I was wondering if anyone had any info on how fast pro players (Bisu, Flash etc.) set their mouse scroll speed to. Currently i have it on 4 out of 7 (midd) but i know high level players like Scan use 6/7.
I feel like having a higher scroll speed makes it easier to manage your base and macro (when you have a lot of production facilities and need to scroll to them) but i also feel like army engagements are a bit more hectic and harder to manage.
What do you guys think? Feel free to share your own scroll speed and experiences.

I think you should set it on something on the high end, and you'll get used to it for army engagements.

Yea, whenever i watch Scan play i always assumed he had his scroll speed on like 4 because of how smooth it looked. Was really surprised when he told me he plays on 6/7.
Do all the pros in general play on high scroll speeds?

Is the x / 7 rating the window setting or something? Or is the x/7 the 1.18 speed settings for mouse sensitivity?

Ingame bars, mouse scroll = the speed it takes to scroll your screen with your mouse.

Whos setting is that? Yours?

yea
for reference, my mouse speed is 800 dpi

I'm pretty sure most of the pros use the max scroll speed.
I believe horang2 and just a few others use about the same speed you're using.

I think Nada uses the second-to-last fastest setting, but that was from an old video, don't know what he uses now. Incidentally it's the same setting I use with my mouse sensitivity and dpi settings and all, on fastest I tend to overshoot stuff. Just use whatever you're most comfortable with.

I started playing with 2/7 speed, after a while i changed to 4/7 and my apm really improved with that, from 210 to 240/250. I guess you are really faster while macroing and doing stuff. I don't think i could use more than half speed, the cursor it's just too uncontrollable for me.
I'm using windowed fullscreen, 30% mouse speed, 1600dpi.
Guess i could lower the dpi and try to fnd better settings but i'm used to play FPS games with that sens to avoid pixel skipping :| Life is hard.

Spin off:
In windowed fullscreen game is working with your desktop resolution (expect black bars on left/right), so givin only DPI/SPEED value is non sense when you dont givin a screen resolution becouse in different desktop resolution DPI will work different.
Also DPI in that case we are talking about is same as mouse speed, so its also non sense to scale mouse speed uper or lower if you have mouse with changable DPI. Its way better for precision to change DPI than scale speed ingame.

I'm pretty sure Last play on 7/7

Few months ago i did similiar question on netwars.pl and Trutacz says he play on 6/7 or 7/7 smth like it

I guess having low DPI (usually 400) is good for micro and having high mouse scroll (6 or 7) is good for macro. Low DPI makes you to control more precisely while faster screen movement allows you to maintain faster control of map.
|
I think really you have to take into consideration what type of mouse your using as well, because if you have high DPI and high setting in BW it will be too difficult to control as outscar stated, I use lower DPI and higher setting in SC as well, to be fast and accurate at the same time you have to tinker around with both settings I believe.

I have always just set it to 7/7 without too much thought - just this simple logic: The game should move as fast as it can, so there is no upper boundry to how fast I should be able to move.
However, as you know, I am not exacly a "fast pro player".

Effort has it maxed, just saw it on his stream while he was playing remastered.

its pretty hard to compare since the huge difference an 800dpi and 2000dpi mouse makes.
all i remember from the time i played 10 hours a day (like ... 15 years ago) i rly was into finding out whats the perfect mouse speed, and i the pros i saw had like super crazy high mouse speeds so i always used teh highest myself so if it not changed i think pros still play rly fast mouse speed near max

If it makes you guys feel any better, i recall reading White-Ra(when he was top Foreign BW player) used to play his mouse speed so low they said he basically had to throw his arm across the table to move the cursor and he still did fine.
I don't think it'll make that big of a difference
That being said whatever you find comfortable would probably work best. In the end though im sure you can get used to about any speed really.
