It happened during one of the NASL qualifiers where you made a big deal for them to turn the stream off, acted like a baby and wouldn't let them cast, and still lost.

I clicked on the international ranking for this and saw 3 koreans at the top, does international ranking not mean non-korean players?

I agree those should be removed. The thing with keeping them is they play a lot in "foreign" tournaments, hence it kinda makes sense to keep them.
Overall a non-korean version of the ranking with re calculated ELO would be interesting to see, as some of the top koreans have a relatively low ELO due to few games (e.g I have lost vs YSC who had like 1000 points while he could have easily topped the ranking in reality)
So to sum it up - have an only foreigner ranking (so you can actually say who plays best vs foreigners) and have a korean only ranking that maps only korea vs korea matches..
Primary argument for that is two different player / event pools, it is really uncomparable.

Im sorry Mr KogeT but wo is just loss according to the rules that have been established and according to the organizers of a given tournament. Due to no possiblity to check whether each loss was forfeit or not all games reported by organizers as loss are just loss is ranking. Otherwise, some players would be treated unfairly due to just dont know their wo games are reported as lost. Also there is possibility players can gave intentional wo in some circumstances to get better place in next round group/bracket et cetera.

Nope, there is dedicated form to fill, simple and pretty fast / easy.

It was created as foreigner only but instantly i have been asked many times where is Scan , also if they play in international tournaments and organizers allow them to play i dont see any reason to not include them. There is also few other things like, you cant realy know all players and be sure this unknown xyz nickname is korean or not.

Yeah and many low rank players lost to you when you had low ELO. Shouldt Chaelyn be allowed? Or maybe just PROs? But then Scan and ajuk wasnt pro anyway i belive. Should be Cross allowed? Is he realy Canadian or just Korean? Is Jayun more Korean or more American, who would judge? There is many problems with that. Its more on tounament organizers hands from my perspective.

Yes, I have to say it was surprising to me that 3 years after remastered came out, foreign tournaments still have koreans partake in them to win most of the prize money.
In my eyes it was always clear that regional competition is the preferred format. And for a ranking like this, it would make most sense for korean players to not be included. (Though that makes it weird if tournament organisers do actually include them, like you said.)

Ah great i can help with the korean ranking then(and also a bit with foreign if more help is needed), i'm liquipedia editor so i have a pretty decent overview of the korean competitions

Poegim, I just want to make it a better tool, really don't care my result personally.
I think the goal of the tool is to create the most realistic ranking of foreign players, based on their actual results/skill. If you allow players to report walkover so they can be removed they only thing you get is better database. The example of "intentional" vo to get a better place still doesnt matter, as what you try to measure is ELO performance based on matches played against each other. Otherwise you consciously corrupt your data without getting any additional benefit from this.
Same for your betting part - the odds should be based on real matches, not walkovers.

Koget , yes / maybe / i can change my private opinion, however you would have to allocate asymmetrically a lot of resources (time) and / or it would still be impossible in 100% to implement in the conditions of amateur scene. It was big challenge from the perspective of time spent already, dont see anyway to do that this way. Database have like over 15k games already, Facing the existing reality and conditions it was most elegance and simple way to solve the problem of walkovers.
Change my mind / to fix some games and other not, and BIG one, how to verify when someone will say he lost by wo et cetera. Just belive a word?
|
You can ask them to provide any kind of evidence. And by principle yes, I think people would not lie.. and even if you do it assymetrically, it still doesnt hurt your database, as removing corupted results like this will always improve the quality (even if some players are still left with walkovers)
