying to avoid detection, Reach launched his Spartans relentlessly, raining blue fire down upon the confused and frightened zerg. With the blood running in torrents, Safer quickly taped out in the face of the onslaught, took one look at the face of God, and ran from the MegaWeb studio to find solace in the company of lesser mortals.
Reach simply got up, made all the girls swoon with a single smile, and then got into his cloud car and headed back to the heavens for fine wine and peeled grapes.
Any chance someone to upload the game Mani described: On January 17 2005 20:48 Manifesto7 wrote: Game 3: Reach (p) 59-48 vs SaferZerg (z) 16-11 on Neo Guillotine

1. Yes it does. 2. He seriously isn't very good anymore
lets hope the mantoss stands brave as a shield upon the oncoming terran gayness which they call "OSL"... FOR AIUR! (If aiur translates to 1 game less torture per week in upcoming OSL)
He pushes back from the computer, tossing the sweat-stained mouse across the surface. The crowd is ecstatic. He can hear them chanting before he takes his headphones off. Mantoss. Mantoss.
The room is electric, the energy racing back and forth as the fans scream for him. For a split second he catches a glimpse of his opponent. He watches the poor man's mind race faster than the sweat pouring down his face, scrambling for something, anything to alleviate the pain of defeat.
He stands up as the cries of the crowd wash over him, massaging him the same way they used to. He thinks of the fans. The ones who knew he'd win, and the ones who believed he'd always win.
"Don't you know who I am?"
Part of him wants to scream, to throw the keyboard into the crowd. He wants to tear off his shirt, to throw over a table and punch the sky. He wants to let the world know he's still here.

THIS IS NOT NEARLY "LOUD" ENOUGH TO BE IN THIS THREAD~!!!!!! YOU MUST SCREAM AT THE TOP OF YOUR LUNGS SO THAT MANTOSS CAN HEAR YOU!!!! YYYAAAAHHHH!!!!!
"At MBC Trials I raped some terran round one. I was feeling pumped and ready for round 2 vs. Reach.
I was then walking towards him and he was walking towards me and we made eye contact, he didn't look away, neither did I. I felt the power of the mantoss. There was nothing I could do. He was Reach. I was the first one to break the eye contact. I knew what was coming.
His greatness will baffle you when he runs through hoards of terrans on these shitty maps and wins the title. Fuck you Arkanoid! The Mantoss is too strong!
that original picture the dude standing there wasnt trying to stop the chinese army, he just bought groceries and somehow got lost there, didnt know where to go.

Was it "King Arthur" ?? oh, and Reach = Protoss God! It's nice to hear about this Bisu character raising some popularity among progamers, with his stellar performances. He has much way to go before rivaling that of the Hero Protoss. Reach -- Kang -- Bisu -- Kingdom !!

isnt that picture bad for the zealot or does it signify a line of terrans to be smashed? O well. Reach vs Iris on the awesome looking map fantasy. I hope that he at least gets to semis so he can be in the next osl also.

MANTOSS is so manly that he has to have his name in all caps. Anyone who fails to adhere to this strict policy is obviously not a supporter of the MANTOSS.
I'm really starting to like this guy. Although I think the "mantoss" hype is a little exaggerated, I love his aggressive gameplay. I hope he wins a title this year
For the Protoss so loved the world aiur that they gave their one and only Mantoss, that whoever becomes a zealot bomb shall not perish but become a dragoon.

Now I really hated reach when he defeated Boxer in the OSL finals a long long time ago but with his personal style, charm and overall MANTOSSNESS he really gained my respect and I enjoy his games very much.
ahh...Reach vs. Stork, two of my favorite protosses battling. but i have to admit, it doesn't look too good for Reach, since Stork is on fire these days.
i'd like to make a full commercial of it, but ive no experience with video editing, anyone know some good software for video editing? or maybe i'll learn how to make a flash video? hm..
I actually think TeamLiquid should gather up and go burn Stork's house with torches, but the fact that we already have two Terrans in the semis somehow makes it up, at least for me;)
So until next time, I leave you fanboys mourning for the freshmaker

Yeah, it's ridiculous.... I'm glad it'll die down for a while. Reach isn't doing that well; he'll most likely drop back down to the minor leagues again.
oh well, it was a fairy tale run. i'm no fan of reach, but respect for representing the old school of players. nice while it lasted, and stork has a shot at actually winning it.
You all need to lighten up. The Mantoss excitement was completely justified considering what a fairytale run he had into this OSL. The only thing interesting about the prelims and the Terran filled groups was the story of Reach.
To be honest, I can't believe we ended up with such an incredible R8 with such a shitty initial roster of players. Just goes to show those Terrans are pussies without their precious Arkanoid.
Reach is great, love him. But FUCK mantoss I think that's pretty much what carnac is getting at. Sorta like I dispise the Taco Bell catch phrase: Good To Go. So much so that now, even when people say it in a normal context, it causes some sort of physical aversion
